I've brought several of my cats here for several years and I've also used their boarding services. The phone is always ringing and when I call it's always busy, but when I get through it's all good. I know they care for a lot of cats b/c why else would the phones be ringing consistently. I wish they had a appointment service appt. vs waiting on someone to pick up the phone, but I know that could be costly and will take time for people to get use to it. Everything, attitude...they killed my cat..24 hours after my visit my female went into kidney failure. I didn't normally use this vet but my groomer was on vacation. 25 hours ater her appointment i rushed her to my regular vet and had to put her to sleep she was in full blown kidney failure actually 12 hours after they saw her..the 24 hours later my other cat was rushed to my vet. A heart issue probably seeing his friend die before his eyes. He had to be euthanized. This is a long story short. But im getting sick of nasty medicine and care. read more

Caring for Cats is a very nice clinic with a lovely staff; Dr Arnold knows her stuff and keeps things concise. The only downside is that the clinic is super busy - it's hard to get a hold of them on the phone sometimes, but they are always professional and quick to help once you do get through. I've been bringing my cats to Dr Arnold since I first got my beloved Chelsea. Dr Arnold took great care of her for 17 years til she had to go to Rainbow Bridge in 2008. Then in 2015 my boyfriend decided to adopt from a shelter but because it was so close to Christmas, they were all out of kitties, so I went on Craigslist and found my King-a 1 year old whose owner couldn't have cats per his lease agreement. We also were not allowed to have pets but King is an angel and never made a peep even when maintenance came around. We've since moved to a cat friendly town house so my boyfriend brought home a new kitty that he named Johnathan. Poor Johnny has had to see Dr Arnold more than King but she is always caring and professional. She is the best kitty doctor around. I just pray that she doesn't retire until after I die lol read more

I have used C4C for years. They are the most reasonably priced vet around. Dr. Arnold is fabulous. She has savedcats that emergency vets wanted to terminate and did it and a cost I could afford. this past week I had a senior cat have issues. The practice fit me in, did a thorough exam, and assured me the cat had not had a neurological incident. I cannot say enough good things about this vet. read more

Been going here since the practice opened decades ago. After reading some of the other reviews I am in disbelief but don't want to discredit anyone's experience. I just wanted to say that Dr Arnold knows a lot about cats and common cat illnesses. Many times she has saved us money by only doing what is necessary for tests and she's never been wrong when she suspected what it was or suggested a treatment etc. If it ever was more advanced we were referred to specialists who could diagnose or treat more advanced illnesses, and even then she still knew what it likely was and sent us in the right direction. If we couldn't afford to go that route we were always given helpful options. We never had an issue. I can only wonder if some of the bad reviews were from when the Second Lady dr was there who was a cold person but she's long gone now. dr Arnold is the only vet I trust. read more

Caring for cats has changed and not for the better. I had lost my sweet Baby as a result of that place. I had been going there for years and thousands of dollars spent keeping my Baby healthy and alive and buying medicated food that was needed. Staff forgot to reorder the special food she had been on for years and I asked what I was supposed to do and the young girl behind the counter put her hands in the air and said I don't know and another girl said to give her a pill everyday that didnt work. Amazing off-the-beat spot! Our cat typically isn't very comfortable with strangers as she's just around me and my mother. Dropping her off, we instantly felt at ease as we realized this was 100% a cat's home away from home. Caring for Cats is essentially all cats only and employ obvious "cat people". The whole environment is meant for cats of all kinds and we loved that! The only protest they got from our girl is when it was time to put her back in the carrier to go home! This is definitely going to be our go-to for all feline services! Highly recommend if you're looking for a great boarding place for your kitties. read more

I brought my cat in because he wasn't eating and judt not acting like he normally does. The Vet just did a quick look at him and didn't really do a through exam at all. My cat started acting scared and breathing hard. The Vet put my sweet little boy cat on the floor where he started losing his pee and died on the FLOOR from what I assume was a heart attack. The Vet walked away and left him there. Really? If you are looking for a compassionate Vet you won't find it at Caring For Cats. This Vet also gave my other cst a shot after I told her not to give any shots because she has allergic reactions. She quickly did it anyway and I watched my beautiful cat die right in front of me from the shot. So I am warning you not to use this Vet. It should be called "uncaring for Cats" read more

i come here all the time i have 6 cats and when i called to schedule an appointment at 5:40pm my call was answered by a young female receptionist & the way she handled our conversation was very rude and dismissive she spoke very flat and sounded annoyed by me asking her simple questions like if they did FIV testing there and most importantly made it seem like the doctor no longer worked there and that i wasn't able to make any appointments i asked for help recommended an emergency vet for cats she told me to call around myself and figure it out i was very shocked and upset by this treatment I tried to ask when the doctor would be back and the receptionist hung up the phone on me then disconnected the lines because they were 'closed' ive been coming here since 2014 regularly and to be treated like my animals health didnt matter shows alot how this place truly operates when nobody is watching. it says caring for cats but they don't care at all about your cats well-being or providing helpful knowledgeable support. they are comfortable enough to treat a customer openly like a burden and that is just unacceptable. read more

Love this place HOWEVER.... a) No email I have no email address to send your cats info to. With COVID just where in the heck am I to find a FAX machine? What year is this again 1990 what? b) No answering machine. I have been trying to reach these people since 9am this morning... It's now almost 3. My cat has gone here since she was a kitten and while they have always been unorganized and pretty rude (including Dr. Arnold), they were cheap and local so we stuck around. My experience the last couple of months however has just been blatant malpractice and mistreatment and needs to be told. In February I took my cat to emergency one night due to stomach issues. They gave my cat medicine, took xrays, and sent the results off to a third party site for further examination. This third party sent the results to Dr. Arnold. A staff member called me and was unprofessional through the whole call. She kept giggling and was eating during the call so she had to keep pausing to chew, and even though SHE was the one to call me, she started off the conversation by saying they had results and asked if I needed them or if I was all good. I asked her for the results and to please clarify with the vet first. After talking to Dr. Arnold, she told me that her stomach was fine but that she has a mass IN her lung. They wanted me to get an ultrasound from a different office to diagnose the mass. I asked to have the third party report sent over to me and learned that the staff member was completely incorrect - there was no mass IN my cat's lung, it was in her chest cavity. Regardless, I still set up the ultrasound per Dr. Arnold's instructions. When I went for the ultrasound I found out that Dr. Arnold referred my cat to get an ultrasound for her stomach....not for her chest, where the actual mass was. Not only that, but Caring for Cats did not send over the original report or x-ray, so the doctor there had no idea what he was supposed to be looking for. The vet there explained ultrasounds can be done on the stomach but aren't as effective on the chest because the images aren't clear. He did the ultrasound anyways and 575$ later told me he knew nothing and that I should make another x-ray appointment at Caring for Cats in April to see if that mass gets any bigger (he said if it's bigger, it's probably cancer, and if it's not, it's fine. Top-tier diagnosing skills all around) This brings me to yesterday. I brought my cat in and the receptionist seemed confused as to why I was there. She was looking through my cat's folder (this place has no electronic system - everything is hand written and crammed into folders) and couldn't figure out why I was there so I had to explain the situation to her. Then I get in the exam room with Dr. Arnold. I re-explained the situation and told her I was there to get an x-ray of my cat's chest done to see if the original mass has grown at all. She said okay and took my cat back for the x-ray. BEFORE she took my cat back I reminded her that my cat gets very anxious at the vet and can be aggressive so that they usually give her a calming spray before handling her. She ignored this and took my cat back anyways and within a minute I heard my cat screaming and heard for Dr. Arnold frantically yelling for help from one of the staff up front. About 10 minutes later they had the X-ray done and she called me back to look at the results. Dr. Arnold said she was "hardly able to see anything" and it "probably wasn't a tumor" and that we should just "leave it at that" (exact words). I asked her about the comparison to the first x-ray, and she said they don't have the first x-ray so she was unable to compare sizes. I told her that's unacceptable and that the reason we were here was to compare the mass size from x-ray 1 to x-ray 2. I offered to call to the other location and ask for the first x-ray to be sent over, but she said that there was no need. I told her that I would not be paying for this visit then because I very clearly explained to her why we were there and she was refusing to do the service I was paying for. She said fine, I was "difficult" anyways, and said she would no longer be my cat's vet before starting to literally nudge me out of the room with her clipboard (who does that?!). About an hour later I called to have my cat's records emailed to me and was told that they don't have email capabilities (???), but that they can fax it to me. This place is fine for basic shots, but falls apart once skill and care is needed. Months and hundreds of dollars later I have dealt with incompetent staff, given an incorrect diagnoses, was sent for a costly and incorrect ultrasound, and then dealt with disgraceful mistreatment yesterday. Moral of the story, don't take your pets here. read more

Dr. Arnold and her staff are excellent. Dr. Arnold is outstanding at diagnosing problems with my cats that others did not. She is the only doctor who does not take the cat in the back to do blood work. She does it in the exam room which is much more comfortable for my cats. She is always on time and gives you her full attention during your visit. Many of her staff have been with her for years and are very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

My orange tabby went to Dr. Arnold for 16 years. I brought my kitty on Oct 10th because something was wrong. His diabetes came back, he had kidney failure and losing weight. He was put on no medicine. I called yesterday morning crying. He was lethargic, blood in urine, very weak in pain. Scheduled apt for early morning. They call back and say they have to change apt to late afternoon. I got back at 12 noon saying he is much worse. They then tell me to go to emergency vet. After 16 years she turned her back on my Buddy. Emergency vet was awesome. I had to put him down. They couldn't believe he wasn't on insulin. Please do not go to caring for cats. Dr Arnold rushed thru visits and just doesn't care. She should have room for emergencies. My other cats are no longer going there. read more

Caring for Cats is a convenient vet close by very affordable. I truly love Dr. Arnold she is companionate and caring with all cats but especially mine who is catzilla hates vets and Dr Arnold was so good with him helping him with an upper respiratory infection and shots. When my other Siamese was dying she did everything she could to save him until the end. He went peaceful . Dr Arnold called us and checked up on us and even sent us a card sorry for your loss. My experiences have been uniformly positive at CfC. Both doctors (Arnold (and Hartman - now at another practice)) have provided very good care. When two cats were exported to another country, Lisa completed and verified all paperwork related to the drawing of blood for a rabies titer. They have also timely completed paperwork to have a necropsy performed at Cornell. So highly recommended. By the way re: smell - that is disinfectant used to keep areas clean. It has a noticeable smell. It's not cat urine. read more

I have been taking my cats to Caring for Cats since I adopted a kitten in 2012. They are extremely knowledgeable and have always taken great care of my kitties. I know that Dr. Hartman can get a bad rap, but she has always done what is best for my kitties. She is a straight shooter which some people just don't like, but when my one cat was attacked by our neighbor's dog she cleared her schedule and gave him all of the care that he needed to survive. For that I am extremely grateful to her. She saved his life. I have two new kittens and I will be taking them to Caring for Cats as well. They have earned my business and my trust! read more
