Definitely Not "Pros" I recently hired Car Charging Pros to install a car charger and, unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. After waiting for five months , I was informed that they would be refunding my pre-payment due to issues with obtaining the necessary permits from my association. Despite my repeated attempts to offer assistance with the permit process, their responses were slow, and there seemed to be a distinct lack of ownership over the project from their side. Throughout this process, I encountered multiple excuses regarding permit challenges, but it felt as though they were merely delaying rather than actively working toward a solution. When I finally proposed to handle the permits myself, the situation changed abruptly, and I was told they no longer had an electrician available in my area to complete the installation. Though they have refunded my payment and provided the electrical documentation, the experience has left me feeling frustrated and upset. I've lost five months of my time and now have to start over with another contractor to begin the permitting process anew. I cannot recommend Car Charging pros based on my experience. Stay away from this company unless you need the most plain vanilla install possible. I am not a licensed electrician, nor an electrical engineer but I have worked in the film industry, on set, as a Best Boy Electrician and also have three years of college physics under my belt, so my experience and opinion are based on a reasonable understanding of commercial and household electrical circuitry. My extremely unsatisfactory experience with Car Charging Pros was as follows: Last July I contacted Car Charging Pros about installing an EV charger in the garage of our condominium building. At their request I send pictures and a video of the electrical infrastructure in the garage including breaker boxes, sub boxes and meters as it seemed that that was the most logical place for the installation to be accomplished from. Upon inspection of the pictures Car Charging Pros electrical engineer insisted that the tie-in to our system be done from the Breaker Panel in the utility closet of our condo unit itself, even though that exists a floor above the garage and is situated on a foot thick cement slab and is hundreds of feet away from the charger installation spot. New pictures and video were sent. This process of going back and forth between Car Charging Pros sales representative and their Electrical Engineer took an entire month. Then finally two weeks later Car Charging Pros sent out an electrician who deduced in about a minute that the proper way to do the install was to tie into our meter which is 15 feet from the charger install spot, as I had originally suggested. He also concurred that trying to tie into the breaker box upstairs was a fool's errand. He stated that he would contact Rocky Mountain Power to get permission to do the tie-in and place a sub box below the meter. At that time, I asked him why he did not want to place the sub box to the left of the meter 24 inches away where there was plenty of room to mount it. He stated that that was where he wanted to place it because it was closer. Ultimately, Rocky Mountain Power rejected his plan as the Sub Box would not have enough clearance around it. At that time, I was informed by the Car Charging Pros office that it would now be incumbent upon me to contact Rocky Mountain Power myself and figure out an alternative. Needless to say, after two months of this run around I hired an independent local contractor who accomplished the entire job in ten days. The installation was done as I had originally suggested to the Car Charging Pros office and the sub box was placed with Rocky Mountain Power's permission, as I had suggested to the Car Charging Pros electrician, 24 inches to the left of the meter. When I contacted the Sales Representative for Car Charging Pros, their Office Manager, and the owners of the company I heard back nothing from them, crickets. Needless to say, this seems to be their M.O. I found Car Charging Pros to be extremely slow in responding to my needs as a customer and when my job became a little bit complicated, they chose to abandon it and throw the problem back into my lap. The only thing I ever received back from them was a bill for their incompetent electrician's site visit. So do yourself a favor and find a local licensed electrician to do your install and stay as far away from these jokers as you can. read more

I wanted very much to like this company. When I was first getting quotes for wall charger installation, Jeff on the phone was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and made me feel at ease with the process. Because of this call I ended up going with Car Charging Pros for my residential installation on the outside of my garage wall. My appointment time was originally scheduled for July 3rd between 8:00-10:00AM. Two days before the appointment I received a confirmation text with a different time frame of 11:00-1:00PM. July 3rd comes and the technician arrives closer to 1:00. He brings his ladder into the garage to get into the attic, pokes his head inside, and determines that it's simply too hot for him to go into the attic and that it would be necessary to reschedule on a different day earlier in the morning. I completely understood how hot at attic could be and we agreed to reschedule for my next day off on July 11th between 8:00-10:00AM. The day before the tech is set to come out, I receive a text from him that a situation has come up and he would need to move the appointment to 11:00. Because that time did not work with me we agreed to reschedule to the next day, the 12th, at 9:00AM. On the morning of the 12th at 10:15 I reached out to him because I had not heard any update and had been waiting for over an hour for him to arrive. He said that he was stuck on another job and wouldn't be there until closer to 12:00 and I reminded him that the attic would be an issue again. Once again, we rescheduled to July 16th. He told me at that time that I would be his first job on the board and he would be there at 8:00AM. July 16th comes and I wait. At 8:51 I texted the technician to make sure he was still coming that day as I did not receive any update and expected him to be punctual. He replied that he would be on site at 10:00 and have it done for me that day. He does not show up at 10:00 and I have another appointment at 11:30, so I leave for that appointment (my dad is still at the house to see him). When I get home from my appointment my dad informed me that the technician came, and then left without saying a word. I later receive a text from the technician that he went up into the attic to try to get the install done but there was no space for him to get anywhere near the electrical panel and that it was unsafe for him to go up there. I replied that this has been a huge waste of time, because at this point I was expecting to have this completed almost 2 weeks prior. Jeff calls me shortly after and apologizes, and together we try to consider an alternative to the attic route. We agree that it would be possible to route the wire down from the breaker box and along the garage wall to get to the installation site instead. I ask for a discount and he agrees to take $50 off. To put it bluntly, our garage is jam-packed. Our cars are kept outside because we use our garage as extra storage. In order for this new wire route to work, my boyfriend and I had to spend significant time rearranging the garage and moving everything away from the wall to clear a path for the technician to run the wire from the back of the garage, along the walls, and to the exterior. I explained to Jeff that I would do the work as long as the technician could actually show up to do the job. I was on a three-way call with both of them at this point and he agreed. We set the date for July 24th at 8:00AM (I was traveling out of town that afternoon at 12:30 and explained that I would need this started first thing.) On July 24th at 8:00 I receive a text from the installer that he is getting some extra materials for my job and that he'd be on the way shortly. Three hours pass and I hear nothing from him. I text him, frustrated at this point, and remind him that his appointment window was from 8:00-10:00 and that I would need to leave the house in an hour and that I just couldn't see how this could be completed that day. He responded that he ordered the materials on Monday but that they hadn't arrived and that he was having to go to two different Home Depots to get the materials needed for my job, that he was "literally" driving to my house right now, that he already explained to me that I didn't need to be home to have the job completed and that he assumed someone else would be there. I texted him back that no one else would be there to oversee installation. Jeff called me again shortly after and I explained to him how frustrating of an experience I've had with this installer who completely disregards punctuality and severely lacks communication skills. The most frustrating part of this experience, besides the almost entire month wasted, was waking up at 7:00 each morning waiting for this technician who would either not show up on time or not show up at all. I requested a refund of my $100 deposit and ended the call. By the way, the next company I hired came out on time, installed through the attic, and finished in 1 hour. read more

We selected this installation team instead of others because they promised to get us on the schedule faster. I waited on Wednesday for two hours and no one showed. I called and waited another hour for my phone call to be returned. It never was, so I called again to learn no one was coming. I rescheduled for Sunday. Again, no one showed up for the installation.
