AY Carambas! I didn't know Mexican desserts can be so good. This little shop sells juices, smoothies, bionico, fruit desserts, Mexican drinks, tamales, etc. I was working in the area for a while and this became by late afternoon stop by for a snack. Bionico - $4.25 (small) - It is a mixture of different fruits, granola, raisin and a "sweet cream". I enjoyed it, but that sweet cream is definitely not low calorie. There is also a similar option with cottage cheese. Juices - $3.25 (small) - Delicious and cheap! They have set combinations for you to pick, but don't be shy to make your own mix. I had a strawberry, orange, banana, kale and spinach juice. What a great combo! Smoothies - $3.25 - SO CHEAP AND SO GOOD! Chamango - $4.00 - Where have you been all my life?! Shaved ice, mango, lime, chile and chamoy. Heaven in my mouth. Gazpacho - $4.25 - Pineapple, jicama, orange juice, lime, chile with cilantro and cheese on top. I substituted the jicama for mango ( additional $). WOW, this was my favorite! I want more! I also had a hot drink and a tamale. The drink was thick, chocolate-y and cinnamon-y. My wife wanted a raspado so we came here since its local and we were actually right next to it getting water. So after getting water we walked right in to this place and looked over the menu. My wife got the mango and strawberry raspado that she really enjoyed and was really good. I got a lime and tamarindo raspado that was also very good and refreshing. The lime was tart yet sweet because of the tamarindo. The staff was two people at the time and they were very nice and accommodating. Very helpful when we walked in and would definitely be going back. Other then raspados they also do shakes, juices and fruit cocktail bowls. The service is fast, you see the lady chopping the fresh fruit in front of you. The sweet cream for the bionicos, is made by the grandmother of the owner, authentically wonderful and delicious!! I am from Pico, but now I live in Tx. And every morning right before I leave to the LAX airport, I call the sweet lady that works there (she knows me by name!!) and she prepares my heavenly bionico. I've been coming to this place since a dozen tamales cost $15. Now they're $27, and they're worth every penny. This is not about their food because everything I've tried has been delicious. This is about their customer service. Over the years I let it go when I was 15 minutes late to pick up my order and they sold my tamales, to when I would get 9 pork tamales and 3 cheese tamales mixed in my dozen. For this Christmas, I ordered 2 dozen pork and a half dozen cheese. Instead, I received 1 dozen pork and a dozen and a half of cheese. I didn't realize their error until last Monday when I opened the second dozen and I called them right away. I understand mistakes happen, so I was just going to ask for a small discount on a dozen pork tamales and I would have been happy. Instead the person I spoke to insinuated that I was lying and said I took too long to call them. She eventually said she'd speak to the owner and call me back. I have yet to receive a call. So to sum it up, their food is great, just double check your order before you leave. Keeping my business was not worth a small discount on a dozen tamales or a simple call back, so I'm moving on, but good luck to you. read more

I really like this place, I've read most of the reviews here and I've never had any of these problems, they are always friendly. They have very delicious fruit and they are very generous with the proportions :) I can see that the waiting time could be an issue but when a place has this many customers, for me is just an indication of the quality of their food, so just think ahead and call in (that's my solution!). It was OK. The chamango was more ice than anything. Its was like a raspado with mango syrup and chamoy. Thats not a chamango. I also ordered a funnel cake. My topping of choice was strawberries and cream but they used the bionico cream, not whipped cream so I was disappointed. it didn't taste like a regular funnel cake, plus the funnel cake itself lacked flavor. I like that they offer a great variety and that you can customize what you want. I really wish that they would have a public restroom, but it's all good.
