If you need something and need someone who knows what they are doing ask for Matt. There is a good team at this Car-X location, but Matt has been there about 20 some years in change. If I need an honest review of a situation that is who I turn to. I didn't need much this time. Just needed a tire rotation and test. He did as asked all while I hung out in the lobby. They have decent seating and TV. He let me know what was going on with my car and I didn't have any doubt that he did a good job. The gentleman at the front desk who checked me in and out was professional but also had a big smile and very kind to me. They were within price range and didnt try and sell me anything I didnt need. If I can't do it myself, this is where I come. read more

Went in for an oil change in company truck. As long as April Stanley is the manager there I will not return. She conveys that she is not the person I want to deal with. The boy in the red hoodie told me after it was done that everything was good and when I asked him if transmission fluid was full as I have an engine light he said they did not check it? Do you not check all fluids any longer? You used to fill washer fluid and do windows, was that supposed to be done? Battery check same thing. I believe I have been coming there around 20 yrs. How disappointing. Kevin read more

Friendly service and they made sure to make it clear how much it would cost. Feel it took longer than it should have, I have been here many times and it has never taken this long. read more

Wonderful experience! Came in with bad tires and they were so helpful in ordering new tires to fit my car, explaining the situation, and exchanging the tires very efficiently within the same day! They have fair prices and didn't try to talk me into buying anything unnecessary. The manager, Mike, was especially helpful. I am highly recommending this location for any and all car needs! read more

I would give 0 ratings. Went in Saturday for a oil change 2 or guys sitting in the oil bay doing nothing. Finally a chunky guy comes in asks if he could help I asked for a oil change he took my keys drove it in comes in tells me my sticker says I have 20000 miles left I said yes I know I explained to him my oil light came on saying add oil. If he would of looked it would of said 19% .but no he didnt.gives me a attire walks out. His buddy gets up their standing their looking at my car then proceed to say their filler was broken and he couldn't do it. He could maybe order 1 from A.zone. which he should of already .I told them that's a bunch of crap. They proceeding to yell at me. I asked where my keys were they said in my car so I drove it out of they bay myself. Instead of sitting their knowing it was broken he should of ordered it. Never again will I go back. The phone number i got to call is a crock I don't have time to be on hold and then it says no one is available. Nope sorry. This place has gone down since Chris passed away. I have called this number they put me on hold and then they come back saying no one is available. So hard pass read more

I had my car worked on and I asked them to change the oil and check the air pressure on the front 2 tires as well when I talked to Tyson on the phone. I assumed they changed the oil because they put a new sticker on the windshield but they did not rotate the tires or check the air pressure on the front 2 tires because they looked the same when I got my car back. The work order clearly states "complementary tire rotation w oil change" which they did not DO!! He said he would put "belt grease " on the belt in the engine because it's squeaking from the oil leak I have and I do not believe that happened! My wife did the calling and picked up the car. I sure hope they didn't do these things because it was her and not me!!! read more

I had an issue with their covid precautions and after I reviewed them on Yelp, I received a call from the area manager who heard my concerns and immediately made a promise to rectify the situation. I feel like they do care about their customers. To reach out and hear the perspective of their customers is great business practice. . read more

Took a car in for exhaust work that was running fine. When it comes back it conveniently has a misfire that the lying service manager, name Tyler, says was there when he looked at it. they want to recommend thousands of dollars of repairs that had a been done no more than two years prior. bunch of crooks. I knew i should have gone local. But, couldnt find anyone available. i reccomend the Coppola law firm. its who i will use for these crooks. read more

Well your car is at over 5,000 miles since your last oil change and you are escaping out of town this weekend on a 8 hour drive! Might be time to get an oil change! This was my first experience at Car-X and naturally they reminded me right away I need this special kinda oil, that's going to run 70 bucks! I say, yes I guess. (I know nothing about cars, except how to work the cd player) Anyway I got set up in the waiting room, as they told me it shouldn't take to long! Yes they were right I only got to watch about 5 minutes of Family Feud on the Tv, at least it was at the end and I got to see the family win! Did you know when 100 people were polled about an animal with wood in it's name 52 people said Wood Pecker and 45 people said Woodchuck! What did the other 3 people say? Just so you know.. It was funny to see the guy on tv say Pecker and everyone including the host lost it, like they were all 14 year old boys! Anyway back to my car! The service was fast, and friendly, and they had free coffee in the waiting room, also the waiting room bathroom was clean as well! Nice guys, and good quick service, I'm on the road again! read more

We have gone here several times over the last few years. The customer service is pretty decent, sometimes it's hit or miss with mechanics, oil changes and prices though. However the do have financing options as well. read more

I bought a book of oil changes a few months ago. Went in at 8 AM this morning for the "no wait express oil change". A harried employee came out and explained to people that it would be at least a hour because she was the only one there. I elected to leave as did another car. Guess someone is getting a gift as I'm not bothering to use the remaining coupon. read more

Time and time again this location has given me great service at reasonable prices! They are really great for oil changes, always seem to have coupons and no appointment needed. I've used them for 20 years plus now and they just continue to provide consistent excellent service! Last summer I had two problems with tires, and they fixed them immediately. A rock solid, well run business.! read more

pull in with a leaking wheel the light just came on just down the street from carX so I pulled in to get it repaired, they wanted 970.00 dollars, really, I am disabled and in a wheelchair and elderly I think they thought I was stupid or something on there quote they had the Whell cylinder priced at over 200 dollars for a 22.00 . should have look closer because three was not a single car in the bays in the middle of the Day, there are 4 other repair shops close to them did not have an open bay. that should have told me to go somewhere else. BEWARE OF THEM read more

I bought a battery at an auto parts store but they were unable to replace it since they couldn't get the bolt off. We called car-x and even though they closed in an hour, they were able to get me in. They got my battery replaced quickly and saved my weekend! These guys are awesome! Thanks again. read more

Took my vehicle in to get an oil change since I couldnt do on my own with all the rain. They told me all my levels were fine. But me being me, I checked them at home and the transmission fluid was a little low. So take it for what it's worth, they don't know what you're doing and I would advise you to go elsewhere read more

If you want fast, amazing, and affordable oil changes go here. I assume their other services are great, but all I needed was an oil change. Friendly guys too. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I'll be bringing both my vehicles here for all my oil changes from now on. read more

The best shop in town....NOT!!! I had them balanced my truck 4 wheels a week before. I came back because it was shaking so bad.... they didn't even bother to take off my tire to check but instead took my truck for a spin and said it was fine... they argued with me when I told them otherwise, ... I then took it to Sam's Club..,.my truck now runs perfect!! Forget about going back to them .. they still owe me lifetime alignment. I gave them a star because they gave me a life time lesson to not come back again! I felt like I got robbed for a service and assurance that never was delivered! #shadymechanic read more

In and out within 15 mins. Super fast service. Based on the experience, I'd definitely recommend them for oil changes.

dont take your vehicle to this establishment if you value quality work and honest prices. was quoted $2,000 dollars worth of work for made up issues that did not exist with the vehicle when i brought it in for small oil leak. had the issue fixed for less than $200! scam artist avoid at all costs !! lost my business for life. read more

I went to Car-X to get my tires aligned after I ran into a curb. After waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time for my car to even be taken into the garage, they came out to inform me that they wouldn't be able to perform an alignment because I had "destroyed" my wheel bearing. After they quoted me over $600 for the fix, we decided to take it to someone else for a second opinion. Thank goodness we did! Our mechanic took out the wheel bearing, cleaned and inspected it and found nothing wrong with it. The problem was actually in the shock. Being a 23 year old female, my mind automatically goes to them trying to take advantage of my naivety and I just can not believe that they would have charged me $600+ and my car still would have been broken. Would not recommend this place to anyone-- unless you like to be tricked and treated like you're an idiot. read more

I needed to get and oil change and some simple things fixed. The staff was warm and welcoming! I've been coming here for awhile and they are always a joy to be around! Everything got fixed and I always leave pleased with their work! read more

I only go to this Car-X for auto issues and maintenance. I have had numerous automobiles have far too numerous issues over the past 10 years or so and the group at Car-X are always wonderful, friendly, and get the job done in an appropriate amount of time. Now they have the oil change station and they are FAST. read more

Service was great, quick, waiting area nice with free snacks and coffee, and able to accommodate walkin service.

I went in for an oil change last summer. Before I went in my car was fine and had no problems. Then a few days after I got the oil change my car started leaking. I took it back in to them and they told me that the oil pan is rusted. I have a mechanic who had worked on the car just before that and he didn't notice the pan being rusted. I don't know what this place did, but I will never go back. read more

I have been going here for quire sometime now without issue until my last oil change they told me I needed new brakes. Since I put new brakes on my car in the last year I became concerned that perhaps I got taken by the guy that I had do the brake work. I decided to go to the Nissan dealer to have them checked and guess what....there is nothing wrong with my brakes! Nice try Car-X, you just lost a customer . read more

I came in with a coupon for oil change, windshield wipers and tire rotation. I was told my tires didn't need to be rotated based on the tread showing so they didn't rotate them. Not a big deal I thought. When i reviewed my bill, I see i was overcharged by $30 dollars. They didn't accept the coupon because they didn't rotate the tires and charged me full price for the oil change and new wipers. Essentially they didn't rotate the tires so they could charge me full price for everything. Very sketchy. Will never go back. read more

Never had a bad experience here! They take care of me AND my car. They are so quick and efficient. They are friendly and appreciative. They even shuttled me home so I didn't have to sit there while my care was being worked in!!! I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else. :) read more

I've used CarX in Clive twice now and both times have been great. The first time I went in and had my alignment done. I had been taking my 2010 Honda Accord to the dealership for service but decided to go with CarX because their prices were much cheaper. Their technicians were great and got my alignment fixed for half the price the dealership was going to charge! The second time I took my car in was for regularly scheduled oil change and tire rotation. They were great, I was able to schedule an appointment online in advance this time and was in and out in no time. Also, I must mention they honored the coupon I brought in for the services (oil change, tire rotation, and new wiper blades) even though the wiper blades my car uses were a bit more expensive than the wiper blades covered under the coupon deal. It was great of them to do that! read more

Thank you to Tyson & his team for helping out my son with fixing a valve cover gasket. Disaster averted! Less than 2 hrs into a lengthy triangular road trip, my poor Ralph (the trusty steed) began having what I can only describe as electrical seizures... a quick phone call to AAA directed me to an en route stop about 45 min away. I called ahead, and arrived during a flurry of rapidly locking doors. I was greeted warmly and they listened to the issue, and my priorities (must have cruise control - long trip!). I was quick to mention a visit to Best Buy (review of Best Buy pending), to have my remote starter fixed a month ago. The great team at Car-x simply pulled the remote starter fuses and got me back on the road in lightening speed! I sincerely appreciated their respect for my needs (getting me back on the road, and checking that my cruise control still worked). Had I needed automatic locking doors or a remote starter in wintery weather, I have no doubt they could have handled the issue in full. Their focus was perfect, the lobby was clean with rather comfy reclining leather chairs, and I am so grateful that I stopped. I'm not sure they want it advertised, but they didn't even charge me for the 30 min they spent with my car - despite knowing full well I couldn't have become a regular customer. Thanks again for getting me back on the road safely! Can't tell you enough how much I appreciate it! read more

Great service and Courteous staff. John, manager was a pleasure to work with. They were able to more accurately diagnose the reason my car was overheating. They ultimately saved me over $1500 off of a previous estimate I had received from another mechanic. Great turnaround time. Overall, I was completely satisfied and will bring my vehicles there in the future. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

My 2016 Hyundai Elantra had a check engine light that came on right as i was leaving town for a birthday party. I went to Tuffy Autocare and Stew Hansen. Both were not willing to even assist me. I will be taking my car here for all future maintenance. read more

Took my car in to get the tires rotated and get a leaking tire fixed. Made my appointment over the weekend for Monday. Got there they seemed super busy so I had to wait, which is no huge deal. About 30 min later they get my car in the garage. About 5 min later they come in to tell me that my tires are in too bad of shape to rotate. The only thing I got was an estimate for four new tires and an alignment for 1000.00. They also charged me 28.00 to "fix" my tire. Four days later it's low on air. read more
