Wow , now I know why there are so many horrible reviews! I spoke to a Johnny little over a week ago who was friendly, quoted me 350 to install my new pioneer touchscreen with 2 speakers/amp. I followed up and called yesterday, speaking to a Danny, who told me to come in tomorrow to see the vehicle - so I drove 90+ min from where I live in eastern li to come in -- I identify myself and Danny instantly is rude "Is that suppose to mean anything" I explain we spoke yesterday on phone and ask if he can come outside and look at my car and he says " why i know what your car is" an I'm like to show you my inventory an he is so disgruntled an is quoting me so much higher than Johnny, double (who does accounting and did sales , he would know the right price) an I go back inside with him an ask him basic questions about possibly getting a backup cam and possibly a dash cam. Whenever I tried to get a word in he'd rudely cut me off mid sentence and talk at me, not with me. Like holy hell. I politely ask him can I please finish my sentence an he tells me "this isn't working for me" and I'm like are you serious I just drove nearly 2 hours to do business with you and your not even letting me talk. He goes "so talk" with a smirk on his face. No sympathy, no nothing. He goes on to be more mad that I'm not buying any of his weak inventory telling me it'll be 500 bucks to install a touchscreen, backup cam, and dash cam -- that's RIDICULOUS. He's like "if you get my backup and dash cam, it'll be 600 in cash - that's a deal." Which was not a deal, more like a steal. Products were already marked up. Telling me to pay in cash so it clearly won't be a record of his foul play. Acting like it takes 5+ hours to install 3 basic things. I'm an audio visual technician, I know better. Nor do I deal with rude people question cutting me, talking over me, talking at me, and can't even recall the day before! I only considered this place because "Crutchfield" where I got my parts from said this was the closest installer. If they only knew how toxic this place was and is! I paid top dollar which I don't mind, but I expect top dollar service. I ordered a rear view camera, radio install, radar system, and car alarm. Like an idiot I didn't do my research and the owner directed me to purchase a bunch of older products they had on the shelves. (a week after I went to another shop and they had much newer products for same price.) Everything did work once installed however, it was a pretty sloppy install. I really wanted to support the local small shop and I know there is a quality-labor shortage on Long Island but, I unfortunately will not be returning with my other vehicles. My Toyota Highlander already had the highest end JBL sound system. available. I wanted to switch out the radio because I wanted a system that had 'wireless' Apple Car Play. Danny recommended the Apline iLX-507 with the SiriusXM add-on plus a number of additional accessories that would allow it to interface with my existing steering wheel controls, existing XM antenna.... etc. Installer Juan did a great job. The installation looked like that car came with the new stereo from the factory. I was thrilled that all the steering wheel controls worked as before, and it integrated perfectly with the built-in 480 watt amplifier the car came with. The sound is amazing. They even made sure the existing USB port was connected directly to the stereo. When I came home and looked at the receipt - line by line - and compared it to prices at Crutchfield they were priced similar or in many cases lower than the prices @ Crutchfield. I went for a system that has apple car play. I specifically asked for one with Remote CarPlay. They assured me it had it. When done...it did not, just regular plug in. They upgraded my system also. Was pretty expensive but it sounds great. I was offered free installation for future speakers due to Danny made the mistake and offered free future installation. A day latter I noticed they unlocked my shifter to make getting into my console easier. The removed the plug and now it is lost. I called and again Danny was great but the guy who first fielded the call blamed me for losing it and when I told him I know it was them because why would I take it out, he asked me if I knew who would win a car race over Labor Day weekend, because I seemed really confident. He was taking a jab at me. When I let him know I did not appreciate his comment he literally began to yell at me and tell me I was out of line. All I wanted to do was see if they still had my plug. Went in for an alpine stereo deck warranty because the retailer on amazon that i purchased the stereo from told me that parkway was an alpine retailer and they could help me, but they couldnt.. but thats not the problem. The problem was that the owner was such a disrespectful prick. I opened the door to the place as any customer would and this little white dog came running through my legs. The owner got real nasty with me like it was my fault that his dog (who shouldnt be running around the showroom to begin with) ran out the door, then we proceed to the counter, talking to me in a disrespectful tone, But the best part was when i looked over the counter and saw a dog gate that was wide open. I said why dont keep him behind the closed gate...? He tried telling me that he will jump over this 4ft gate.... This dog was at most 10 pounds... maybe you shouldnt bring your dog here then if he can jump over anything. anyway, i will never ever go back here after the way the owner spoke to me. The owner is an ass hole, his name is Danny. He said we had to pay for the part before he ordered it. So we did. He said it would take a week to receive the parts. It took a month. We had to call him for follow up's on parts and he was the one with the attitude instead of us. My husband called to cancel the order after waiting month, now danny boy called me the next day to say the parts are in. I told my hubby we shouldn't take the car to them. We did anyway. danny boy said it wouldn't be more than 2hrs to install 2 frog lights and replace existing roof lights @98$ hr. He would call when he's done. 4 hours later still no call, so we go back. Assholes have my hubby waiting over 25mins. I go inside this ass is debating prices with s/o else. After another 28 min. He says he needs us to tell him where to place the light switch. Wtf I'm thinking. This assholes dude is on the back working on another truck. So I ask him, "how long now?" He said idk,I don't want to say 10min n take 20ty. This danny boy says I'm just going to charge you for 3hrs not 4. What asshole. Wtf happen to 2hr n a call? And gave me an attitude Then when they did the job I didn't like it , so I asked them to fix it and they made me wait 3 weeks and when the time came the tint guy told me it was gonna be hard to do mean while I see cars all Over the place with the visor tint On the front wind shield . So I told them to take it off and I'll go somewhere else , when I got my car back my wind shield has to small cracks in it . I could call back but they aren't worth the time . Went in to get a new key fob and Danny couldn't have been any more friendly and quick to help! I was in and out in 15 minutes! I had to go beck 3 days later coincidentally for my husbands trucks alarm...the alarm kept going on anytime i used the old key fob his truck cane with....and he ran a diagnostic test to make sure it was just a key fob error and not anything else!! I go yesterday to Parkway Car Audio in Deer Park to get a remote which I lost for a unit they put in.(obviously my bad) Never a problem w the unit or installation. Owner..I believe.. gave me a "fair" price on a new remote. 150 for a pair COMPLETE plus tax. Now 150 × let's say 9% = 13.50 for a total of 163.50 so y was my bill 180? I did not ask nor did i care but most of these audio people seem to do this all the time. Parkway is not in the minority. Let me guess...they needed a "special"wire or a"special" screw or a "special"rubber band which was not included. I've yet to find a place that gives me a price and wen complete...the finished price was the original price quoted. These places include....Parkway Car Audio,Avenue Sound,Main Street Stereo and I'm sure a few more. The dollar amount is never much...10..15..20 bucks but WTF. This guy...if he answers at all will say something to the effect of ."I should have questioned at the time of purchase." Why do these plases feel they're on the same level as BRAIN SURGEONS OR BIOCHEMICAL ENGINEERS? I've said enough and feel a tad better for venting.... read more

All I needed was to swap out my old OEM taillights for some aftermarket factory taillights. I came into Parkway to get a quote on how much it would be and how soon it could be done, but I had the feeling from the get go that these racist people didn't even want me in their shop. Because of my young age and racial background, I believe I was treated poorly and given a ridiculous price quote on a job that should never be over $100. They set me up for an appointment two weeks later and told me it would be $200 to swap out the lights. I immediately knew it was a rip off and told them if I find someone to do it before the 15th I'll get it done. The people at parkway also seemed really unsure if they could do the job because they were confused by some aspects of the taillight wiring, which was a huge red flag for me to not pay these guys to possibly ruin my cars wiring setup and the new expensive taillights. I'm doing some lighting work on my car at another shop that told me they'd swap out my lights for $60 on the 16th. I'll surely wait the extra day and drive out to Yonkers for the job even though Parkway is only 5 mins from my home. Treat your customers better and start giving reasonable prices, maybe you'll get my business some day. read more

Needed an auto start on my station car and had some time before work one day. Did a google search and Parkway was the closest to my location. I didn't think they would be able to squeeze in a walk in install in the middle of January but i figured it would try. They were clearly busy but they managed to squeeze me in and get me out in about 2 hours. During that 2 hours i sat in the middle of their store and watched a bunch of customers come in and out. The staff and owner (or manager, not sure) were extremely pleasant and friendly. An older gentleman came in and asked if they could help him program the clock in his car, He didn't buy anything from Parkway, nor was the stereo a previous purchase, but the guy behind the counter went out to help him free of charge. For 2 hours they helped customers and chatted with me. They gave me a full training on how to use my auto start and as a bonus the remote gave me the ability to lock/unlock my doors.(the factory remotes had been lost for years so i had to use the key to lock/unlock the doors). I would whole heartedly recommend this place to people read more

came to get a remote for my used car that was new to me. i had only received a standard key so i wanted a remote to lock and unlock. they asked me if i wanted remote start too said i said yes. instead of telling me my car didn't have the ability to have a remote to unlock and lock they took it upon themselves to install remote start and not tell me until after i paid $300 that there's no remote to do that. i didn't care enough to just come for remote start. waste of time and money. read more

CROOKS!! Installed radio, broke gsp control module, tried sending me off before I realized, tried sneaking in a part from a junkyard, made four trips from out east to finally have the part installed(week late) and it was STILL a piece pulled from a junkyard & looked like crap. Also sound quality WAY poorer than before they touched it. Owner sends me away with "Nothing I can do". Also tried selling me on an $800+ speaker system and offered no professional courtesy despite the fact that it took over a week for an extremely poorly executed install and they fried a $250+ part and attempted to brush it under the rug TWICE. Complete crooks and absolutely terrible service. Left me standing in the middle of the showroom for hours every time knowing they had messed up. Do not trust these guys if they screw up they will make every effort to be sneaky and take the cheap route and/or dump it on you and send you packing on your own. P.s. The system was fixed same day with no additional equipment needed (no $800 speakers and amp, no new radio, nothing) by Main Street Stereo in Sayville. The guys there agreed that the work was done poorly and rushed and it was obvious that the guys at Parkway either 1.simply didn't want to be bothered and so they blamed the issues on anything they could or 2.had absolutely no idea what they were doing. read more

Came here on a friends referral and I'm super happy I did. Danny and the boys installed a new receiver and speakers and the quality and sound are night and day compared to what I previously had. Parkway has a huge selection of quality components fit for anyone's budget. I read some of the past reviews about Parkway stereo and I don't really get the negative comments but, I do think they were written by 3rd graders!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! I had work done previously about 2 years ago & was happy with the outcome except for the rude owner who doesn't know how to talk to his customers. Always has an attitude & makes you feel like your bothering him! Recently I decided ti make another appointment because they are around the corner from my house which wont cost alot for uber both ways because you cant wait for it to be completed. So i call to make appt & what do you know, same nasty owner with an attitude like im bothering him. ZERO MANNERS!! No please, no thank you & attitude in his voice! I made an appt on a saturday & was quoted $99. Called to change to a friday & quoted $110. Obviously he didnt remember quoting me $99 few days earlier meanwhile the Huge sign on window that can be seen from the road says $99 any vehicle tint 2 windows. That sign been up for at least a year. So now i have a rude owner who changes his prices depending on how he feels that day it seems. Went to another car audio store to have speakers and sub-woofer installed in my new Mustang Shelby Cobra GT 500. Was taken in by promises of grandeur. The equipment was installed but unbelievably the guy couldn't get it to work!! After spending $3,600 it sounded worse than the factory system. And I was told to wait until a "special part" came in that would bring it to life. Either that or I needed to spend another $1,000 on a new head unit.I got tired of waiting and called Parkway Car Stereo. They took me right away. Blake figured out what the problem was in a few hours and got my system sounding like it should. Then he moved my blue tooth wireless phone speaker to a better location so I can hear it when I'm driving at high speeds. And they only charged me $125!!! read more

i went to parkway for a remote starter on 12-24 15, they had a remote on sale for$150.00,and soi dropped my vehicle off,gave the keys to the gentleman who waited on me,and was told,we'll call you when its ready for pick up,no mention of my vehicle needing an additional part to make the remote work properly. when i was advised my vehicle was ready ,i returned to pick it up,and was told it needed an additional part,thatwas aprox.$ 121.00 more. i was not notified of the additional charge,nor was i asked if i approved the additional cost,even though this part was installed without my knoeledge or approval. when i returned to parkway not happy about this problem, i was told,if you are not happy, we will just remove it. i guess they do not want repeat business, or do they care about new customers,this was my first time at parkway,ans i will not return! and in all fairness, i did recieve a full refund, i just dont understand, how a business doesnt care about letting possible repeat business walk out the door. read more

As I mentioned in my first review, the alarm installation experience was top notch and as close to perfect as possible. I now decided to upgrade my factory stereo system. I didn't want to replace the head unit as it would become to complicated and would lose some of the ports that hook up to it. I told Danny the manager approximately what I wanted to spend (i did check with 2 large car stereo places local to my home and received similar quotes but for inferior equipment) and what I wanted accomplished and he made suggestions that even saved me some money. He also said that he tried it in 1 other car like mine and said it sounded great. I am very picky and skeptical but I decided to trust him since I was so happy with the alarm system install. I got there a little late on a Saturday and dropped the car, got a call late in the afternoon that it was done and got there after closing to pick it up. They showed no problem with me showing up late. The install and Danny's recommendations were spot on. the system sounded superb. I can turn it up to where I can't even listen to it and there is no distortion and the music itself sounds great you can hear all the instruments. One of the items I really wanted was more base (rock and roll not hip hop) so he suggested a stealth box, he knew I liked the cargo area space. I was going to go with a standard sub-woofer enclosure but I'm glad I took his advice and spent the few extra dollars. I was able to get a 10" sub instead of 8" and lost no usable space in the cargo area. Again the install was great, clean and neat. Couldn't tell anything was done. They even took the time to install couple of extra LED lights in the doors for my alarm system as I wanted it more noticeable. I have been back to have it tweaked slightly and they are wonderful about it they are extremely helpful and friendly. I would greatly recommend these guys for any type of auto installation job. read more
