They fast talked me into getting tints I asked for the darkest without it being illegal the owner promised they would be in legal limits. $450 I thought wow that's expensive but was told it had lifetime guarantee. Well less than a year passed the place closed down and my car won't pass inspection due to the ILLEGAL TINT!!! This is the worst place for customer service. The worst place for a remote start install. The worst place to go if you are a woman! I should have known to stay away when the Owner said "ok Hun." at the end of a conversation. They sold me garbage. It's been three weeks I'm trying to get a hold of someone because my car will not remote start. It will not go into reservation mode. They boast about being in business for 20 years! "They are the best, never any unhappy customers." Yet with the seemingly ONE unhappy customer, Kurt, the boss man, will not return a phone call and instead sends a messenger to tell me I'm SOL. He refunded me $123 out of $700 and he feels it is ok to leave a very unhappy customer. What they sell is crap and their customer service is even crappier! Just left this place. After reading an overwhelming amount of negative reviews on both yelp & google I decided to go against my gut and get my tints done here. I figured this was a simple enough job. I called on Tuesday, got a quote for the basic level tints with 20% shade. This was spoken clearly, and answered with a quote of $198+ tax. I asked to schedule an appointment and was told they only do walk-ins starting at 8am. Got over there at 8:10am on Saturday just to be sure. When I got there I told the guy behind the desk I wanted the basic level w/ 20% he brings me over to the sign with all their packages on it and starts going through the whole "this is better than that routine" for starters the price for basic said $149, next level up $249, and so on. When I questioned him about that he said "oh all these prices are for 2 door cars so anything you see would be $100 extra for the 4 door. Complete BS marketing, especially since if that was the case it would've been $249 for basic according to that logic. Anyway, I was then told basic doesn't come in 20% LIKE I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE. Anyway, I trusted my gut finally and left without getting any work done. Classic bait and switch. Should've listened to all the negative reviews out there and not wasted my time. Read the negative reviews before coming here and still decided to give it a chance. I even ignored the reviews about some who read the negative reviews prior and still decided to come and deeply regretted it. So take this as a warning! I love to give every business the benefit of the doubt because people can be a bit dramatic & often hold expectations that are unrealistic. Called ahead of time (3 months ago),the guy told me to just walk in and appointments are not made here, first come first serve". Went the next morning at opening, just to be told that they were to busy. Yet the guy was standing around listening to music with an empty parking lot and no customers in store. 2 weeks later, decided to give it another try. Went in 2 hours after opening and asked if they had time. The guy stated of course and then asked what type of car I had. I walked off to the side to order an Uber back home and after ordering the Uber, he looks at me and states " you know what I actually don't have time today come back tomorrow". There was one customer in the store other than myself! I got a weird feeling that I was being denied service because it wasn't something that was going to bring in a lot of money ( window tinting). So again, I came in the next day at opening! The guy looked annoyed and told me he had no time and that I could call early in the morning and check with him tomorrow. Had my boyfriend call the next morning and ask if they were busy, the guy replied no. Came in 10 minutes later (as I live around the corner). The guy was sitting there listening to music, looking bored with no one in the store or parking lot. Walked in said " good morning I'm back for the tints". He gazed at me and said that he did not have time for me today. I don't think it's that they don't have time or that they are busy! They judge you based on the type of car you have and whether they are making enough money that day. They pick and choose their services because apparently they do not get a lot of business! I am sure that they don't get a lot of business because of their bad service and reviews & so they attempt to make it up with choosing 2 do highest paying jobs only instead of the ones that they clearly advertise. This did not sit well with me so I asked my brother to call in and ask if they could do a detail with new tires and tints for a 2021 Benz. The guy stated that he could come down now and that they would have time to do all of that work. So my brother asked " are you sure you can get it done today, are you busy?" The guy said "nope we aren't busy, you can come" Please be careful here! They seem money driven & hungry and I wouldn't doubt the reviews that state they have been ripped off or overcharged. We brought my wife's XT4 to get the windows tinted to match and a small tint strip on the front. One of the smaller windows was put on crooked but when she brought it back they fixed it on the spot. I also brought my truck and they said over the phone they could tint the windshield strip but when I got there they just couldn't figure it out. I took it down to Savage right down the road and they handled it with no issue. I wasn't overall bothered by the small mistake they made with the tint being crooked and they stood behind it but they lacked respect for my car as this is how I received the doors back. Kind of felt more than a type of way about it. I understand the tint process and I also understand the doors could have been wiped or dried off. The car was just detailed. The police were involved and the officer told them NOT to put the rims on her vehicle. They put them on anyway and forced her to pay or Threatened a Mechanic's Lien. Went to Tint World which we needed tint removal and an inspection. My girlfriend went alone after I schedule the appointment for these services. She arrived first. They said they needed to "precheck" the car to ensure it would pass inspection as we were leaving it there and we both work two jobs. Seems normal enough...now I arrive shortly after and head to the rest room and the mechanic comes in and tells my girlfriend "it's a good thing we did the precheck because you would've failed, you need front rotors and inner pads they are metal to metal" them seeing a girl who might not be knowledgeable told her it would be "$399" to do it and then her car would pass inspection. I then exited the bathroom and my girlfriend let me take over. I explained I did the rotors and pads less then a year ago and there was no way it needed that, I asked them to show me, they then attempted to show me they said "my pins were falling out and it was faulty brake hardware..." they pointed at a brake shim which has no effect on wear and I never game them the wheel lock so could they see that? I had them remove the tint and just took the car that night and paid for the failed "inspection" they never did just a "precheck". Next day took it to a local repair shop in Patchogue right down the road on 112 that looked at the car and I asked them to confirm If I needed front pads or rotors? They informed me the brakes were perfectly fine showed me the pad levels and the rotors were not gouged as if the pads were metal to metal and the vehicle passed inspection with no additional work done. I wouldn't recommend going there as they tried to rip my us off for almost $399 on top of a "so called failed inspection" of $37 bucks. read more

My conclusion is that nobody there knows how to run an automobile service center. Even though I had read bad reviews, a year ago I had them install a remote starter on my son's Mazda and all went well. Now on Sunday Nov 25, 2018 I went back to the Medford Tint World for a remote starter for my new Tacoma; I believe it was the manager (only person working at the front desk when I made the purchase) that sold me the unit and suggested that I come in next day at 7:45 AM if I wanted to wait while Tint World installed the unit. Monday morning I arrived at 7:45 AM and a gentleman had arrived ahead of me for the installation of a remote starter; we were both asked to wait in the customer waiting room. Soon after a mechanic came into the room and told the other gentleman that they could not install the remote because his car had a non-working parking brake handle (which the customer admitted he knew but was not ready to have it repaired). The gentleman left and so I was now the only customer remaining at their customer waiting room. About two hours later I approached the front counter to inquire about an after market option I was considering buying from them (the person that sold me the remote starter and two other sales persons got involved in the computer search for my item); so now it is obvious that 3 people in the front desk are aware that I am still there while my truck is in the shop. I returned to the waiting room. After 3 hours waiting in their waiting room one of the sales persons entered the waiting room to use the restroom; I told him I was there over 3 hours waiting and needed to know how much longer will they be working on my truck. He responded that he would check on it and let me know; he never got back to me. Half hour later I went to the front desk to ask about my truck and noticed that the paper work and installation had been done but the front desk staff were not aware of it. These people just let me sit in the waiting room for hours unnecessarily and never apologized for having forgotten that I was there waiting and waiting. I drove to Tint World 30 minute drive. I had an appoitnent for someone to look at my jeep seat. When I got there he took photos and said someone would call me back. Two weeks later I called and asked about it and no one knew anyting. They said somone would call me back again. It has been a few days so I called back again. The man on the phone acted like this is the firt he has heard about this and they put you on a LONG hold. He came back and said we are not doing this anymore. This place has a 2 star rating for a reason. If you have money growing on trees and have no where else to put the money definitely get your services here. But in THIS economy they will absolutely obliterate your pockets. I decided to get remote start installed in my car since I'm not one to wake up extra early and walk outside and start my car in these colder months we're heading to. I called several mechanics that gave me prices for the install and they were so much more expensive than here, so I thought. When I talked to Kurt over the phone he told me that the 2 way bypass was ONLY going to be $350 + tax. So I knew I was going to pay $400 max on this service. I went in at the ass crack of dawn of 8am and got my car worked on for the service. By 10am, I am walked through on how to use the remote start and they tell me my total is $595. I am not one to make a scene or anything crazy but these people are MAD. If I didn't have to be at work by 10:30am I would have had them remove that because how do you tell me one price them up charge the mess out of me in store. Oh and they make you sign a contract after stating all sales are final and that once installed they can't remove it. Which is dumb because if you really want people to respect your policies you should go over this before the service and get them to sign because without a signature that paper means nothing. Crooks! Was quoted 169$ for a wheel alignment on my truck (truck is brand new!) come to pick it up and I'm being charged 200$ I question why as I'm aware that tax would only be about 13$. They claim there is a franchise fee and a shop supplies fee for when they use rust penetrant etc. there's not a spec of rust on the truck as it's brand new. As somebody who worked in shops for years I know all there is to alignments is a set of wrenches. I took my 2021 ram to them knowing that the reviews were not great but i thought i would give them a try. I had raised my truck 2.5" with a leveler kit and replaced the upper control arms for a 2" lift right from Mopar. I had marked the suspension bolts on everything under the front end and took it to them for a front end alignment. NEVER again, the sheet they gave me stated that it did not need an alignment according to their alignment sheet that shows what it is currently and then after the alignment. It stated the same. Now i know from building race cars and street machines that when you raise your vehicle that your camber, caster and toe goes out. I went down the road the same and felt like a wheel was scrubbing. I got it home and crawled under it and all my marks were UN-touched meaning that they did nothing under it. When you pay for a service you expect to get your moneys worth. Not here, they take your money and don't do anything. I now have to take it in again to have it redone which i should send them the bill for it. BEWARE!!! I should have known better. UPDATE!! The operations manager called me and discussed with me my issue. The guy was very nice and wanted me to be happy. I told him i took my truck to a different alignment shop to get it fixed which now the truck drives way better and tires are quiet. I sent him the sheet showing that the tech did not do the alignment at all. I understand in our economy of today it is very hard to find good help and for Tint World they had an employee that was not doing their job. I have employee issues also. The Operations manager and the owner of the Medford Tint world are great people and did their best to make things right for me. Every company will have their issues BUT it is how the company follows up with them that makes the company stand out. The guys Ivan there said it was from not leveling out the ceramic coating and give them an hr and they would dix. Well an hr went by and it didnt come out. MY ADVICE - DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS I brought my car in for a NY state inspection b/c the location of this shop is conveniently close to my job. It allows me to drop off the car in the a.m. and pick it up at the end of the day. The autoshop that was in this location prior to Tintworld moving in was EXCEPTIONAL. Even provided me with a discount b/c i work for a not-for-profit. So naturally once they moved out I wanted to give these guys are try. Short version: these guys tried to rip me off b/c I'm a young woman and they made the assumption that I must not know anything about cars. Long version: I sent my car in for an inspection and they informed me that I needed full brake and rotor replacements in order to pass inspection ($500+). I had my suspicions when they told me that, so instead of having them do the work/paying for brakes, etc; I brought my car to my father (he's a gear head) so he could replace the brakes/rotors for me so that I only needed to pay for parts. He was prepared to do it (keeps him busy and shows me that he loves me) but when he took a look at the brakes he discovered that everything was up to par i.e. no replacements of ANYTHING was necessary. He took my car to a different shop and it passed inspection no problem. So essentially this crew was trying to take advantage of me -no question and the proof is in my experience of having my car passed by another shop. Although, I must admit, my father took it in for the second inspection for me and folks are probably more hesitant to take advantage of a middle aged man with a NHRA t-shirt. Obviously someone from Tintworld monitors these reviews because there are responses below. Can you provide for me an explanation of why I'm wrongly accusing you guys? Go ahead, tell me why you guys wouldn't pass me unless I paid $500+ dollars but another shop would?? Yes, I'm a woman that may seem like an easy target/easy way to make more $$ because I don't know anything about cars; but no, that is NOT OK! Tintworld lost a lot of business by trying to rip me off. The entire staff that I work with was looking to me for feedback from my experience with you guys because again, of the convenient location; however, we will be using the other autoshops in the area for fear of being taken advantage of. I brought my car in to get an estimate for tint removal on only 2 windows and my rear window, Kurt quoted me $85.00 + tax and when my car was finished they charged me $203.33. After speaking to Kurt on the telephone regarding his quote, he fought with me stating he never said that. I could not beleive this " manager" would completely lie to me and argue with me after I asked several times when first bringing my car in" it's $85.00 + tax total right"? He said yes several times. Tint world was my first estimate and what a huge mistake, I brought my car to another tint place and told them what he charged me and they sincerely said "you got screwed". I do not like writing bad reviews but please either get your quote in writing at Tint World or go to another reputable place. Brought my brand new car into tint world in Medford to have my windows tinted. That was in January...I chose this place because I noticed that they apparently do high end cars. With that being said I got the highest end tint that supposedly doesn't interfere with satellite and Bluetooth signal. It cost me close to $400 for tint... (Never thought that was an issue about interference) Anyhow. Periodically I clean the back window in my car and noticed that the 3rd brake light in the back of the car attached to the rear window was loose. I couldn't understand why it was loose and it never dawned on my what the issue was until I drove with the windows open and the entire light came off the window and ripped the wire out. After I pulled over and inspected the situation I noticed that there was all 3m tape around the light and under the brackets that hold the light on. I than realized that the guy who tinted my windows ripped the light off the window and broke the brackets which come attached to the window before it's Installed. He tried to cover this up with tape and glue. He did a terrible job and wasnt honest with me about destroying my light in my 55k car. When I called them to explain the situation the guy said "come down we fix". I was so annoyed I didn't go down because I didn't want them touching my car again!! I finally got the problem fixed 300 dollars later. My father always thought me you put yourself in your own predicaments, so I sucked it up and blamed myself for choosing them. Went in to find out about some tints and a remote start. Kurt helped me out explained all the differences in the options really well. Went with a remote start with a 2000ft range tinted the front glass on my truck and smoked the back tail lights. Everything looks great couldn't be happier and he even packaged everything together at a great price and gave me a upgrade for the same price as the lower model bc they were out of stock. Bought a 2000 Buick La Sabre from Jay-ware auto sales. I found a lot of Anti Freeze on the driveway and still under warranty, Jay-ware sent me to Tint World to fix Anti Freeze leak. The car went to the shop three times for testing and I was told problem is fixed, however the car was still losing Anti freeze internally. I had a fight with the salesman at Jay-ware due to my frustration with Tint World not being able to expedite finding cause of leak and fixing the problem. Six months later, I took the car to a different repair shop to fix the anti freeze leak. it cost me $700 to fix the issue by replacing the intake. Very disappointed with this purchase and unprofessional repair by Tint World Don't you EVER purchase a car from Jay-ware AND Don't you EVER take your car to this, Tint World, ripoff place. read more

just bought a new dodge ram truck, brought it here to have a spray on liner installed. the liner look good but when I got the truck back it looked like they went off roading with it.. there was something all over the sides back. I showed them the mess they washed one spot off and they just said its dust it will come off when washed. my husband is a fanatic when it comes to his vehicles he washes his vehicles before they go in for any type of work. when I saw this and they didn't even have the decency to offer to clean it. and now even the black moulding have a white haze that don't come off. read more

Biggest clowns out there. I have used these guys for my windows tint, my wife's auto start, and recently, an inspection. Number one - my wife's auto start - their estimated time for any service is give or take several hours. Very unprofessional. They promised to have the car out at a certain time since my wife had a doctor's appointment afterwards and they weren't even close to the promised time. In fact, they had put another car in front of hers. How nice of them. They mislead me with what features the remote start would and WOULDNT have and wasn't told until later on. After i paid Second - i had my wife go there for an auto inspection this morning. "Have it here by 8:30, no later, ill have the car right on the lift, in and out" he tells me. My wife gets there at 8:35, she waits a half an hour and finally gets her car looked at, only for them to try and scam me into getting 300$ worth of work done on brakes and rotors claiming they need to be changed. I looked at the car before i sent her there. THEY WERE FINE. HOW ABOUT YOU STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN WHEN THEY GO TO YOUR SHOP. I've had problems camber since I got a brand new 6 inch lift on my truck. I brought the truck back multiple times in multiple times once they even made me pay. I gave them two chances and each time was let down. Every repair I had done here has resulted in that part wearing down very quickly and having to be replaced within a year. I was quoted a day for the timing belt to be done and it took three, resulting in me having to rent a car to get to and from work for those days. Shortly after my second "repair" there, somehow my emergency brake stopped working and I had to miss a day of work to take it into another shop to be fixed. I will be nice and say They had a bad window tinter and had to keep fixing his sloppy jobs or make it up another way so for that I respect the way they treat customers . I just picked up my Camaro from there new location and I noticed they have a new tinter and he did a AWESOME job ! Horrible customer service. Went to bring my car in to get tints at 930 am asked a guy at the desk what percent tint a car was outside he didn't even look and said " i have no clue". Was very rude. So left my car there called at 3 pm and asked how much longer they said by 5 a clock it will be ready. Went back at 5:30 to pick it up and they didn't have it done. Their reasoning was because something with the tint cutter was broken. If that was true they should've called me and told to me to pick up my car earlier because it was there ALL day.
