I was nervous because I've had issues with Avis having available cars and just cancelling my reservation the day before even when a reservation is made a month in advance and they offer one way rentals. It can ruin your plans and cause so many issues and un-needed stress. It's not even they don't have available cars but don't want to give them for one way rentals , which I would say is terrible customer service when you offer the service. When I got to the Park Ridge location, I was greeted right away by Jolie and she quickly professed my reservation. She had no issues with availability and the car was identified and ready. It was nice and fuel efficient which was perfect for the 5 hour drive I had for the one way. I got the exact rental car type I wanted because I cared about fuel efficiency and not space since it was a long distance drive. We checked the car over together, and she told me about the automatic lights and also showed me where the lever is for the gas tank. Always helpful when each car is so different and it just saves hassle when you need to fill up. The gas tank was full and the car clean. Thank you Park Ridge Enterprise for making my journey stress-free.

When she went to pick it up, she was told that she had to pay another $400 fee for being a (brand-new) Chicago resident. The manager, Alexia, was yelling at my daughter, who was crying and just needed help, saying "sorry, I just can't help you." I tried to problem solve on the phone, from SC mind you, saying that I would send her the money and she could use her card. Again, Alexia said no, she wasn't renting her the car. I am super disappointed in Alamo, the people working there, and all in all Chicago for upcharging people because "well, that's our policy." Shame on you Alexia! But for this trip, I had some long drives that would have been cost prohibitive with rideshare, so I bit the bullet. I was most happy with the check-in process. I was able to do most of it online, so the pick-up at airport was fast and easy. Most importantly, they didn't try to scare me into buying unnecessary insurance or TollPass transponders. The rep showed me how to pay my tolls by plate online, and never mentioned any extras. Thank you! I had selected the premium car category, and I had the choice between an Audi S5, Alfa Romeo Giulia, and Hyundai Genesis. I picked the Audi and it was clean, well equipped , and in good condition. Apple CarPlay worked great, which basically covers everything these days - maps, radio, bluetooth calling, etc. Drop off was just as fast, and the rental car area is a short tram ride away from the Terminals. Overall easy peasy and price was competitive. I'd rent from them again, which I can't say about most of my car rental experiences.

After that, I was contacted again about the same balance, saw another charge appear, and even received a letter saying I needed to pay or risk being banned from renting with Enterprise. Escalations then told me they could not see the charge and said I should dispute it with my bank. Very stressful and disappointing experience.

The plan was to arrive in Chicago at O´Hare Airport and then proceed to an off-site parking lot to pick up the car. He said he would not charge me extra for leaving the vehicle near the airport. Well, thanks to a massive screw-up on the part of American Airlines, it took me 60 hours of horrific traveling to finally arrive in Chicago. During this nightmare I kept Jacek informed of my travel problems. When I finally arrived at 2 AM and picked up the spotlessly clean car, Jacek had arranged perfectly. When I arrived at my motel 2 hours later, I noticed that one of the headlights had burned out on the way. Jacek told me not a problem - to get it fixed, and he would take care of it. And he did. The rest of the trip was uneventful. I drove this rental for over 2 weeks in the Chicagoland area as well as the Northwoods of Wisconsin. When the day came to return the car, Jacek offered to pay for my Uber trip to the airport. I politely declined, as he had gone to great lengths at the beginning of my trip to make sure that the car would be waiting for me close to the airport. I am originally from the Chicago area, and return on a regular basis. Renting a car at O´Hare airport can be a nightmare. It was precisely because of car rental problems at O'Hare, that I decided to give Jacek and EZ Vehicle Rentals a try. I am so glad that I did, and both Jacek personally as well as EZ Vehicle Rentals deserve 5 stars for the very competitive pricing, vehicle quality, and magnificent personalized service. He had lots of attitude and was more interested in his personal phone call rather than helping customers. I did not realize until later that he had given me the wrong car and I had no paperwork authorizing me to use this out of state car. A police stop could have proven to be very, very interesting! More importantly, I received a charge on my credit card the next day for a vehicle that I never rented!! $91.76. Amazing!!! They charged me for a one day rental that someone else used!! I think that this is identity theft done by an employee of Hertz. How are they safe guarding and using my personal credit card information?? I just found this out and hope that there was no property damage to the car or the car was not used in any criminal manner while linked to me.
