I had a local company come out to bid on some furnace work after the company I had a service subscription with missed something big, but they gave me bad vibes, very sales-focused. Given my track record with service pros, I decided to just tackle it myself. Fast forward to last night: I woke up at 3am in a panic wondering if I'd done it all wrong and convinced we would die from carbon monoxide poisoning. This morning I called SOS Heating and Cooling, and honestly, this is the kind of service that reminds you good people still exist in this industry. Jake came out the same day. He actually listened to my concerns instead of talking over me. He walked me through everything, put my mind completely at ease, and (here's the kicker) he's the only HVAC professional I've ever met who didn't immediately try to upsell me on seven different things. Capable, honest, sympathetic, and straightforward. That's it. That's what good service looks like. SOS Heating and Cooling has earned a customer for life. They'll be my go-to for anything plumbing or HVAC from here on out. If you're in the SLC area and need someone you can actually trust, I can't recommend them enough.

They all said they could not come out until Tuesday (this happened on a Saturday). After waiting for a few hours and hoping for a cancellation from "the other guys" I hopped onto Yelp and started calling down the list. Luckily PHS had availability day of and came out within a couple of hours. He wore boot covers to protect our carpet and explained everything as it progressed. Turns out a contractor who finished our basement 5ish years ago drove a screw to anchor the HVAC duct and put it straight into the hot water line. Our technician found it quickly and was able to repair it fast. The price was reasonable and about what we expected to pay for his work and time. He said to call back if it continued to leak, but we woke up the next day with no leaks so we are confident that this was the problem and he had remedied it for us. We'll for sure keep these guys in our back pocket for a "rainy" day. (That's a water leak pun)

One company sold me a service contract to inspect and clean my heating and air conditioning. They told me I needed a new air conditioner. Bridgerland confirmed that I still had 3 years or more left on the unit, it only needed a minor cleaning. I hope others have the same experiences I've had with Bridgerland. The only reason I am giving this company one star is because I can't give them NONE!…read moreFirst American Home Warranty assigned this company to my broken HVAC, and it was the worst insurance experience of my life. First of all, the technician who did not introduce himself with a name, is the only employee to the company. There are not multiple technicians and therefore he answers to no one. Secondly, he came out to inspect my HVAC and told me FAHW would not replace the system, but would rather "put a bandaid on the situation until my policy expired." Can you believe that?! Additionally, when he figured out there was no chance in salvaging my HVAC he told me FAHW would cut me a check for the amount of the system and I could hire anyone else to come out. (This seemed like a good option at this point because I didn't want to do business with Bridgerland again.) Fast forward three weeks, FAHW has still not been able to get ahold of Bridgerland to find out the exact information based on what the old unit was so they know how much it cost to replace it. (Therefore, it has still not been fixed due to his incompetence, disregard for his dozens of angry voicemails I have left, and general lack of human compassion due to the fact it is 100+ degrees EVERY day and he knows he's the only thing standing between me and a fixed HVAC. You could choose ANY other company and be better off than hiring Bridgerland.
