I had my first visit for eyelash extensions today. Since they do not offer volume lashes, this was my first time getting a classic set. I didn't mind because I had seen their work + was very impressed with the results. I am not exaggerating when I say: this is the best my lashes have ever looked! I went here for the first time today, my husband said I could get whatever package I wanted as a Mother's Day gift, so I've really been looking forward to it! I was not disappointed, I had a great experience. I purchased a package where I had use of the sauna, then had a body scrub, massage, lunch and then a facial. It was about four hours total and super relaxing. I have no complaints. Everything was handled in a timely fashion, the ladies who work there were all polite, professional and helped to create a peaceful environment. It smelled so clean when I walked in which made me feel good about what I was getting myself into. I enjoyed the use of the robe and footwear, solidifying the "spa experience." read more

I went today for a spa day for my birthday!! Was greeted promptly by two people. Spent some time in the sauna. Then enjoyed a relaxing massage. My LMT was very attentive to areas I pointed out. The highlight was my facial. I don't remember the ladies name but she checked me in as well. I think Amanda . I'm not big on facials because I am a product junky and do my own thing. This was very different from about 12 facials I've had. Some aestheticians are nervous about extractions. I don't like doing extractions at home so why not at a spa? Give me something I can't do at home or do at home safely! Loved the foot massage that was a first with a facial for me. I'm a foot junkie so that was a plus. Very cute place to spend the morning! My boyfriend and I had a horrible experience, from check in to lack luster massages. While checking in, the front desk lady kept insisting that my appointment included someone else. Well, I'm thinking that should be an easy fix, just change the appointment to reflect the correct names in the reservation. To no avail, she refuses to do so, while she looks at me in utter confusion, as if I, the customer, should fix it. The owner comes out and she characterizes the front desk lady's interaction with me, the customer, as hostile. She proceeds with back and forth, in such a condescending manner. At that point, I'm feeling attacked and as if my boyfriend and I are getting poor treatment because we are black. When this nightmare check in was over, against my own good judgment, we get the couples massage. When I say absolutely poor massages, we will never patronize this place again. To the owner, situations don't need someone who is not willing to empathize with a customer because of your business' failure to address wrongs. Treat everyone fairly and with kindness, and maybe you and your staff should take an implicit bias class. read more

I was there 2 days ago. The service started off good. The front desk was polite. I walked in asking if they by any chance had time the same day. The receptionist said yes at 5. So I waited about 1hour and some. Turned out the tech had left on emergency and I had waited over an hour without being notified. I thought- ok that's fine it happens, the receptionist is new and I dropped in. I was given a discount for it and rescheduled for two days later On the day of appointment: I ask for gel polish. I had a manicure on california already. They explained they couldn't do that and haave to charge me a manicure. So I said ok that's fine. When the tech did my work she said oh your cuticles are fine ( bcs I had a manicure done already) and proceeded to do the work. It was terrible, all the nails are different shaped. I fiannly asked her to just cut them shorter hoping that it would help her shape them better. Nope. I asked for oval and some looked square so I asked her is square easier for you? And she said whatever you'd like. Well YES it is what Id like but it's not getting done. I finally just said you know its ok just put clear polish. I was too emberassed to tell her they looked terrible so I asked her to just do regular polish and id come back. Because OFCOUrSE I'm not going back. In addition, I usually have military discount (thank you for that) and they didn't give me that along with the other discount for the scheduled issue. I basically paid 15.00 for no manicure just a terrible filing job and clear polish. I am Livid to say the least. But more so because I still had to pay for it. Its suppose to be professional. My issue was not with a massage therapist ( the 3 different therapist I have seen are wonderful), the issue is with the front desk. May of 2024 I rec. a text to confirm a massage I never booked. I called & after much back & forth it was cancelled. I had previously scheduled a massage later in May which was entered correctly in their system. Same day I made an appt. for a massage tmrw. ( 6/14/24) I did not receive a confirmation text or email so I called today, it was not in their system. I explained the prior booking problem w/the front desk person who would only tell me that they are booked for tmrw. I spoke w/the manager & went through the entire situation again. She was much more concerned with what day I called to book tmrw. massage - I didn't I booked in person. Although she said she wanted to make it right, she was more focused on dates/times I had called so that she could check thecomputer to find out who didn't book tmrws. appt. I was frustrated & my tone of voice was harsh b/c I cannot move my neck today - which I explained. They never attempted to reschedule tmrws. appt. as she was focused on finding out which employee didn't put the appt. in the computer. At the manager's request I'll be finding a new massage therapist. Hopefully the new front desk employee is taught how to correctly book appts. I received a gift certificate to CaraVails and went last week to get a gel manicure done. My appointment was at 430 - and I did as the website suggested, arrived 15 minuets prior - 415. I already have gel on my nails, so I knew ahead of time that we would have to soak off and remove - not a problem. When they do gel soak off, they place your hands in a warming device that looks like oven mitts. Clearly the polish was strong and done correctly that it took quite some time to get it off completely. After approx 30-40 minuets and removing my hands (because they started to feel a burning sensation) the polish was off. I simply asked for a french gel mani... simple right?? WRONG. After four attempts to lay the white tip down - I simply gave up. Either the machine was broken (they use old, outdated UV lights) or the polish was just too old - but every time I went to place my nails under the light to set - the came out with bubbles on them. Removing the white over and over again and the time this was taking was mildly insane. I ended up opting for a color instead - and the paint job (hack) is less than professional. Truly. They really do not look good at all. I understand the tech felt bad and she did apologize when the french just simply wasn't working - however, the re-do of the single gel color looks awful. I left CaraVails at 7PM! I was there from 415-7PM ... NOT OKAY! I definitely will not be returning. Only reason I gave ONE star is because the nail tech was lovely. She really was kind and a great talker/listener. I applaud her for her communication skills - however, her nail tech skills are sub par. read more

I recently visited this spa with a couple of my co-workers. My job actually treated us to a spa day as a way to show it's appreciation of our hard work. What a treat!! We were given the deluxe spa package to indulge in. We were promptly greeted by the friendly receptionist. After filling out the paperwork, we were sent back to the room where the two pedicure tubs/chairs and two nail station tables/chairs were located. One of my co-workers got started on her pedicure by Jennifer. Meanwhile, Me and my other co-worker sat in the room with her for approx 40 minutes before our services started. My spa day started with a manicure from Mindy. Although, friendly and professional, my nails ended up in different lengths and a couple of them were only painted in the middle section of the nail while the sides of some were left unpainted. Thankfully, I had gone with a neutral nail color so it wasn't as obvious as it would have been with a darker/brighter color. The next part of the spa service was a pedicure with Jennifer. This was one of my favorite services of the day! Jennifer was friendly and really took her time pampering my feet and legs. The service easily lasted 45+ minutes. The only down side to this was that right after she finished my pedicure, I was called back to have my massage started. Unfortunately, this resulted in messed up polish on my toes. The last part of my day was a relaxing full body Swedish massage with Megan. It was truly amazing. Megan took her time and really listened to me with any issues, discomfort, tight muscles, etc. that I may have experienced before or during the service. I workout 5 times a week so it was nice that when she located a tight/sore spot and was able to massage it out. I HIGHLY recommend Megan for future massage services! I was suppose to also get a facial as part of the deluxe spa package, but due to time restrictions and a late start with services, I had to re-schedule. I am looking forward to coming back for this service as my other two co-workers raved about the facial they both received. All in all, it was a great experience. I am usually not one to give a bad review, but this business really made me feel uncomfortable from the rude check in lady to the dangerous prenatal massage. I was 15 minutes late to my appointment (as a disclaimer). I usually am not late, however I suffer from a disorder called hyperemesis in my pregnancy which is just really bad morning sickness throughout the pregnancy so I was dealing with that pre appointment as I was on the way out the door. No excuse regardless, I feel bad for being late. Once I got there, I checked in and the front desk lady could not have been more rude. As I was filling out my form she was making fun of me for being late referencing "she should be ready she was 16 minutes late hahahah" & she was whispering about how inconvenient it was to her and how my husband called to make sure it was okay that I was running a little behind and how annoying that was. Off the bat, extremely unprofessional. Now, in all fairness it could've been about another client (even though I was the only client in the building) but still it's incredibly rude to have such a conversation in front of any client period. Despite the check in, I still really wanted to get a massage as I am 30 weeks pregnant and super sore. Once I walked back to the massage room, I had an extremely lack luster massage. I basically had lotion rubbed on me for 30 minutes, and I left the massage in more pain than I showed up. Additionally, every time the masseuse rubbed a certain part of my neck, I had painful contractions that I assumed was a normal thing (braxton hicks contractions are wild and I'm a first time mama) until I looked it up through my hospital and found out it was a tell tale sign of an unprofessional prenatal massage and it could've been dangerous for me because it could've brought on labor early. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed in Caravail's spa and feel so bad that my husband wasted his money on this for me as a pre-baby gift. read more

Neither of us have ever done anything like it before but definitely plan to go back! My husband and I got the couples massage and the massage itself was amazing. We felt comfortable, muscles taken care of, and relaxed. It was a nice treat. The having payment transaction completed before the appointment is strange but there was no other problems with it. I will say though our experience with the front receptionist is what makes this review A-ok and we hope that others do not have to deal with the mediocre service and crass attitude. From the moment we made the appointment over the phone, I almost felt as though making the appointment was an irritation to her day. Then checking in involved some attitude handing us two clipboards even after our apologies for running close to our appointment time (rather than the 10-15mins prior checking in). She just sat there pointing around places like we knew where to go and it was almost a hassle to show us where the "other waiting area" was. After our massage, we wanted to leave cash tips for our masseuses and not sure about how CaraVail does it but she just took the cash and placed it under her keyboard... Like...huh? Previous spa massages, we were given envelopes at our discretion to place cash tip for the masseuses. When we asked about an envelope or envelopes, she said that they don't do that while staring at the computer the whole time. We didn't realize it was such an inconvenience to her to ask when there was no one else in the first waiting area and the lack of common decency of not even looking at us. The receptionist is the first person you see and deal with walking in especially in a service oriented industry like this and she was such a turn off...even if we are out of towners, we're for sure letting our friends know to avoid this rudeness. read more

Spa package $380. Was told over the phone that lunch was included, 1030am-430pm no food. Bathroom vent is covered with black grime. Significant dust buildup, towel wrap given is old so Velcro doesn't grip, slippers given to use covered with fabric pilling so looked old. I been to many spas around the world, so I am familiar with facials. I went to this spa to get a peel facial. I was told to lay in the bed with my clothes & jewelry on and no blanket, it was uncomfortable. The room had the lights on, so the entire spa feel was gone. The tech cleans my face lightly and fast, no deep cleaning, no steamer. I clean my face better every night at home. Right away, tech applies the peel cream. After the peel the tech says she can apply a lotion that can help with the burn, so she goes to the other room to get the lotion, instead of being already prepared with everything that is needed for a peel facial. Thats all, the facial was done in like 30minutes. It was not worth the money. It dint feel like a spa facial, for that next time I just go to one of those chain spa places like Massage Envy and pay less. However, the tech was super nice and sweet. read more

When it came time for the massage Becky made sure I didn't have any concerns, and that I was good with the amount of pressure she was using. So it seems like the reviews for the nail salon portion aren't so good, but I received a Brazilian, eyebrow wax and a spray tan. Amanda did an amazing job. It was my first Brazilian and she was amazing. She made it as painless as possible plus she was just so great to talk with the entire time that I was distracted thru the whole process so it made it that much better. I also got my first spray tan from her as well and it's beautiful. So natural my husband couldn't believe or was a spray tan. She was so nice and takes customer service to the utmost sincerity. So my spouse and I spent over $400 dollars in this place on the 8th of May for a birthday gift for me and it was not worth it. The massage felt like it was done by inexperienced hands, there was no real pressure and it felt like she was just rubbing lotion on me. The facial was the WORST it was not tailored to my skin needs and then the next day I broke out really bad bumps on my chin and skin was so dehydrated and my spouse's face was even worse it's still peeling 7 days later. I booked pedicure appointments here for a "girls morning" the Monday after Mother's Day. My friends husband is deployed, I had driven from North Carolina and wanted it to be a nice treat. We arrived prior to our appointment time and the receptionist looked at us sourly and said "I just tried to call you, one of the pedicure chairs is broken" Neither of us had missed a phone call so this was a surprise. The receptionist then began to offer us substitute services, each at a higher price than the pedicures. The purpose of our girls morning was to spend time together relaxing and we both really wanted pedicures. We asked if it was possible to do them back to back and were told no because that would cut into someone else appointment time. We asked if they could do mini services back to back and were again told no. We were told they would do one pedicure and then one (more expensive) service. Take it or leave it. We left. We were paying a babysitter and looking forward for a nice time away. CaraVails did not provide that. read more

Not only was corrective service refused if I brought my 8 month old with me, but no reimbursement for corrective color. Discrimination across the board. In the interest of full disclosure, let me be clear: I never actually made it TO this spa. My husband and I received a gift certificate to Caravail's as a wedding present from his coworkers, who knew we'd enjoy a couple's massage. This was in September. At the time, Caravail's had a location in Auburn, Alabama, which is a short drive from where we live. We were THRILLED and immediately called to set up our appointment. No answer, so we left a message. Days later, no response, so we called again. And again. And AGAIN. No one ever answered. We left eight (yes, EIGHT) messages over a two month period, and never received a call back. Finally, we called the location in Columbus, Georgia, only to be told that the Auburn location had just closed. Okay, understandable, right? That explains not getting a return call... Except that they hadn't been closed the first five or six times we called! Instead of returning our call and setting us up with an appointment before they closed, they simply ignored us. (No wonder this location went out of business, huh?!) When my husband called the Columbus location, he actually spoke to the owner. He explained the situation, and asked if we could perhaps receive a refund as Columbus is too far a drive for us. (It would be nearly 2 hours there and back. Nearly four hours of driving for a one hour massage. Um, pass.) We were told - in no uncertain terms and without apology - that it was not "within their policy" to issue refunds. Seriously? Wtf - this was the owner! Hello, LADY! Your policy is whatever you say it is - you're the owner! Geez. Soooo, we have a $100 gift certificate chillin' in a drawer somewhere, never to be used.
