First off, their work is good and fast. I have been there…read moretwice in the last few months. I spent around 2700$ for 8 new sparkplugs and a new turn signal lever. $350 of that was just for showing up at their garage. They charge a flat 170$ off the top no matter what, and they dont do anything for that. Not air in your tires, they dont top off fluids, vaccuum the car, clean the glass. Just a gouge at the beginning and you get nothing in return. I will not be going back. But, if you dont mind the cost for nothing, they are very fast and very good. You can trust them to get it done, but it wont be affordable.

The gentleman there listened to the rattle for a second and told me he knew exactly what it was. He reached into the AC slot, pulled out a dead mouse, and told me there was no charge (I paid him anyway). Dealership probably would have said I needed a new compressor and charged me $900. I highly, highly recommend West Erwin Auto Repair as both knowledgeable and honest.

Initially…read moretook it to the dealer in Shreveport who quoted me $6500 to replace the computer module and pump. No way could I afford that price, heck the car isn't worth $6500! Luckily I found Allan at West Erwin Automotive who removed the computer, opened the thing up, figured out the problem, repaired it and reinstalled it! He then re-primed the pump and now everything works GREAT. Less than $400 total. Alan is the last of a dying breed, a mechanic that can actually fix stuff! Most just swap parts but not Allan. I think he could fix just about anything. The shop lacks the glitz of other shops in town but have no fear these guys KNOW what they are doing. I'm glad I found this shop because I am responsible for maintenance of about 8 vehicles. My job just got a lot simpler! Thanks Allan!

They installed a new one and of course the issue remained. I spent several hundred dollars and knew immediately when I picked up the truck that the "mechanic" did not have a clue. He told me "well you know these old trucks, if you park it for several days require you to disconnect the batteries!" A total fool. How many trucks would Ford sell with that disclaimer? They changed my oil this morning, a little less than 90 miles later my oil light comes on. Immediately pull over and there's oil everywhere. Walk around the car there's oil on the back end and passenger side of the car. I called maci lube and he advised it could have been an issue with the o ring on the filter, then said to drive my car to him. I said I can't because there's clearly a significant oil leak. He told me to go to a local place and call him in the morning. So I pay 125 to be towed to a local place where they see there is no oil filter attached. I call maxi lube back and he said he tightened the filter with a wrench so there's no way. He said he's not paying for the tow and can refund my initial oil change for "condolences". Go see him in person after my car is fixed and admits it could have been him but he's only willing to refund the initial oil change. Zero out of ten stars. Do not recommend.
