Gerry sent me a list of repairs that he had done to the car. When I inspected the car he admitted that three major repairs on the list had not been done. He explained that some of the repairs on the list might have mistakenly taken from another car's file. For the remaining repairs he did not bring receipts as promised. Be careful about this seller's representations. read more

Gerry turned the frustrating economical used car buying experience into a very fun and interactive experience. There is SO much junk out there. First and foremost, the car (2013 Mazda3) was in superb shape and as advertised. It was significantly above the quality of similar cars in the area and price competitive. Next, Gerry's communication was timely. It was easy to set an appointment to see the car (note, he doesn't have a showroom, we didn't care for the saving). Gerry walked us through all of the preventative maintenance performed on the car, and even walked us through his paperwork from auction purchase to our sale. The process was like buying a car from a family member that cared about us and our safety. 10/10 we would and will buy from Gerry again. He is a treasure. Thank you so much Gerry. read more

Gerry was amazing! I found him on Carfax and contacted him about a 2008 Toyota Corolla S and almost instantly he messaged me back. His love for his cars and the quality of service is apparent through his enthusiasm when talking about his cars and the cars itself. He specializes in Toyota, Honda, and Mazda and only deals with the best most reliable cars, even test driving the car for around 200 miles to make sure the buyer is only getting the best. Plus no hidden fees, everything he does to the car is included in the price. Nothing will ever beat Gerry! If you're looking for a reliable car at a great price Gerry from Car King Inc is your man! I'll come back in a couple of months and update on how my cars running! read more

I have purchased a lot of cars over the years and my experience buying from Car King and Gerry was one of the best! I bought a 2010 Mazda3 for my daughter. The price was great, the process was painless and the car is fantastic. My daughter still cannot get the smile off of her face. Gerry is incredible engaged, helpful and personable. He only picks quality cars with clean records and acquires them from solid dealerships. There is no haggling or hidden nonsense to worry about. You know you're getting the best deal possible, period. Car King - 2010 Mazda3 - super clean and a great deal! - Used Car Dealers Near Me - San Marcos, California

Based on the great reviews, I was excited to purchase a car I was interested in on their website. Over the course of a week, I tried contacting them through CarGurus, then by direct email, and called three different phone numbers, two of which had full voice-mailboxes. I didn't want to pester them and initially assumed that they were just busy, so I spaced out my attempts to get in contact. I had finally gotten in touch with someone from their office, who re-directed me to Gerry's direct line. Again, unable to leave a voicemail, so I resorted to text. No response. At least be decent enough to communicate. After reading through more of the negative reviews by customers regretting their purchase, I wonder if the no response has to do with my specific questions about the state of the vehicle's transmission and whether I can take the car to a third-party mechanic for inspection before purchasing. If so, that's shady. And a good enough reason for me leave it at this and take my business elsewhere. read more

We bought a Honda Civic from Gerry. Although he is very pleasant the car is absolute trash. It was clean and looked like the engine was in good condition, but after paying for the car we have had to spend another $5000 in repairs. We specifically asked Gerry if the car would be safe as we were getting it for our daughter. He assured us it was a great car. Sadly she has broken down on the freeway twice. Buyer beware. Looks and a kind disposition can be deceiving. We did ask if he would buy the car back since it is such a lemon but never heard back. I hope this review keeps someone else from making the same mistake. read more

The vehicle runs awesome and I feel confident that my son can have many more years to come with this vehicle without any major issues. Gerry was very easy to work with, he was responsive to my calls, email and text. I have already recommended my family that we had a great experience with Gerry. This is a difficult review for me to write. I'm an ASU student who did business with Gerry because I needed a car for my senior year of college. I saw the great reviews, did some of my research, and then reached out. Gerry was easy to talk to, helpful, and came across as a genuine personality. We scheduled a test drive on a 2010 Honda Civic and that went well. I first realized that I made a mistake two days after purchasing the vehicle. My dad and I did a test drive during a cool evening and it seemed like the AC was working OK. I mentioned that it felt a little warm but Gerry reassures me and says that it probably needs more freon but that he'll add it. First day driving at 90 degrees I could barely feel any cool air. I live in scorching hot Phoenix AZ so obviously this is alarming to me. I take it to Poway Honda for a complete inspection to inspect my AC as well as alert me to any other issues which the car may have. Several hours later I got a text informing me that my car needed immediate attention for an engine oil leak and insufficient shock absorbers/struts/suspension/tie rod ends & boots/steering gear & dust seals. To add to that they tell me that my headlights, tail lights, brake lights, hazard warning lights, turn signals, and exterior lamps will need to be replaced along with, of course, my entire AC. I'm looking at 2,000+ dollars in repairs. I pay for the most necessary repairs but I'm left feeling shocked, frustrated, and foolish. Fast forward to a few weeks later and the car has had numerous problems while driving in AZ. I've already had to replace the car battery once and today my car broke down while I was waiting at a stoplight. I have to look into what the issue is now but at this point, I'm tired of dealing with this shit. As I mentioned before, it's difficult for me to write this review because I felt like I hit it off with Gerry. He's a unique personality and it truly did seem like he was trying to help a college student get by with a good deal. But I guess first impressions can be deceiving or even misleading. I see the other great reviews and I'm confused as to how my situation ended up so much differently. I regret buying the car because I feel as though I overpaid when you factor in all of the grief that the car has caused me so far and all of the repairs that I've faced. read more

Bought a Mini Cooper from Gerry at Car Kings on 1/14. He got back to my initial inquiry immediately. Does maintenance on vehicles prior to listing. Showed up quickly when we texted we were at meeting place. Some running around to get payment and paperwork together. Gerry is pleasant to work with; fixed a window chip while we were in the bank. We are grateful he found a second key when he went to print paperwork. The car is as advertised, good value for money. Thank you, Gerry. read more

It was a great pleasure to meet Sherif and Gerry. They're a wonderful team! Gerry is an honest person to do business with and he enjoys making the experience personable, making sure no one is being thrown into the dark. The experience was relieving after seeing a few the bait-and-switches and tricks with other sellers. I bought a beautiful 2007 Prius with a clean title and the service history has been on point with all the routines at recommended milestones. Other than the treaded tires, the car passed inspection by a 3rd party. I appreciate Gerry for putting in the effort to list clean titles in great condition. I highly recommend Car King in San Diego to others :) Keep the dream alive, Sherif and Gerry! read more

I recently purchased an excellent vehicle from Sherif and couldn't have felt better about the experience. He was prepared and expeditious in regards to the appointment times and paperwork. Everything went very smoothly. I also thought Sherif was genuinely interested in finding the best outcome for both parties. I would not hesitate to work with him again in the future. This how purchasing a used vehicle should be. Efficient, friendly, proactive and professional. If you see a vehicle in Car King's inventory you are interested in don't hesitate to call. If you wait too long, most likely that opportunity will have passed to another customer. Give Car Kings an opportunity. If your experience is like mine, you can expect they will do their best to deliver a great outcome and get you rolling with a new ride in no time. read more

Bought a Used 2013 Mazda Mazda3 i Sport from this dealer. I was super impressed and grateful that care was taken even for details like polish and detail. In my personal opinion- you can tell a lot about the attention of the overall car just by the cleanliness of the inside, and this was a prime example. They also replaced things like struts and spark plugs before even advertising for sale. It is in fantastic condition, and even after getting a second opinion from another mechanic, green flags. I was also able to buy it for a very fair price. Gerry also took the time to explain parts of the car and how they work. This was my first ever car and the process is very beginner friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Review one month post purchase from Car Kings, San Diego Sold by Gerry Was told the AC leaked water but it was an oil leak *The oil pan was stripped and its plug secured with silicon* Gerry claimed the oil was changed but failed to mention this defect He also failed to mention the battery, air filter, rear breaks, rear shocks, rear engine mounts, rear wheel cylinders, and coolant tank all need to be replaced Bought a 2007 Honda Civic LX for a total of $7,000 plus the $3,500 I paid in repairs I asked Gerry to pay half the cost at a mechanic near me He said I would overpay and his mechanic could replace the entire engine for $1000 He suggested I bring it to his mechanic in San Diego, over an hour from my house, and 2 hours from my job I asked for help multiple times but he repeatedly went over the "extensive services done that no other dealership does, and the car was bought as is." read more

I have only good things to say about Gerry. I got burned on my last vehicle purchase, and was rather paranoid and anxious in finding another one. While looking around for the cars I wanted, I stumbled across Car King and Gerry. Gerry was prompt and direct in contacting me back. The car I initially wanted had already been sold by the time I contacted him, but he had a slightly newer model, that was a better deal for the mileage and price compared to every other seller around. We met up for a test drive. The car was clean and presentable, and he had all the car fax and maintenance info. The car ran great (It's had no problems since I bought it in January). I made a holding payment that went towards the down payment, and we scheduled a by date. Gerry set everything up with a bank and I got a great rate for the loan. He took care of all the paper work, and I've been happy with the vehicle ever since. The entire experience was easy, honest and clean, and I'll contact Gerry should I need a good car again. read more

Well here is a story you need to hear. I went through the entire carfax for the car I was looking to buy and everything looked good. Test drove and the salesman seemed very trustworthy and straight forward. Fast forward to the paperwork and paying portion of this experience, we used a bank loan and our bank required the dealer to call them and check to make sure the car was worth the selling price. My bank declined the purchase because the car was only worth 3,000 DOLLARS and he was selling to us for..wait for it, 5700 DOLLARS. So all in all, we didnt buy it, the carfax was fake, and that was the best con artist I have ever heard of. Don't go. read more

I had posted a review with 5 stars until the following took place, the day after I brought car home. Car was dirty inside and the floor also was filthy. Windows had a film on them inside, and found out it was smoke scum. I brought car in to tint the windows, they told me this, the following day. I was then accused of giving Jerry fraudulent cashiers checks. 2 of them, which I obtained from my bank. Quoting Jerry, "I dont want to have to call the police on you."The checks are fine I contacted the bank. I was handed 30.00 cash from Jerry to get the car smog tested. He should of done this not me. Problem is there is not 1 smog place in my area that will do it for 30.00 dollars. THE COST where I live is between 54 and 64 dollars. So im the end I got treated pretty badly. Not happy at all. I was dis-respected after my purchase. Every word of this is the truth. read more

Buying a used car is risky business. I was considering buying from a private seller as that is usually the cheapest way to go. I was also considering buying a car at auction. That's very risky because the cars are sold 'as is' and there is little opportunity to inspect and test drive the vehicle. With Car King, I was able to find a great 2nd car quickly without the risk. Sherif at Car King was very professional and allowed me to minimize the risk. I was able to test drive the car. I was also able to take the car to have it inspected by my regular mechanic that was only two miles away. The mechanic was very impressed with the vehicle. The sales person, Sherif, presented me with the car fax history of the car. The car fax showed a few owners but it also showed excellent maintenance. I was looking for a reliable but inexpensive 2nd car. Those two characteristics are usually mutually exclusive. I originally contacted them to see a Nissan Sentra they had posted on their website. Sherif let let me know that the Nissan had just been sold but they just obtained a Honda Civic. It was a bit more than I had originally budgeted. However, as I mentioned the car was in excellent condition - from the exterior body intergrity, to the interior, to the mechanics. To top it off, the price of the car was at the very low end of the Kelly Blue Book value. I didn't see vehicles in this category being sold much cheaper anywhere. The car was well-prepped for sale. Both the engine and interior were spotless. I know from the car fax where they purchased the vehicle - but as I mentioned earlier they take the considerable risk in doing so. It's clear that they do a good job both finding and preparing the cars for sale. I bought a car at the very low end of their inventory and it's been an impressive vehicle. Another thing I greatly appreciated was that there was ZERO pressure from Sherif. The most 'pressure' I got from him was him asking me what I thought. He never hesitated when I mentioned that I wanted to have my mechanic inspect it. He was very accommodating regarding the logistics of doing so. It was a very easy, very low pressure, fast buying experience. The only 'minus' is that they don't have a large lot with a large inventory. They specialize in finding good vehicles and having their mechanic get the vehicles in top running condition. All showings are by way of appointment. All in all, it was a very good experience. This is the first time I've bought a used car in 33 years but if I were to buy another used car tomorrow - I would contact Sherif to see what they have available. read more

Gerry- I just want to let you know what a horrible car you sold me. I know it's a used car but I can't believe I actually bought this thing from you. I was completely lied to and taken advantage of. I've had to replace every single tire - thank god one didn't blow out on me on the freeway. A rim was cracked . Every sensor went bad within days. The fuel pump is bad, the windshield wipers, back up camera does not work, the console drains my battery completely if I leave the car off more than one day- oh that's right needed to replace my battery too. After you told me it was a NEW BATTERY. No it was from 2017. So many BOLD FACED LIES. I NEVER received the door lock cover that you so called mailed to me after I bought it. Last night the car complete shut down on the freeway late at night while I'm going 70 mph home after working all night. The danger you have put a young woman in by selling me this car is just insane. Karma will come for you. I hope you don't do this to any one else "car king". DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LIAR. read more
