I would put 5 stars - lets see that the automatic starter works forever! John was very personable. Both when I called to set up an appointment and in person when we met. How it works: - get there early before 9AM opening. Park in the designated parking spots. Before door opens go to it to form a line. As they are busy now by 9:30 am or so their sign up list is full for the day. They review with the customer what is wanted, what they have and what the full cost will be. They had our items in stock and were able to do the work the same day as we left the car there. They close at 5:30 pm and we were told our order would be done a bit earlier, as it was done about 4:30 pm. It was tested in the location and (bite my tongue) is working fine. The inside was decorated with an interesting collection of old Wooden Soldiers for the holiday. Would I recommend them? Yes. read more

They are HONEST and friendly. Bought a used car a few weeks ago. The dealer specifically said it did not have remote start but they could add it for $6-700. Usually people on yelp wont bother and will tell you to call them or to show up at the store. Not these guys. They explained everything in detail. Car starts from any distance because it is connected to 3g. I open my app from my phone and could start the car, stop the remote start, unlock and lock my doors. They called me promptly that they were finished and went over to pick up my car. They sent someone to teach me how to use the remote start and he explained everything thoroughly. I've only had a few experiences with Car Tunes, but each one has been overwhelmingly positive. My latest: a 10-year old car radio/cd player started to give out (I'd actually gotten it at Car Tunes in 2006). They came out to the car immediately, gave it a legit shot at fixing it, and when that didn't work, then and only then did they suggest a new unit. The new unit was very reasonably priced, and when I came back to get it, it was installed perfectly and worked perfectly. Not only that, they had all my prior purchases on file over a 13 year period and so knew all about my 20-year old car and what it could and couldn't use. You always leave Car Tunes feeling you get the best possible customer service and that they are not trying to sell you more than you need. At one point I had called to see if they had a specific expensive product, and John told me that he does have it, but would recommend that I get another product that was actually cheaper and higher quality. He took less money for his business to make sure I got a better product. About a week ago, a dealership took my car to replace my dashboard, and gave it back to me without a functioning radio/sound system. I needed to have an antenna installed in my car and I arrived at Car Tunes without an appointment an hour before closing. I happened to be in the area. I had an appointment two days later that would have been very inconvenient for me since I live about 45 min away and I would have had to adjust my work schedule. They explained to me that they were very shorthanded and that their schedule was full anyway (plus it was almost closing time). Regardless of the fact that it inconvenienced THEM quite a bit, they installed the antenna and had me on my way before I knew it. So my daughter turns 17 and we buy her a 2005 Lexus in great condition, previously owned by the proverbial little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays. The only problem is that the wife decides that the car's too big for the kid and the radio is ancient. After the sale, they have always provided excellent service. I recently had an exceptional experience, so I just had to post a review. Over 5 years ago, they made a custom sub-woofer for my Sienna. It was awesome but it recently stopped working so first thing Saturday morning I went to their shop. They looked at it right away. They found the problem was a corroded wire. I live approximately 5 min from this establishment and based on the reviews I was looking forward to working with them on several potential enhancements for my car. I walked in and met who I later on realized was John Malakassis at the front desk. I mentioned to him that i have a 2001 BMW 740I that i would like to have a remote start installed. He Immediately told me the cost which though seemed a bit high was not a problem for me so I simply said ok. He then told me i would need a 3rd key which would need to be installed locally in the car in order for the remote start to work. I then said to him, no problem I have a 3rd key. He then said ok well give me your name and number and I will get back to you to see if its "worth" doing the install. Me being the mild mannered person I am, I still did not take offense thinking he would at least be professional enough to call me back to say whether he would perform the install or not and why. In a world where car audio installation stores may have a reputation similar to used car dealers, you can undoubtedly count on the honesty, quality installation, and pricing of Car Tunes. We had some trouble with some stock speakers in our Mustang. We thought that a pair of them were blown out and needed replacement. John took a look at the problem and after playing around with the settings, isolated the problem. Turned out that the issue was vibrations from the speakers causing the door panels to make an awful blown speaker sound. So he let us know that he could put some insulation inside the door and solve the problem. He could have easily have told us that we did need new speakers, installed the pair that made him the most profit and blown us off. But he didn't because he wants to do right by his customers. So I say if you need aftermarket car audio advice or installation, go see John and his crew you will not be screwed or overpay. Nor will you end up with a "lemon" ;-). read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST STEREO INSTALLER. Twists together the speaker connections and wraps them with electrical tape. Runs a screw throught the harness and then denies any wrong doing, like his installers are perfect or something. Just stay away from these butchers if you value your car. read more

I have been coming here for over 10 years. They have installed alarms on five of my cars. You drop off the car when they open, and pick it up when they close, and it's done. You get the same alarms here that Best Buy sells, but without the corporate markup, and there isn't an 18 year old kid with no experience installing it. I had a problem with a remote in one of my cars and they replaced it for free. John and Joe are the owners and they have always been helpful.
