California burrito is alright but the inconsistencies around the sauces left a bad taste in my mouth. One day we are able to receive all the sauces needed and then another we are charged for half filled canisters. Sigh.

Perfect spot to eat at on a sunny day
Katie S.

Great burrito & lovely service, will definitely return! The super burrito with sautéed chicken was delicious - I was super pleased with the portion too! Had half for lunch and the other half for dinner. All in all, it's a solid spot to get some Mexican food on Haight!

Regular burrito
Aylish T.

Pretty good place for a simple burrito. I had a classic burrito with sauteed chicken, rice, refried beans, and Pico de Gallo. Good, filling portions but a little pricey in my opinion. I paid almost $15 for a single burrito with no chips or drinks or anything else. The fillings were also not very evenly distributed - I did go during a busy lunch so perhaps it was just bad timing, but it would have been nice to get a little of each in every bite. Cute establishment, very classic casual spot. I like the simple decor & there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the register and seat yourself.

Breakfast burrito - chorizo
Mimi A.

I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito with potatoes, and it was the smallest breakfast burrito I've ever seen--definitely not worth the $10. The place was completely empty and could really use a renovation. Also, heads up: when you ask for potatoes, they give you french fries.. will give it another try for lunch. Maybe the portions are better.

The Tostada Bowl
Patrick W.

I went to Caramba on a First Thursday and was surprised that no one was there. I ordered the tostada bowl. The service was very quick and i got my food soon after I ordered it. The tostada bowl was excellent with all fresh ingredients. the taste was really good and you got to eat the bowl. It was interesting that it was a little dead with First Thursday right outside their door. I would have thought it would a little more festive.

Regular Burrito

Ordered the regular chicken burrito bowl for lunch today. The chicken felt like minced meat, dry, lacking flavor. Beans were ok. They charged extra for lettuce. The meal was cold to my surprise. Lot of rice which was also bland. I liked the hot sauce, very yummy and has a kick to it. The entire dish was very dry. Wouldn't go here again.

Super Quesadilla with chicken and spicy salsa
Nyla K.

We stopped in during first Thursday and since everywhere else was much busier than here. There was a lot of people waiting for food but there was no line to order. We ordered food and got a seat towards the front of the restaurant. The super quesadilla with chicken and spicy salsa is what I went with. Although it wasn't cut like a normal quesadilla as a half circle and cut into triangles it was still very good to my surprise. The shell was nice and crispy and the seasoning and salsa was great. I'd come back and get another or try tonight burrito. Def recommend!

Torta al Pastor (no avocado)

Delicious torta!! Bread was super soft and al pastor was excellent. I asked for no avocado but it usually comes with. My friend got the quesabirria and loved it.

Chilaquiles verdes for takeout. Missing sour cream. Can't go back because the restaurant is closed for the evening.

This is for their Larkin Street location. I added the business on Yelp, but I don't know why they moved my review here.. -------------------------------------------------- The chilaquiles verdes that I ordered was not great. I ordered through one of the food apps for pickup. Both their online menu and the app state the chilaquiles entree includes sour cream. Mine was missing sour cream and by the time I got home, I couldn't go back because they were closed for the evening. I could've used the sour cream because they were spicy for me. I can take some spice (I love Tapatío, but can't eat too much jalapeño). But I could've really used the sour cream to cool the heat. The beans were at least on the sweeter side so that helped. The description also says it comes with avocado. I ordered extra for $1.50 to take advantage of their discount on the app. I got around 1/4 of an avocado so it makes me wonder how much avocado you really get when you don't order extra. Also, there wasn't much queso fresco. It was sparsely shredded over the chips and beans. The scrambled eggs were fine. It's more on the hard-scrambled side. The chips themselves weren't very crunchy, but I understand that it happens since it is fried with salsa. And it could also be due to the thinness of the chips. However, my favorite chilaquiles place has chips that are always crunchy because their chips are thick. I can't comment too much on the service but I will say that the gentleman that gave me my order was nice and answered some questions I had about what's available on the app versus what's actually on their menu. Because I got this to go, I can't comment on the ambiance. The inside looks nice, though. It's a small space but there's enough tables and chairs to accommodate several parties of 4. This was my first time here and I would like to come back to try their burritos. But I love chilaquiles and I'm sad to not be able to recommend the ones here.

Fries with choice of meat.
Cliff S.

At work over the holiday shutdown time, had to find a spot close to work and Mexican food was the consensus. Ordered the carne asada fries... but I think I should have gotten a burrito or something like that. So here's how it goes. 1) The fries they use are kind of like your typical frozen fries and the chicken was cooked well, not dry at all. 2) the guacamole wasn't actual home made guac, it was more of the frozen kind 3) It was a healthy sized portion though, so if you're drunk and want something easy to eat, this is your deal

Chorizo breakfast burrito! Only $3.99 for breakfast burritos, plus $1 for extras. I got one extra (potato) so it was $4.99 plus tax!
Monica B.

The perfect place to treat yo self to a quick/cheap breakfast burrito! Their breakfast burritos are a decent size and a steal at $3.99 - especially for being downtown. I used to hit this spot up a bunch when I worked in FiDi (Financial District!). They especially come in handy when you're hungover lol and need a greasy pick-me-up before heading to the office! Taste-wise I would say it's not amazing but they're good enough lol. I prefer my breakfast burrito from here with a bunch of salsa. The mild salsa is a pico de gallo which I love! During non-pandemic times, they would have a salsa bar on the side and you can pour yourself some salsa. These days, you have to ask for it on the side. I'm a #SauceBoss so I want like 5 containers of salsa ideally lol but I feel too greedy to ask for that so I only asked for one the other day and it was definitely not enough! Anyway, I really do think the burrito is bomb when you add salsa or hot sauce- it provides extra flavor and juiciness that really takes the burrito to the next level! I usually get the chorizo burrito, but they have a bunch of different kinds. I always feel good supporting the ladies that work here, so that might be one of the main reasons I like coming here. It feels like a family business. Because of the downtown location, during non-pandemic times, there is often a line in the morning - but it goes by quickly enough. Breakfast items are served 7:30-10:30. And now they have a card reader/Apple Pay on the counter so you can easily pay without handing your card to the cashier!

Pretty mediocre California burrito. Fries were sub-par and had the taste of freezer burn. Won't be going back for that.

Though the waiter encouraged a second beer a few times (so unprofessional for me at 10 am), it was all in good fun. Thai tea French toast is as advertised and delightful. Instead of syrup it comes with a Thai tea flavor glaze. Lovely arrangement of fruit as well. Toast is standard thickness for bread, cooked well. All combined, I was really pleasantly surprised. Though I love French toast, I usually feel queasy and overfull afterwards. Sugar drenched. Not here, my friend. Delicate flavor. Not overly heavy or sweet. Just right for a sophisticated palate. Went well with beer. But just one beer.

Drinks - more options than the food, which is really saying something. We got the pink dalgona coffee and a lychee jasmine tea. Both weren't just good but also came with fresh fruit on top. For food we got the chicken & pandan waffle combo that came with two eggs and sriracha bacon. The waffle was perfection, crispy and light while still very flavorful. The chicken had a nice thin crisp on the outside but was a little dry and flavorless on the inside. The bacon actually tasted better with the waffle than the chicken did. That was really the only flaw for this place (4/5 stars). We also got the steak benedict that comes with a curry hollandaise. This was really unique and we'd absolutely get it again. The potatoes on the side were also crispy and they give a lot of fresh fruit too!

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!

The place is a little cramped, but we were able to wait inside until the whole party was there to be seated. It was a good place for a group dinner. I shared the catfish with crawfish etouffee (special), the gumbo, and a dungeness crab beignet with my boyfriend. We also ordered some banana cream pie for the table, which was a huge hit.
