They are HONEST and friendly. Bought a used car a few weeks ago. The dealer specifically said it did not have remote start but they could add it for $6-700. I dropped it off at Car-Tunes to install an aftermarket remote starter for less than half that cost. Car-Tunes called back to let me know there was a factory starter in the car and even showed me how to use the existing key/remote to activate it. Without charging a dime! Thank you read more

I would put 5 stars - lets see that the automatic starter works forever! John was very personable. Both when I called to set up an appointment and in person when we met. How it works: - get there early before 9AM opening. Park in the designated parking spots. Before door opens go to it to form a line. As they are busy now by 9:30 am or so their sign up list is full for the day. They review with the customer what is wanted, what they have and what the full cost will be. They had our items in stock and were able to do the work the same day as we left the car there. They close at 5:30 pm and we were told our order would be done a bit earlier, as it was done about 4:30 pm. It was tested in the location and (bite my tongue) is working fine. The inside was decorated with an interesting collection of old Wooden Soldiers for the holiday. Would I recommend them? Yes. read more

Amazing, Awsomesauce, Apple AirPlay Finally!!! I own a tricky vehicle it's a 2014 Subaru with a all the sauces (3.6 engine, with all the trimmings) and everyone said, can't be done. Not John or Chris or the chaps at CarTunes! It was a while in the making, but with a couple parts to fix the bezel and some ingenious work, this thing functions like a champion! You guys rock, so I can roll! Get it? Now go get your next system from them! Get anything you need and they sell from them! Thanks to all who assisted, aided and abetted the work around of the Subaru system! read more

I stopped in to ask about having the battery of my remote key fob replaced and the young man that assisted me couldn't have been nicer! Not only did he address me when I arrived, instead of ignoring me, as it seems in most retail stores today, but he was actually polite and happy to assist me! Customer service in general has gone down the tubes in the last decade or so, but not at Car Tunes!! I'll gladly return for any car audio/equipment needs in the future! read more

Always service with a smile. John's very knowledgeable and is just a really nice guy. It's a nice feeling to walk into a car place and not feel intimidated being a girl lol, just very comfortable and helpful place! Thanks see you soon! read more

If you need something done on your car like putting a stereo in or Sirius Radio this is the place to go Wifey went here first to have a remote start put in they did an excellent job of installation but a couple of weeks later she had a problem with it We called about the problem they told us to bring it in took care of the problem and we've had no trouble with it since and that's been 2 years now. So they definitely back up their work I took my ride in there last week to have a backup camera installed. They put the camera in and it looked as if it came right out of the factory they didn't excellent job and it worked like a charm The guys at the front counter are very helpful and friendly and the person who installed my camera was also great show me how it works and all the ins and outs about it. And their prices are very reasonable and they give you a guarantee with all the work. So I would definitely recommend them if you need any kind of customization on your car read more

I had a problem with my Toyota Highlander remote key. They put in a remote key and remote start system all for the cost that the Toyota Dealership quoted just to look at the car without fixing it. Great job guys. Great to deal with. Great price. Professional service. Quality work. read more

I have purchased two audio units and two auto remotes from Car-Tunes and I'm 1000% satisfied. The staffs understanding of their product and your vehicle is uncanny. However, what separates Car-Tunes from the pack is their customer service. I recently brought back a remote that was purchased in 2017 and mis-functioning. They didn't ask for a receipt or try to nickel and dime me for the service. Instead, they fixed the problem and charged me NADA!!! I will always buy my audio and car electronics at Car-Tunes! So should you! read more

Completely blown away by the service - I misjudged Car tunes. My radio did beak, yes, but what I received was over the top service and a brand new system. John went ABOVE and BEYOND to make it right!! There are so many places you could to go for a radio, backup camera, remote start, etc. but I will FOREVER return to Car tunes after this. They have a customer for life and you won't be disappointed by choosing them! Thank you for everything, John!!!! read more

This place was fantastic and the owner John was so helpful. I came here for a new stero system for my car that included apple car play and a backup camera. Chris did the installation in my car and did a fantastic job. My boyfriend surprised me the autostart installation as well. They did a great job with everything. I would highly recommend this place. Great prices and service!! read more

I'm late in writing my review. Last fall the back up camera in my wife's car started to fail. It was installed by car tunes over 7 years ago. I called and they said drop off the car. It was fixed by the next day. We went to pick it up and they didn't charge me at all for the repair. After seven years I'd don't expect that. Great business great people. I've used them before in classic car stereos and other work. Always happy. Thanks guys. read more

The staff is unbelievably nice! Had something wrong with my Alpine radio and I thought the I had some loose wiring in my radio but it turned out it was just some problems with the connection with my interface itself. The mechanic explained the problem and got it fixed in no time! Amazing work read more

Awesome place!!! Great people. John and Phil, great guys. I brought my Ram truck there for a Bakflip folding cover. The install was done quickly and perfectly. Thank you mechanic Rob. The product came damaged from Bakflip, they let me leave with the damaged cover until the new one came in. Great customer service. Next up, I brought my '07 Edge in for a remote start and a backup camera. While it was done with expert precision and works flawlessly, the impressive part was Tommy taking the time to thorough go through the installation and explain how everything works. Thanks mechanic Tommy. I will be back in the near future to have a sound system and backup camera installed in my '06 Mustang. John, you are a man of your word and a stand-up guy. Thank you sir. read more

Monday morning i decided i needed headunits and backup cameras installed on 2 commercial trucks. I went elsewhere first and they couldn't even get me a price. I called John at car tunes and he got me a price over the phone and said he could start right away since everything was in stock. I brought him 1 truck the same day, he finished one and did the next truck the next day. Everything was done professionally and works great. He even set me up with backup lights and dashcams. Great communication from the install guys. Will definitely be my go to guys in the future. Thanks John read more

The staff there was so so incredibly kind and helpful in finding the perfect stereo for my Honda. I'll definitely be recommending this place to anyone who needs a stereo or speakers! read more

I cant thank Joe and John enough. I messaged them through yelp and asked them a million questions about a remote starter and they answered all my questions. Usually people on yelp wont bother and will tell you to call them or to show up at the store. Not these guys. They explained everything in detail. Cant thank them enough for their thoroughness and friendliness. I had my carlink remote start system installed on my nissan Murano 2010. Its worked great! Car starts from any distance because it is connected to 3g. I open my app from my phone and could start the car, stop the remote start, unlock and lock my doors. It was more than i wanted to spend but it was worth it. They took about 1.5 hours to install, theres a Starbucks close by and just spent time reading there. They called me promptly that they were finished and went over to pick up my car. They sent someone to teach me how to use the remote start and he explained everything thoroughly. Cant thank them enough. Also comes with lifetime warranty, which is amazing. Thank you again for your excellent service. read more

I've been coming here for years and have never had an issue. I highly recommend these guys they do great work. I've recommended them to friends as well and they were impressed with the work also. If you aren't happy with something, let them know because they will make it right. This is my go-to shop for any vehicle enhancements. Keep up the good work guys! read more

They did a great job. The final price matched the quote and they did the full job the same day.

I've only had a few experiences with Car Tunes, but each one has been overwhelmingly positive. My latest: a 10-year old car radio/cd player started to give out (I'd actually gotten it at Car Tunes in 2006). They came out to the car immediately, gave it a legit shot at fixing it, and when that didn't work, then and only then did they suggest a new unit. The new unit was very reasonably priced, and when I came back to get it, it was installed perfectly and worked perfectly. Not only that, they had all my prior purchases on file over a 13 year period and so knew all about my 20-year old car and what it could and couldn't use. You always leave Car Tunes feeling you get the best possible customer service and that they are not trying to sell you more than you need. I once tried another place, only because it was much nearer to my home, and felt completely ripped off. Take the time to go to Car Tunes. read more

After years and years of having car audio work done I have finally found my place. The only regret is not going to car tines sooner. Price was fair, installation was fast, and the equipment is top notch. Highly recommend. Best on the island for sure read more

Did what was asked when they said they would. I would use them again, even with the drive from sayville

I have been coming here for years with my car, and have had nothing but great service! At one point I had called to see if they had a specific expensive product, and John told me that he does have it, but would recommend that I get another product that was actually cheaper and higher quality. He took less money for his business to make sure I got a better product. About a week ago, a dealership took my car to replace my dashboard, and gave it back to me without a functioning radio/sound system. Car Tunes took care of this problem for free, and had it all working within a day. Most recently, after having a very minor billing problem, John reached out to me within a few hours of the transaction to make sure it was corrected and everyone was happy. read more

Chris is knowledgeable and professional. We went there for a key fob replacement and reprogramming. Reasonable price and quick service.

I needed to have an antenna installed in my car and I arrived at Car Tunes without an appointment an hour before closing. I happened to be in the area. I had an appointment two days later that would have been very inconvenient for me since I live about 45 min away and I would have had to adjust my work schedule. They explained to me that they were very shorthanded and that their schedule was full anyway (plus it was almost closing time). Regardless of the fact that it inconvenienced THEM quite a bit, they installed the antenna and had me on my way before I knew it. I find the guys at Car Tunes (especially Phil) to be very kind and accommodating AND they do a wonderful job. I would never go anywhere else! read more

So I bought my wife a new car and we needed someone we can trust to do the right job for the right price. Car tunes was that place. Trust me when I tell you that I checked out every other installer and there reviews on long Island. After my first call with Joe and then second and third with John, I was 100% convinced that this was the place to go. They are very professional, very knowledgeable and most of all these two guys I would like to hang out with on a Sat. night with there families, that's how down to earth they are. I trusted them with a new Mercedes to install a remote starter and tint all the windows. The job was perfect and we even left the car overnight with them as we were going to be away. That is how much you can trust these guys. i am looking forward to going back again so they can do upgrades to my other cars. Thank you guys. Robert Corrado Massapequa NY read more

So my daughter turns 17 and we buy her a 2005 Lexus in great condition, previously owned by the proverbial little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays. The only problem is that the wife decides that the car's too big for the kid and the radio is ancient. So my daughter gets the brand new leased vehicle and I'm stuck driving the Lexus with an AM/FM radio that needed to go. But I digress. I'm here to sing the praises of Car Tunes. Upon my arrival at Car Tunes, I was greeted by the owner, John - think Paul Stookey from Peter, Paul and Mary - super chill, funny and extremely knowledgeable about all things car stereo. John showed me all my options and did not try to upsell me - no high pressure sales tactics were used. In fact, the opposite was true - he said my speakers were fine, only the sub-woofer needed to be replaced - he even suggested that I test drive the radio as is and buy the sub-woofer at a later date if I wanted to!!! I took the plunge and the next day I had an awesome car stereo installed by Chris, the technician - also a good man who took the time to explain the nuances of the stereo to this neophyte in words that I could understand. I could not be happier with my Car Tunes experience. These guys are the real deal. Do not hesitate to check them out. P.S. I happened to be at Car Tunes when reviewer Joanna D showed up in a frenzy. Suffice it to say that she has a vivid imagination. John could not have been nicer or more accommodating to her.. read more

I have been going to Car Tunes for years. I own 5 cars. John and Joe have helped me with all of them from HID lights to stereos to remote starters all at competitive prices. After the sale, they have always provided excellent service. I recently had an exceptional experience, so I just had to post a review. Over 5 years ago, they made a custom sub-woofer for my Sienna. It was awesome but it recently stopped working so first thing Saturday morning I went to their shop. They looked at it right away. They found the problem was a corroded wire. They replaced it and didn't charge me a thing! Who honors their work and does free repairs over 5 years later? Car Tunes does. I thanked John and asked him why does he do this? He said so you won't shop anywhere else. You know what? He's right. read more

If I ever see less than 5 stars for Car Tunes I would be shocked. I have been coming to Car Tunes for Remote Car Starters for every car I have ever owned and my family member's cars. (30years). Also recently I had a Manufacturer radio problem, Car Tunes replaced with a kick ass Kenwood and I love it. I have recomended them to many friends and all have had only positive experiences. Great honest service. I would highly recommend Car Tunes to anyone asking. I called last minute about an aftermarket stereo installation I had already started but couldn't finish. I dealt with Joe. In a world where car audio installation stores may have a reputation similar to used car dealers, you can undoubtedly count on the honesty, quality installation, and pricing of Car Tunes. We had some trouble with some stock speakers in our Mustang. We thought that a pair of them were blown out and needed replacement. John took a look at the problem and after playing around with the settings, isolated the problem. Turned out that the issue was vibrations from the speakers causing the door panels to make an awful blown speaker sound. So he let us know that he could put some insulation inside the door and solve the problem. He could have easily have told us that we did need new speakers, installed the pair that made him the most profit and blown us off. But he didn't because he wants to do right by his customers. So I say if you need aftermarket car audio advice or installation, go see John and his crew you will not be screwed or overpay. Nor will you end up with a "lemon" ;-). read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST STEREO INSTALLER. Twists together the speaker connections and wraps them with electrical tape. Runs a screw throught the harness and then denies any wrong doing, like his installers are perfect or something. Just stay away from these butchers if you value your car. read more

I live approximately 5 min from this establishment and based on the reviews I was looking forward to working with them on several potential enhancements for my car. I walked in and met who I later on realized was John Malakassis at the front desk. I mentioned to him that i have a 2001 BMW 740I that i would like to have a remote start installed. He Immediately told me the cost which though seemed a bit high was not a problem for me so I simply said ok. He then told me i would need a 3rd key which would need to be installed locally in the car in order for the remote start to work. I then said to him, no problem I have a 3rd key. He then said ok well give me your name and number and I will get back to you to see if its "worth" doing the install. Me being the mild mannered person I am, I still did not take offense thinking he would at least be professional enough to call me back to say whether he would perform the install or not and why. Safe to say i never received a call back. Very dissappointed in the professionalism. Would never attempt going or calling back nor would i recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been coming here for over 10 years. They have installed alarms on five of my cars. You drop off the car when they open, and pick it up when they close, and it's done. You get the same alarms here that Best Buy sells, but without the corporate markup, and there isn't an 18 year old kid with no experience installing it. I had a problem with a remote in one of my cars and they replaced it for free. John and Joe are the owners and they have always been helpful. They also do custom stereo work for those of us who used to, or still do those kinds of things. I would recommend them for your car alarm and car stereo needs. read more
