The entire office is friendly and welcomes you with a smile even when they make you do something they know is going to hurt to get you better. I've been to other therapists in the past, but these guys have a knack for helping figure out what is going on and working with the doctor to get you back on track. They are also prompt and have extended hours to get you in with less time away from work. I don't think I would still be walking today if it wasn't for their hard work and determination.

At that time, I scheduled both an initial and a follow-up appointment. Unfortunately, I became ill a few days prior to my initial appointment. I called well in advance of the 24-hour cancellation window and spoke with Hannah. I asked whether my follow-up appointment could be converted to the initial visit, with the intention of scheduling a new follow-up appointment at a later date. I made it clear that I understood if this request could not be accommodated. During the conversation, Hannah was very rude and made me feel as though my request was an inconvenience. Her tone remained dismissive and annoyed, despite my understanding and flexibility. I work for a local hospital and fully understand the challenges associated with patient cancellations and no-shows. However, I provided appropriate notice and simply inquired about a reasonable adjustment. I felt as though I was being treated as if I were demanding special treatment, which was not the case. Due to this experience, I informed them that I would not be continuing care with their office and would seek services elsewhere.

I spent 3 weeks at Avamere and was shocked at the overall condition of the building. The building…read moresmells moldy & musty, and sure could use a lot of remodeling. There are some very nice caregivers that work there, but having to deal with personnel shortages, and all the other issues, it often wears them down by the end of their shifts. The physical therapy staff is great, and the event planners do a decent job, but the atmosphere has just enough tension to keep the patients restless. The food was the worst thing about being there - truly awful and not that plentiful on some days - heck, I lost weight due to constraint (the one good thing). Even though my room had two patients, the room next door also shared the bathroom. Four older ladies with wheelchairs/walkers to navigate an old narrow bathroom door was miserable. I was given a list of rehab care facility ratings (while in Hospital) and Avamere Sunnyside was at the bottom - yet other Avamere care facilities were quite highly rated...go figure!
