Jerk Chicken entree with rice & peas, macaroni pie, cabbage mix, and 2 plantains! Enough for 2 meals!
    Brooke A.

I was visiting the farmers market with friends, hadn't had Caribbean in a while and decided to check this place out! Of course I came to Yelp and made my choices based on the reviews I read. I chose the jerk chicken entree which comes with 3 sides and plantains. For my sides I chose rice and peas, macaroni pie and since they were out of bhagee/sautéed spinach I had the cabbage mix instead. $20 may seem a bit steep for the entree however I found it to be plentiful enough for 2 meals since there were 4-5 pieces of chicken parts and large portions of each side except for the plantains which there were only 2. The jerk chicken fell off the bone, very flavorful, and had a nice heat to it! Ask for jerk sauce for added heat with slight sweetness! The macaroni pie tasted like someone's soulful grandma made it. The rice and peas had the perfect balance of rice and peas with flavor. The cabbage was sautéed yet fresh, and the plantains were cooked to perfection. The lady working was very nice and patient even with a constantly forming line. My wait time was only 10 minutes which isn't bad when the reward at the end is a very delicious and filling meal.

The food was incredible! everything was flavorful! it had a little kick to it but perfect! I'm very picky on macaroni but this one was definitely one of my favorites! The spinach was also one of favorite as well, also the rice and peas! Chicken was tender and seasoned well! The drinks were delicious! it paired well with the food, they weren't too sweet! My mom's had rum in it (orange drink), mine was non-alcoholic. I definitely going back soon when I can get downtown! :)

The service was not bad, like the section of the market they are located in. Good customer service. The food, mmmm. I got the curry goat roti. It was a large roti, but I suggest cutting back on the salt. There is too much salt. Goat meat is not salty. I grew up eating Roti, and I am from a Caribbean island that perfects the art of West Indian foods. But this roti is big, so cut back on the salt.

Whenever I need a fix for some good Caribbean food downtown I head here. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. And the food can be a tad bit pricey for the quantity/portion size (not all items but a couple things like the jerky chicken ) but its worth it becuase it's delicious

I'm so sorry to have to leave this review but this was by far the worst Caribbean food I've had. The rice in the rice and peas was gummy and no flavor, the spinach was soupy and tasteless, the cabbage was under cooked and again flavorless the curry chicken lacked curry, was watery and overcooked. My BFF got the same except she got jerk chicken and the jerk chicken was a little better but not by much. The vegetables were the same. If I could them less than one star I would. Needless to say I asked for a full refund and it was given. It's in the Dallas Farmers market so it's an open seating concept.

Had to stop by here to try their drinks! This place is located inside the Dallas Farmer's Market and has plenty of food to offer. However, we were a bit full from lunch, so just decided to try their refreshing drinks. We asked the server what the best flavor was, and he suggested that we try a mix of the mango and the sorrel. I am super glad we did, because it was SO GOOD. Drink $4.50: This was well worth it. I wish they had a larger size. It was so refreshing and sweet. I have never tried sorrel before, so it was definitely a great experience! Will be back to try the soursop! Overall, this is purely a review for the drinks, but if the drink was this great, I am sure the food was as well! See you next time I am in Texas!

Service and food were great. Loved the space they're in, and the ambiance of the collective shops and food. Beef patties hit. Oxtails hit. The only qualms would be the rice n peas weren't the best.

I always wanted to try some halal jerk chicken and I was visiting so I thought to check this place out. I definitely think I got the wrong thing, because it was alright, not as hyped as the reviews made it seem, but I would definitely need to try more menu items to confirm. The jerk chicken wasn't saucy, seemed dry, wasn't very flavorful. The sandwich was HUGE though, lol I wanted something light and this monster of a beast came out haha. But glad I tried it though. If I'm ever in Dallas again I'll come check it out again.

When my husband and I came to check out the Dallas Farmers' Market, we were not expecting to come across some bomb Caribbean cuisine. What initially caught my eye was the colorful drinks so hubby and I decided to check 'em out. What hooked us to come and eat was their customer service. The owner was very accommodating and really took the time to talk to his customers. We ended up getting a vegetable roti, beef patty, veggie patty and the rum punch. We devoured the patty right away. The texture and flavor of the crust is great, paired with the well flavored fillings, it was a party in our mouths. My husband is from NY and he said he felt like he was back home. The roti's portion was enormous so we split it. The way they served it was they served the fillings wrapped in their homemade roti like a burrito. The garbanzo was beautifully cooked and when ate altogether with the tamarind sauce + their homemade habanero sauce, it was another party in our mouths again. Don't even get me started with their rum punch. Initially, I thought it was too sweet and I couldn't taste the alcohol at first, but that thing is one of those sneaky drinks that you won't notice until you're already tipsy. If we can give this place 6 stars, we would!

When we walked in, it was only people of color, so that indicator probably meant that i was in for a good authentic meal. The interior had multiple tables spreads around and on the right side of the building it was where the people were taking orders and preparing the food to take to your table. We ended up getting coco bread, chicken stew and half jerk chicken with fries. The stew came with two side dishes, so we ended up getting rice&peas and collar greens. The jerk chicken only came with fries but it was only 13 bucks. you do have the option to get jerk chicken with two sides, but that would have been 19 dollars. The coco bread was really fully and if you dip it into the stew chicken, it takes it to another level. Both dishes were excellent and the kick on the jerk chicken was spicy but not too bad where you couldn't enjoy it. Service was great, and they were friendly. Located right behind the McDonalds. All in all, i'll come back if i'm in the area.

I came in for lunch and ordered the jerk chicken lunch special with beans and rice and a side salad. The chicken was incredibly tender--fall-apart, melt-in-your-mouth good--and packed with flavor. Fair warning, it definitely brings the heat! It's on the spicy side, but in the best way possible. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere adds to the whole experience. There was lively music playing, colorful decor throughout, and a beautiful Jamaican beach mural that makes you feel like you've stepped out of Texas for a minute. The establishment itself is small and when entering it isn't entirely clear if one is supposed to sit at a table and wait for a menu or order at the counter. Our server was very nice and answered our questions as we tried to figure out what best to eat. Overall the food tasted good though I think I'm used to a more robust flavor. I would give the place more stars but for a few things: (1) it was 70ish degrees outside but it was warmer inside the restaurant (seemed like they had the heat going very strong); (2) there were cartoons playing on the only TV and it might have been nice to have music or other Chanel options but there were kids present so presumably the cartoons were for them; and (3) we were told there were no restroom facilities. This latter issue was very surprising as I believe it is against state regulations to not have public restrooms in an eatery. A sign alerting customers to this inconvenience might also be advisable.
