Surprisingly great experience. I generally hate renting cars - why take the risk and deal with the hassle when there's Uber/Lyft everywhere. But for this trip, I had some long drives that would have been cost prohibitive with rideshare, so I bit the bullet. I was most happy with the check-in process. I was able to do most of it online, so the pick-up at airport was fast and easy. Most importantly, they didn't try to scare me into buying unnecessary insurance or TollPass transponders. The rep showed me how to pay my tolls by plate online, and never mentioned any extras. Thank you! I had selected the premium car category, and I had the choice between an Audi S5, Alfa Romeo Giulia, and Hyundai Genesis. I picked the Audi and it was clean, well equipped , and in good condition. Apple CarPlay worked great, which basically covers everything these days - maps, radio, bluetooth calling, etc. Drop off was just as fast, and the rental car area is a short tram ride away from the Terminals. Overall easy peasy and price was competitive. I'd rent from them again, which I can't say about most of my car rental experiences. read more

This billing issue started in December 2025. I rented from Enterprise at O'Hare Airport, paid in full, and received a receipt showing no balance due. Even so, I was later billed over $600, had to dispute it, and the charge was eventually refunded. After that, I was contacted again about the same balance, saw another charge appear, and even received a letter saying I needed to pay or risk being banned from renting with Enterprise. Escalations then told me they could not see the charge and said I should dispute it with my bank. Very stressful and disappointing experience. read more

Our family of three plus two friends flew in from California to Chicago to attend our son's college graduation. At Enterprise ORD, we were received by a young man named Austin who was friendly and efficient. He walked us to our minivan and asked if I was OK with it. It was basically a brand new vehicle with less than 3K miles, all leather seats with all the amenities, so it met expectations. The minivan was the perfect transport vehicle for our needs, and very comfortable. Upon return, the process couldn't have been easier. I loved that I was able to check-in online and easily avoid getting in line at the counter. When I walked up, Tyler immediately that informed me that they didn't have any of the compact AWD SUV's that I requested and promptly went to task on locating me a larger SUV upgrade. He communicated effectively with his fellow employees and had a beautiful new Nissan Murano driven on over to me in a jiff. Experiences like this remind me why I love renting from Enterprise so much. Drew did an excellent job of checking our car in and giving precise directions to the airport train and what stop to get off on to check-in with our airline. Starting with my initial interaction approaching the counter, Omar was very prompt, pleasant and efficient. I cannot remember the gentleman's name who took me to choose a vehicle, but he was great also! I'm supposed to bring back lunch from my family for the staff. Very personable and resourceful. Ms. Josetta was a real treat upon my check in to exit rentals. Customer service is CONSISTENT, through and through.. My initial car, Sentra, had some issues so I text the customer service number that messaged me about my trip and if I needed anything. It was an inconvenience to ride back to O'Hare BUT again, even the communication via text was an accommodating and positive experience. I returned the car, the gentleman who checked in the Nissan and guided me to the podium at National was helpful, apologetic about the inconvenience and thorough. Lastly, the lady at the podium (possibly a manager) was a good experience & got me into a new vehicle, Mazda (my favorite choice). The gentleman who checked me out upon exiting for the replacement, efficient and polite. Every single associate I interacted with was great; customer service throughout my whole trip was amazing! I appreciate everyone's conversation & efforts in making this trip home (Chicago will forever be home to me) such a positive memory for me. My overall experience of renting a car from Enterprise, at the Chicago O'Hare airport, was pretty good. Really, no complaints. To tell you a bit about renting from this location, what you will need to do is find the tram in the terminal that will take you to where Enterprise is located, as it is a bit off of the main area of the airport. I will warn you that there are not a lot of great signs in Chicago O'Hare airport directing you to where you are supposed to go to catch the tram. It's kind of like one of those scenes in a comedy movie where there are numerous signs all pointing you in different directions. It feels a little bit like that. We did, however, find the tram, though we were weren't quite sure we were on the right tram. We were, however, and we did arrive at the location where all of the Rent-A-Car agencies are located. The main thing to note about the tram is that you need to take it to the end of the line. That's where you will find all of the car rental agencies, including Enterprise. When you get to this final tram stop, it's pretty easy to find Enterprise at that point, as the signs are very clear. We had rented and checked in online, so we didn't have to stand in line for anything. We just went straight to the car pick up area. We had to wait a couple of minutes until somebody came to help us, as the other staff members were all taking people to their cars. But, it was pretty quick. No complaints. The staff member showed us our car. We got in, and we were all set to go. The only problem was, I didn't know where the FOB was. The one thing the staff member could've done was to tell me that the FOB was on the floor under the seat. Because, for a few minutes, I was thinking I needed to go and chase him down to find out where it was. But then, my wife noticed it. So, we were on our way. As we were driving out, we did have a slight problem, with the credit card we used to rent the car. The card we used was actually in my wife's name, but they wanted the credit card to be in the driver's name, which was me. But, the girl at the kiosk station was very knowledgeable. I handed her my credit card, she changed everything. And, we were good to go. Overall, it took about ten minutes. No big deal. My credit card was put on the bill, the the money we had already paid to rent the car on my wife's credit card was refunded. And, we were on our way. Plus, the staff member gave us a few important tips about the toll roads around the area, and why we should purchase the toll road additive to our rental. Which we did. She was very nice. Very knowledgeable. And, very helpful. If you're at Chicago O'Hare and you need to rent a car, I don't think you can go too wrong with Enterprise. read more

Better professionalism coming from the employees especially when it comes to explaining the policy in full. I was left stranded for 10 plus hours due to management not explaining the rental policy and return itinerary. I was not honored the rental even after showing a return itinerary and being an enterprise member. Everyone walked from behind the counter and kept saying I'm sorry. Hats off to the Enterprise team at O'Hare Airport! Our need for a rental car was tied to a devastating family event, with stress compounded by the loss of a wallet. The folks at the Lost & Found were helpful. We were not hopeful. Boom! Wallet left in the car returned to us in days -- with $400 cash still in it. See, there are good people out there! That's just the beginning. I failed to mention our actual experience: Upon entering the lot to pick up a car, employees made eye contact to welcome us. The lot is a large, cavernous area so you don't have your bearings about where to go, where it's safe to stand, and Enterprise people took care of us, leading us through the process and to our car. This was in stark contrast to a car rental experience at a competitor the week prior. At the competitor, we were not greeted. Instead, an employee -- standing 25 feet from us -- waved his arms at us and pointed to a running vehicle. When I started to walk toward him, he waved me off, "No! That car! That car!" So we got into a car, not really sure it was for us. We couldn't figure out how to make it go. Electric vehicle had no running motor sound (we didn't know it was an EV). Before trying enterprise I was spending alot on ubers to and from work for almost a whole month, thinking renting would be more expensive, not the case! So happy with the whole experience. Went to the Orland Park location and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Super fast and easy. Only thing is you do need 300 bucks for a deposit, most people probably don't have like me so had to borrow from someone. You do get it back though. I rented from this same place a year ago and had AMAZING service!! This time was HORRIBLE!! I reserved a car using the "You click, we pick" (I was told that was the best way to reserve last year). Well the guy took us out to the first car... a Nissan Altima. I asked for something a bit higher profile, not one sitting on the ground. I drive a Dodge 2500 diesel truck. I am TERRIFIED of low to the ground vehicles. He said, nope this is what you get. He then had me sign the 3 spots...I asked.. what am I signing? He said.. the normal stuff. I quickly read what I was signing, and that irritated him by his behavior of grunting and sighing. He then left us. Did not walk around the car to check for damages, did not give us the keys.. just left and went back into the building. We searched for the keys, but could not find them. The car started so we knew they were in the car. I went back into the building for assistance. I very nice lady came out to help us. They ended up being behind the seat. Then we remembered we had asked for a copy of the agreement bc we needed it to get on base...So, back into the building I went. Everyone was standing around, no customers. I got the receipt and left. The car was terrifying! The weather was raining and snow, the roads were filled with potholes which all made the car a rough ride. It was very difficult for me to even see over the steering wheel bc the seat sat so low. I adjusted it the best that I could. I am not young anymore and crawling in and out of that car was miserable! My son is 6'1" and he struggled in and out of the car. The worker was not aware of his customers needs or willing to listen to their wants. I will have to rent from this place again, but I will make sure my wants and needs are vocal, I am heard, and I will not leave with an unacceptable vehicle. A gentlemen helped me get to my car upon arriving at the car rental facility. The car was a compact and was nice! Directional signs were great on return. Parked it in the return lane, greeted by an Enterprise staff member who explained what needed to be done. Two minutes, maybe one minute and we were out. So easy. They are professional from my experience. Only critique is the online check in would not accept my Visa debit card number. Very disappointed in local Enterprise. My husband called on Friday to reserve (evidently a term they don't understand) a car to pick up Saturday as my vehicle is going into the shop for repairs after a deer hit me. We traveled 45 miles to be told they had no vehicles, we could travel another 30 miles north and possibly get a car. I understand issues happen but why do they "reserve" cars if there is a chance there will be none available. I reserved my Enterprise rental car online, easy peasy. We flew into Ohare Airport in Chicago. There is a tram that takes you to the rental cars, which is actually a smooth process. Once arriving at the rental car area, we only needed to go straight to the garage and pick out the car we wanted. The Enterprise employee in the garage was friendly and made the process simple. Our car was clean, full tank of gas, and drove well. The return process was just as easy. We drove into the garage, handed over our key, and that was it. We then just jumped on the tram and was back at the airport in no time. I highly recommend this Enterprise car rental location. I would most definitely rent from them again. read more

i rented a vehicle from Enterprise on 02/08/25 for one day. The next week I was sent an email for missed tolls. I had not gone through tolls and was in a totally diff city! There aren't any tolls on I-55 to Central Illinois from Chicago. The tolls were in Indiana at Lake Station. I argued with Enterprise for two days. I filed a complaint, but nothing happened! I was ignored! When I rented a month later from a different store Enterprise stole $50 from my card and sent a start with the last 4 num of someone else's credit card. Clearly, that card belongs to the person that rented the same vehicle before me. Almost two months later without a follow up! I plan to sue! Please stay away from Enterprise! They were apologetic but didn't have to be. They are so nice. It got even better after check in when they sent me out to see one of the reps to bring me to my rental. Nick was incredible. I was excited to be in Chicago and upon riding the tram to the car lot, asking for directions the people were ugly like the weather outside... When I got to the rental site, about 30 feet from the desk she greeted me with a warm welcome. I can read people without opening the book. I actually felt welcomed. Liz was her name and she was full of life and light and it showed. She explained the process about my rental return to match my flight so that a deposit wasn't needed. Abhorrent nightmare. A prehistoric beast here to haunt my dreams. Understand! This is NOT the 21st Century. If they fail to email you your Rental Agreement, YOU ARE DOOMED! (they successfully did my first pick-up, but not after I swapped vehicles and payed for my next 30 days) I called requesting they email me what I should've already been emailed. I was told it was IMPOSSIBLE and I would need to visit a physical location. So, I visited "A" physical location, not this original location over an HOUR AWAY. The local location said it's IMPOSSIBLE to print off my rental agreement because they DON'T SHARE DATA BETWEEN LOCATIONS!!! There was also a hole in the footwell of my car and I had to propel it with my feet... at least that's what I would begin to expect from a company who clearly isn't operating in the MODERN AGE! This easily avoidable and inexcusable fact initiated a sequence of follow on issues that have made life hell for a select few members of my organization. My brain is turning to GOO! I fear I may be transformed into an NPC by week's end. If you pay with your own money for this scam you must be brain dead. Like people who pay to watch commercials on cable television. CAVE PEOPLE. If there were negative 5 star reviews I would have selected it. I have NEVER been more upset with a rental car agency in my life. The Miami and Ft Lauderdale Airport Enterprise locations were both unresponsive to our immediate needs to make our flight when the car given to us was an unsafe vehicle and broke down on the highway blocking traffic, with a potentially known faulty transmission. Additionally, it is now 4-16-24 and NO ONE has gotten back to us to apologize, refund us for our terrible experience, or give us a compensated car rental for our troubles and many years of loyalty to this company. We were stranded on the highway on 3/27 and they told us to call highway patrol because it would take them over 2 hours to help us. Highway patrol said they could not tow the vehicle and told us to call them and have their Miami staff sit with the vehicle. When they were unresponsive highway patrol waited with the car until they drove the 2 miles to get their car so we could make our flight. I talked with 9 different departments and individuals over the past 3 weeks and no one has gotten back to me even though they claim they will within 2-3 business days. The only communication I have received back is a receipt of them charging my credit card on 3/29. We used the car for a total of 1.5 hours from Ft. Lauderdale airport to our Miami hotel and to the Miami airport. I have called and left messages that were recorded to MANY people. They were unable to connect me to Ft. Lauderdale Airport's Enterprise personnel nor Miami even though I have ALWAYS been able to speak to a live person immediately at every other Enterprise I have ever rented from as a loyal customer throughout the Midwest and East coast airports. I am beyond dissatisfied and have canceled payment for this experience. I should sue Enterprise for knowingly giving us a car that had a faulty transmission. DO NOT rent from the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale airports. If you have any problems they will not give you any assistance. They will also not honor what you pay for in terms of car types.
