STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. I had my father living here for 5 months…read moreand our experience was horrible. I wasn't sure whether or not to listen to the previous bad reviews but we really needed the help since my father could no longer take care of himself 100%. The caretakers were great help but I'm not sure why there are only 2 people expected to take care of over 60 residents?? We paid over $5000 monthly and it was not worth it. They tried to charge us for every single little thing and snuck charges in for things we did not approve. The director and other managerial staff seemed nice but I have witnessed on multiple occasions, upper management bullying their staff on the floor. Get a grip! This place is a scam and just wants your money. Please just get in home care like we are doing now. Save the money and the headache/heartache!

Today I spoke with Preeha the executive director, to clarify some information. Both my grandma and…read moremyself were on speaker to ask some questions to bring us relief. Instead of having patience and compassion while my confused grandmother is trying to calm down, she ridiculed my grandma and me. She would not refrain from interrupting me, even though I showed her respect and did not do that to her. She was rude in the manner she spoke to my grandmother, over some confusion or misunderstanding that my grandmother was having. She showed no empathy and basically said spare her the family drama, "family dynamics". There was no professionalism towards my grandmother which raises concern to think is this how she is with the elderly there, smh. My grandmother struggles to speak due to her stroke, preeha showed no compassion for that. All she did was get upset with my grandmother and interrupted her many times while she was trying to speak. No manners, especially someone of her position should know better and have better control over her personal emotions. If she cannot hold her composure over a phone call imagine her in person. I spoke calm, and just had some questions to ask for my grandmother, preeha was so condescending in the way she spoke to me. My grandmother was getting upset on the phone but I was calmly handling that but preeha on the other end was annoyed and made sly comments of why it took me a week to respond to them. Two sides to every story but she was quick to make accusations and made threats as well. At the end of the conversation she again interrupted my sentence and said irritated loudly, if we had any other questions so she could hang up on us. Funny because she wasn't interested in being calm or respectfully resolve our question that we were trying get cleared up. (she just wanted to hang up). Not a place my grandmother was meant to be at, thank you God for showing us her true colors ahead of time. My grandmother is meant to be at a healthy, loving, not hostile, safe and fun environment which is San Jose location. They are empathic and trained properly to handle emotions of elderly. God bless anyways, especially the patients stuck here.

I do not recommend North Park Post Acute…read more My mother was transferred here from Kaiser after partial hip replacement surgery. The level of care given to my mother by the staff at North Park Post Acute was sub-standard. The staff did not provide the necessary and required support care. Her medical needs were not monitored - although on her chart from her physician and daily requested by family members. She was not given baths/showers, she did not get assistance to dress in the mornings, she did not get assistance to get to the toilet (often took 45 mins+ to get a response from the call buzzer before a nurse/CNA came to her room). The overall care was significantly less than adequate. I discussed my concerns with the staff, but was told it was someone else's responsibility (day staff blamed night staff and night staff blamed the day staff). I even spoke with the nursing supervisor, while she was polite and professional, there were no changes to the level of care my mother received. After a few days, we transferred my mother to a rehab facility in Modesto - the care there is significantly better. I should note, the lobby and check-in desk were acceptable - the patient rooms are not maintained and are in serious need of cleaning (trash on the floor, dirty bathroom: blood from another patients in the bathroom - for multiple hours, that led to blood in the bathroom overnight), and the walls in the patient rooms were in need of repair (very bad patch jobs in large areas of the sheetrock/drywall). Bottomline: Do not send anyone you love or care about here!

North Park Post-Acute Care gave me extreme quality of care, very kind, extremely compassionate, and…read moretook care of me as if I were family. The nurses, CNA's, PT's, and OT's all deserve 10+ stars. The team listened to me, and answered each one of my questions. They worked with me daily so that I would be able to go home, and be safe in my own house. I would recommend North Park to everyone. The care and compassion they showed to each and every patient was amazing. I have a few people I would like to give a shout out to. Nurses Kyle, Biddy, Alejandra, Joshua, Zaid, Jocelyn, and all the nurses that helped me during this challenging time. The CNA's Joshua, Gladis, Deana, Louisa, Jasvir, Kiwimder, Kamuii, Debora, Phony, Bell, and all of their co-workers that helped me. The PT/OT department was outstanding. They worked with me compassionately while challenging me during every visit. I'd like to give a shout out to Anne Marie. I hope that's how she spells her name. She was my OT that worked with me every visit, helping me to build up my strength and my upper body, and my balance for when I returned home. She was a kind, compassionate professional, who again treated me just like I was family. There is PT that worked with me most of my days, and her nickname was G. I hope I'm right about that. She had me challenge my range of motion, which helped me continue to improve with my treatment. Again, she was kind, compassionate and treated me like family. I would give this whole facility 500% if I could. There was all so a specialty nurse named Porsche who helped to care for my incision. She is well trained for dealing with wound care. She worked with me multiple times to make sure that my incision was healing properly, and being taken care of professionally. She explained everything to me that she was doing, and she made me feel at ease and comfortable with her work. I want her, thank her for her care, wisdom, compassion. Please know that if you or your family member goes to this facility be cared for and treated with compassion.
