Arrant was very personal, prompt, and gave a pleasant overall vibe and feeling.
Our 17 year old AC went out and we were looking to replace it. Obviously when you have to replace an AC or furnace or both, you know it is going to be expensive. We had 3 other companies come out to assess our situation and give us a bid and their efforts weren't as complete as Arrant's assessment of our AC and furnace. All other's assessments came to the same conclusion that we needed a new AC and furnace. Arrant took the time to look at our AC and furnace and gave options about what could be done. Arrant was the only one that said that our current AC could be fixed but that it would only be a patch job with short term results. They didn't recommend fixing the AC but they did say it could be done (which we did not do). Arrant looked at our furnace and found that our 17 year old furnace was in good shape except for the blower. Arrant guessed the blower could last another 2 years or so. Arrant had 2 more recommendations for our situation. They recommended 1) getting a new AC and furnace (which we didn't do) and 2) keeping the furnace and simply replacing the blower (which is what we did). The last thing that impressed me is while looking at our furnace the also looked at our water heater. It had been leaking for awhile (which we already knew) and Arrant pointed that out. They said if they were to do work for us on our AC or furnace, that they could replace the water heater as well at a certain (very reasonable) price. They also reviewed our vents in our house and saw we didn't have any vents in our basement and said they could run 2 more if we would like (which we didn't do) for another certain (very reasonable) price. Overall their assessment for our needs was stellar. And then there was Arrant's pricing compared to others.
Some of the other bids were from larger companies and their prices were laughably and absurdly high. Arrant's bid was the most reasonable, honest, and what we needed for our situation. We were able to replace our AC, blower in the furnace, and water heater for a little less than the cheapest option of the larger companies. And our new AC isn't some cheap, garbage no-name brand. I did a little research beforehand and our old AC was a 2.5 ton (how cold the air gets) unit but wasn't keeping our house cool. I asked if we could put a 3.0 ton unit in instead Arrant said we had that air flow that could handle it. We ultimately got a Carrier 3.0 Ton 14 SEER unit (energy efficiency level). Our was a single stage blower (either on or off) is now replaced with a variable stage blower ("always on" but pushes air when it is needed) and Arrant anticipated that it would make our AC more like 16 SEER. Our unit is a beast and keeps our house very cool.
We found out about Arrant by a friend and I would highly recommend Arrant for all your HVAC needs. If I ever have an HVAC need again then I will be giving them a call first. read more
