Jessica Ash is incredibly talented and honest. In the photo wearing a green dress Jessica did both my hair and makeup for a wedding. In the past, I have had other salons do my makeup and hates it because it was way too much for my taste. I explained to Jessica I wanted a understated glam look and she was on point! It was perfect for me; I felt pretty and glam, but not fake. I love that Jessica's listens and really understands. I highly recommend her for makeup and hair. She has been doing my hair for 10 years and it's never looked healthier. read more

I had a terrible experience with hair color and cut. They burned about 6 inches off in the top back when dyeing my hair. They did a quick cut job and left me with one layer at about my chin with no other blending layers and left the rest of my hair very long. I looked like a parakeet had a baby with billy ray cyrus (a long mullet met a parakeet or alfalfa). When I told the manager, she simply said she was sorry I wasn't 100% satisfied with my experience and told me I had a lot of regrowth at the bottom- problem is, I wasn't even close to 100% satisfied. Not to mention, they burned the TOP of my hair not the bottom. Additionally, having a lot of regrowth is no grounds to burn my hair clear off. Knowing that accidents happen, and while I was there, all the ladies were so nice, I decided to simply email and let them know the issue so that it wouldn't "accidentally" happen again. Instead, I was met with little to no empathy. Hence, my review. I will not be back. And I hope they at least did learn from this experience so it doesn't happen again. read more

There prices are all over the place. I booked for a blow dry that they charged me SIXTY dollars for!!!!! I can get a haircut and blow dry for less than that. Also to note that I only found out that they charged me this much by looking at my bank statement. I was told "$38" when I checked out at the desk. I called back to let them know that I was charged an additional $20. Sandy answered when I called, refused to let me speak to a manager and said she would call back. The manager didn't call me back for over 6 hours. The manager was as helpless as the first person I talked to. If you think spending $60 on a BLOWDRY is for you then this is the place for you. read more

Came into town for a wedding and needed my roots touched up along with a trim. I called and Molly answered the phone - she was very pleasant and able to get me an appointment with Angie. Angie was extremely friendly and such a sweetheart. She touched up my roots perfectly, trimmed my hair and blew out. If I lived in the area I would come here on a regular basis. read more

Meghan is amazing! I was recommended to her by a friend who also goes to her. She's colored my hair and done highlights plus done rose gold hair the last two times. When I ask for just a trim, she always done just that and nothing more. The salon in Danvers is really nice and kept very clean. Bad salon and management. I canceled my appointment due to covid and they still charged me. When I spoke to management (Jessica Ash) about it their defense was that I had canceled appointments in the past. Additionally hair results are mediocre, I went to Lilly. read more

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good balayage or cut here, the stylist gave me a horrible color and looked nothing like I asked and it was patchy. I had to go to a good friend of mine to get it fixed and she had to fix a lot, even the cut. My whole family said my hair looked really bad. read more

I went to Carl Michael salon for my first haircut in months and saw Kara. She was absolutely awesome! She looked at the pictures I brought and listened to the issues I was having with my hair since having my son and gave me so many good tips and assured me it was all normal and not forever. She was so welcoming, sweet and attentive not to mention super talented at what she does. I made sure to book my next appointment with her before I left. I came to this salon a few weeks ago in search of a hair stylist who would take on a conquest denied by most. I had bright red hair and I wanted to go platinum blonde. Most stylists shut me down at the thought of the project, all but Jeffrey at Carl Michael. Jeffrey took on the project with open arms. He scheduled me readily and always compromised to make an appointment at a time convenient for ME. I cannot say enough great things about this salon. The positive energy and welcoming personalities of the stylists is incomparable to any other salon I've been to. Jeffrey did an incredible job on my hair. He was patient, reassuring, and amazing to work with. I was lucky to be a guest of Jeffrey and Salon Carl Michael. I would recommend this salon to anyone! I had been seeing my hairdresser for almost 20 years and I just couldn't get what I needed done for my hair. After a year of debating with myself I decided that I needed to at least give another salon a try. Two of my daughters and two of my granddaughters have been going to Carl Micheal and specifically Jackie Silva. Their hair is always beautiful. After spending a little over three hours getting color correction for my "orange" hair with Jackie and help from two other lovely ladies, my hair looks beautiful and is the blond shade I've been wanting for years. I just can't believe how pretty my hair is. So it is now official, I have a new hair dresser / miracle worker in Jackie. She listened when I gave her information about how my hair pulls red and that I take a long time to lift. I've been going to Carl Michael since last year after being recommended by a friend and I love it there!! They are true professionals. Their attention to detail, dedication to staying educated on modern styling, and noteworthy customer service are what keeps coming back again and again. With their guidance I have been able to try new colors and cuts that I never would have been brave enough to try before--all while keeping my hair in healthy condition. All of the stylists there are great, but I have mostly made appointments with Kara & Jess at the Danvers location. They are both sweethearts and talented stylists!!
