    Karie DeHoog and Christina Garza at Cardinal Escrow made our first home buying experience a breeze. They were responsive and helpful in explaining our loan docs and closing docs. And walked us through the wiring instructions. They even included an electronic copy of the docs in a password protected USB.

    UPDATE: 11/30/18. I finally decided to call back and spoke with Rich A. We talked a bit and I…read moretold him what I wanted - to take some of my equity and payoff credit card debt - refinancing my mortgage. Initially he said he would put together a package. A little while later I got an email saying we were not at the correct LTV ratio to refinance. WHAT THE!!? Ok I am new to mortgages but I thought you could refinance at ANY time, not just when you have under 80% and can lose the mortgage insurance. Also, he should have known that while initially on the phone with him. I told him specifically what our mortgage was, how much I wanted for CC and what our home should appraise at. Btw, they check the value of your home based on websites like Redfin and Zillow and Trulia. We've done some extensive remodeled which obviously would not be reflected in the websites estimates- but that wasn't even taken into account. Our home was flat valued at market rate for the AVERAGE unit in our area. No thought of compensating for the kitchen gutting and remodel or the bathroom refresh, which can add serious value to equity. Not even a suggestion of an appraisal Just a flat out "we cannot help you" Hmm, someone out there will refinance us and get a good chunk of change doing it - and we will pay off our CC's and still have tons of equity -just not with these folks. My wife and I worked with Liz on the purchase of our new dream house in Orange County. From the start she was going above and beyond what we were expecting. We called rather suddenly when a property showed up on the market and scheduled to go see it with her. We weren't seriously looking before this. By the time we got to the property she and her team already had a good understanding of the history of the listing and were working comps real time to give us a clear understanding of what fair market value would be. Even adjusting it for what we were seeing in person at the property. We weren't certain if it was more of a buyer's market or a seller's market as it had been a seller's market for so long, but she explained the current conditions/trends of what she was seeing in the area and gave us EXCELLENT advice every step of the way. But she was also never pushy. She ultimately left it up to us to make the decision with the information she provided. We trusted her expertise and it absolutely paid off, literally. We got a deal on the property that we are very happy with. She offered great advice on everything from prices, timing, and even when to potentially walk away. Liz has a team of people that really seem to communicate as a team, not just a group of individuals working under the same company name. In passing conversations Liz talked about how she and her team work together, and it does seem like they get to share in each others expertise and experiences to develop a good understanding of the market. Liz also talked about what she does to train her team, and she seems like a great leader. No one looks left behind to fend for themselves, and it seems very structured so that everyone has support and training to deliver great customer service. Liz has a great reputation in the area which I think was a huge benefit in our case. The seller's Realtor already knew Liz and trusted her. We happened to meet the seller's Realtor, and even without Liz present, the seller's Realtor had nothing but great things to say about their interactions. Her expertise really does seem to be in demand as she seemed to be giving seminars or talks to audiences even outside of her team. Even with her busy schedule it never really impacted the scheduling of events at our home. She always still met us at the property for events like home inspections, walk throughs, and giving us the keys to the property. She always provided great communication and was very responsive whether it was through e-mail, calls or texts to help answer questions. I can be "particular" (picky) about some things and whenever I brought up a question or concern, no matter how small, she never dismissed it or tried to excuse it as something I didn't need to worry about. She took my concerns seriously and got them addressed. Out of everything, I think this is what I am most grateful for as it kept me comfortable working with her and I never felt like she was just trying to "close a deal", which was my preconceived notion of Realtors unfortunately. She really does seem to care for her clients and making sure they are happy. I would 100% work with Liz again!

From understanding your own finances to navigating the real estate market and endless terminology, it's easy to become paralyzed and lost in the storm. This is where John comes in; he is the lighthouse guiding you safely back to harbor. John has deep industry experience. He understands the market, what's out there, and exactly how the process works. Most importantly, he listens. He truly understands your situation and has your best interests at heart. John remembers your goals and what you said would make you happy, using that as a compass for every decision. At times when we couldn't find the right fit and I started to deviate, he would remind me of my original vision to ensure I didn't settle. I'm going to say it twice: he truly has your best interests at heart. I have a tendency to push my limits, and John wasn't afraid to step in and advise me when something might overburden my finances. He isn't just trying to close a deal and meet numbers; he cares about your future. He is incredibly patient. There was definitely a learning curve for me, but John understands that everyone learns differently. He took the time to rephrase complex concepts and provided examples to ensure I fully understood every step. He never made me feel "dumb" for asking questions; you can tell he genuinely cares through his tone and approach. John is also remarkably responsive. Pat Hale worked hard to find a property that was right for us. She consistently let us know when houses that met our requirements became available, and didn't waste our time on houses that were outside our desired neighborhoods or price point. She never rushed us. We definitely felt Pat was looking out for our best interest and not just looking to make the next sale. She gave us good solid advice in terms of fair market value, negotiating, etc. In addition, Pat has great contacts; She referred us to an insurance agent we use for all our insurance needs (home +) as well as the mortgage broker we worked with to obtain financing. Home buying can be really stressful, but we didn't feel any apprehension when it came time for us to make an offer on the house we now call home. We had seen enough houses, from fixer-uppers to move in ready, to feel good about the price and property we purchased. Pat did a great job guiding us through the counter offer process.
