Had the WORST experience with Patrick the manager & Devon the sales guy. Brought in a vehicle to have alarm looked at. They came back stating its not fixable and they had a $900 option. I brought it to another place & fixed it in 5mins by replacing battery to faub. Car toys charged me $160 and unwilling to take responsibility. Well the stereo system they put in develop intermittent problems very shortly after the installation I took it back to the car toys in Aurora Colorado four times and since they couldn't reproduce the problem They didn't fix it so eventually it went out of warranty and I got stuck with it. The timing job I got done they subcontracted out and was excellent work I'm down in Tucson now so that really comes in handy with The Sun. I just redid the whole thing fairly recently since I got that other system put in and during COVID. Now I have a much more powerful subwoofer in the truck connected to a 1500 watt amp and then I had four speakers replaced in the interior two deck speakers and the two front speakers and the guy who did it for me here in Tucson through in two extra speakers at no cost to me since the car came with spots for six although it only had four. And the interior speakers are running through a 1200 watt amp. And it's odd because that intermittent problem that car toys could not figure out to four times I took it back in there his new guy down here he noticed it right away most likely a faulty speaker. read more

I have to say how happy I am with the service I received at this location. I went in without an appointment to see about getting a remote start put in my older vehicle. Cosmo (asst. manager) was most helpful and Dave (technician) got me right in and actually had the remote start put in a full hour and a half earlier than was estimated. *DONT COME HERE* took my mother's Jeep Compass where to replace the OEM media screen. $1,500 later after they installed a new media screen there was a cord hanging out to the side, FM radio never worked, we went back to ask them to fix these issues, they said they would. I had them install the Clifford remote starter and after replacing my battery 3 times and taking to the dealership I found the problem is the install of the Clifford remote start and they would remove it for a fee! I bought an older Toyota 4Runner 4x4 last year that I just finally got around to wanting to upgrade the stereo in. Want something simple with no CD player, just USB and Bluetooth. I haven't bought or installed an aftermarket stereo in any of my vehicles in a long time but it used to be a big hobby of mine back in high school and college so I have quite a bit of knowledge in this field. But being older now with kids, job and other hobbies, figured I'd just pay someone to do it. After checking out a couple local places and not finding anything I wanted, I decided to go check out Car Toys. After browsing for 20ish minutes I found exactly what I was looking for, a simple Pioneer headunit with USB and Bluetooth. On sale too! So I go wait in line to see how much it'll cost to get installed and that's when it all went down hill. Stand in line for a good 15 minutes cause they only have 2 guys working inside. Told him the vehicle I have and the head unit I was looking at and would like a quote on installation. Click, click, click on the keyboard and he quotes me at $225 JUST for the installation of a $60 stereo! I said no way, that's crazy. He says I have some special factory amp and my stereo needs some kind of super special data relay plug to make it work correct. That alone costs $100. Tell him I'll think about it cause that doesn't sound right and he assures me it is and assumes I'll be back like everyone else. I go home and fire up the old iPad and start searching YouTube for DIY videos on installing car stereos for the Runner. Sure enough, it has the factory amp and sure enough, Car Toys was trying to rip me off. Not one of the 10 videos I wasted my life watching ever mention needing a super special data relay. All you do is unplug the amp and voila! it works no problem. So simple my 6 yr old could do it. So what is it I did to remedy this problem, of not having my beloved 4Runner rocking out as I 4wheel up some trails this summer? I'm sure your asking yourself... I went to crutchfield.com and found a head unit that has everything I wanted including wiring harness, installation kit and instructions(but who needs those now that I'm a certified pro via YouTube University) for $100 with 3 day shipping!! Now every time I fire that B up, I'll have the satisfaction of knowing I wasn't another victim to a company who probably needs to die a quick and painful death. read more

I came in back in March and had this dash cam installed I thought the people were cool however the installer did not ask where I wanted the cam installed as I thought they would ask me however that did not happen they took it upon themselves to call the shots and make a decision on my vehicle without my say. I let it go for a couple of months but now I reached i out because the cam is malfunctioning and is in a spot where it's more sensitive also it's obstructing my defroster vents which is not ok. This business has not responded to me at all via email nor phone and almost three weeks have gone by that is highly unprofessional and unacceptable period especially since I have a warranty and an extended warranty. Horrible experience. 1. They did not anchor down the subwoofer box in the back of my vehicle, which resulted in the box being flung into the rear panel of the hatch punching two large holes into the panel. 2. They installed the wrong LC2i. I purchased the Pro version and the regular was installed. Instead of fixing the issue during my visit, they only gave me the option for a refund of the difference and requested I bring my car in at another time (at the expense of my time) to have the correct one installed. 3. They did not show me where anything was installed. I found the amps under the front seats but to this day I still have not figured out where the LC2i is installed. 4. They did not discuss with me where anything would be installed. 5. They let me know several times what a pain my install was via update during install and upon payment. Not only was this a horrible experience in terms of service, it actually caused damage to my vehicle. My advice would be to never conduct business with this retailer if you value your time, money and property. read more

If I could leave zero stars I absolutely would. Made an appointment 2 WEEKS AGO. to get my car detailed. Had a nine am drop 5 pm comes around and still no call so I call myself. The manager Patrick says the hot water extractor is not working but they're working on my car and should be done by 8. 7:30 rolls around still no call so I show up and waited a couple mins for somebody to even come and talk to me. Keep in mind my car has been here 11 hours!!!!! They didn't even detail my car! And then still tried to charge me for the scent bomb. FYI my car still smells like shit. Got a refund but I will never ever do business with car toys ever again and I suggest you don't either!! Horrible horrible horrible customer service. I have been wanting to get my car detailed and I purchased a Groupon since there was a location near my house. I called and scheduled an appointment and thought I was all set and ready to go. I did call the next day to add my husband's vehicle on to the appointment and when I wanted to give my name the girl who answered the phone said don't worry we have the vehicles noted down. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted oddly like "thats what everyone has been saying" when I said I was in for my 11:30AM appointment. Then they said they would not have time for me today. The first guy got the manager and the manager said they had me in for Saturday (when I clearly called two different times for Sunday). Customer service and attitudes are definitley horrible at this location. When my husband said he was going to contact Groupon for a refund, the manager did go out of his way to squeeze us in for the appointment I already had. Okay....for the detailing, they did do a great job and did get every corner of my vehicle so for the good work of the detailiers and the fact that the manager did get us in...even though the attitude was not good about I will give them two stars. I realize I didn't pay full price with the Groupon, but I did still pay a good amount of money for this service....so this location definitely needs a good customer service training and organization for the appointment scheduling this would bring their rating up to a 4/5 star situation. read more

They wanted to charge me $95 for diagnostic and then told me I needed a new stereo. Decided to take it to Car Toys, who charged me only $50 for diagnosis. Turned out it was a loose wire. They fixed it no problem and with no extra charge. They also stated the stereo is just fine. I wish I knew the techs name he was awesome. read more

It just so seems that the majority of the people here are having problems with this specific location. With terrible service. I had the same problem with an exact location of where I wanted my auto start to be. Was not told if I wanted the transponder (whatever that antenna looking device is above my front windshield. If I wanted it in the center or the far right or far left. Just decided to put it wherever they wanted . And on top of that one button on the keyfob wasn't working witch was the trunk pop button. On my new remote. The person on the other side of the phone tried to lie there way saying why didn't you ask the installer while he was going over the car. How can I go over the remote when I haven't even received an item to look at? Tried to blame it on me like it is the customers fault.*( isn't the customer aways right when it comes to pleasing your customer Every one is dissing on "the big fat guy" pat that was on the phone and looked like it was a struggle just to walk around the store. Breathing heavily as he went into one of the rooms with all the display speakers you can push buttons to test. Not a good experience. Each person working there gave me a completely different price quote on the same exact item. As well as teling me the trunk pop. Button will cost me 50. Then another guy said no wait 100 to installed. Not happy with the way they treat people. I would rather next time go to best buy because of this nonsense. I set up an appointment to get my car cleaned over the phone with Luis in which I only wanted my car vacuumed and shampooed because we had just gotten back from a trip. Mind you I have a 2020 brand new car. He quoted me 40 dollars each row for that kind of service which would have been 80 plus tax right? I specifically told him I just wanted vacuumed and shampooed because I clean my own car and it's almost spot less. But our family of 4 made it a little dirty after our vacation and I didn't feel like cleaning it. A week later I go to my appointment and they try to sell me one of their packages which I again specificity told them I wanted only vacuumed and shampooed. They said it was 40 bucks per row per floor and seats! So essentially 160 not what was originally quoted 40 a row. They go out and look at my vehicle and recommend I do the pkg...which shampooing wasn't included but they said they would add it because it wasn't very dirty. The pictures will tell you how great of a job they did. I walked over it with Luis because it was still dirty. Like they didn't even try. They didn't offer to fix the problem and now I'm out 150 dollars for something I could have done. Thanks for making my life that much easier. I came here because I didn't want to do it and ended up buying a shampooer and cleaned it myself. Pretty sure they didn't shampooed it because it was dirty and no one had been in there since they "cleaned it" besides myself. When I picked up I confronted them about the dog hair and they said that was a different package?!!? Wtf why wasn't I told this before. I asked about the back of the front seats because they were still dirty. They didn't have an a legit answer besides I don't know but it was cleaned....no no it wasn't. The back was still wet per the condensation. The windows still have streaks inside them. There was a reason why I only wanted them to do what I asked because of things like this. Also my back seat now has a strain of something that wasn't there before. I can only assume they sprayed something on it and it wouldn't come out. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. Overall, this place has average customer service and after dealing with this dude, who is the store manager, I see why. Guy was arguing with himself about something not working on my girlfriends car instead of trying to find a solution and listening to what she had to say. On 11/1/19, I dropped my car off to Car Toys on Mississippi Ave. Aurora, CO 80012 around 0930-1000. They could not tell me an approximate time of when my car would be done. I was thankful to get it in. I had a wiring issue because the amp was drawing power from the battery while the car was off causing my car not to start. I received a call around 1400 from Chase @ Car Toys stating my car would be ready in about an hour. I showed up around 1500. I saw my car in the bay and asked how much longer it would be. Jessie checked and returned stating it would be about 30-45 minutes. I left the location and arrived home about 10-15 minutes away. As soon as I parked, they called and stated my car was ready. This was bit irritating because I was just at the location and they lied to me about the wait time. Upon re-arrival, I saw my car in the parking lot, but noticed the hood was cracked open. I went to my car and sure enough the hood was left open while my car was in the parking lot. I informed them of this issue when I arrived. A couple of days later in the evening, I noticed three lights below my radio, which were well functioning prior to Car Toys repair were now not lighting up and are now non-functioning. One of the three lights are my HAZARD LIGHTS, which are a safety feature. I also had a black sheet covering my speakers in the truck, which that was missing after the repair. I called on 11/3/19 and 11/6/19 and spoke to Justin. I reported the repair issue. He agreed I could come in around 9/10am today, 11/7/19 to get my car checked/repaired. When I arrived this morning 11/7/19, Justin was unavailable, but Austin was. Austin was nice and patient and did try to work with me, but the install manager kept beating around the bush and making excuses. I asked Austin if they took appointments over the phone because that's why I called yesterday to ensure I could be seen. He stated they are trying to get better with taking phone appointments, but they don't right now. Car Toys needs to fix the wiring issue they caused with my three lights. I appreciate them fixing the initial issue, but now there's another electrical/wiring issue with three of my lights, including a safety feature that was working well before I took my car to them. I value my time and others and they should as well instead of beating around the bush and requiring customers to visit the store to schedule appointments. Do the right thing and do better. They will continue to lose customers with this type of service and will have lost a good customer (myself) if this issue is unresolved. read more
