Great car wash. The line was sooooo long but worth it. It took about 1 hour from jumping in line to driving out but you see that they are working quickly but with great care and detail. Theres a little waiting area to sit and drink coffee and rest. The wash is a little pricey compared to other car washes, even other hand washed ones, but I was happy with the result and would go back. read more

I've been going to this car wash place for years. I must say the last couple times it has been less than great quality. It was recently bought out by someone else a year or so ago and well, it's just not the same experience. I paid for the premium which is $41 before a tip and for that kinda of money you expect a certain sort of attention to detail. They didn't clean one side rocker panel at all. The back mat on one side isn't clean at all and they didn't even finish the dash. I think this was my last time going here and that makes me sad. They do a great job, but be ready for a very long wait. Today it was a 70 minute wait on the street before you could even pull in to the building. I tried Friday around 5pm and the line looked even longer, so I skipped it. I've been taking my car to them for at least 10 years, and there have been lines in the past, but nothing like what I've seen recently. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or if they have suddenly become super popular. While I was waiting, I heard someone call in to ask for the wait time. It was my first time at this car wash. I waited more than 30 minutes on the road, then another 25 minutes inside the car wash. I ordered the under-carriage wash, for an additional $5.00. Don't waste your money. My wheel wells were still dirty and had salt, so they either didn't wash them, or did a poor job. I will find another car wash. I went here after a friendly highly recommended them. It was my first time and I didn't get a lot of instruction from anyone but I followed what I had seen customers before me do. I chose option #3 and upon first glimpse the car seemed well cleaned. However, I was in a rush to get to a doctor's appointment so I didn't do a walk around until I got to the doctors. I found multiple spots of dirt/bird poop that had not been cleaned by the cleaning technicians. They also didn't clean some of the inside well, either (crumbs in my console, dirt marks on the inside of my doors. I was disappointed with this service. read more

Personal items and change were missing from my middle console. A type of ID piece from work was missing from there, which is how I discovered it. Called them a few hours later when I realized it and said the guys must have put their vacuum into the coins and in doing so took the work thing. The person on the phone said it was offensive that I'd accuse them and that they are not responsible for items left in the car. I explained that my complaint being offensive is irrelevant, and asked if sticking a vacuum into a console full of coins like that is permissible then under the guise of them not be responsible for things in the car, that they can just take whatever then and it would be OK. I was hung up on. There is no possible way my work things is simply missing, misplaced or fell out of the console. The only way it could be missing if it was taken during the car wash. read more

The workers there were confused, and I was given a cell phone with someone's boss who said the only person could detail the car wasn't there. Great small local place to get your car hand washed without paying an arm and a leg. The men working there were very helpful walking me through since I've never been. You basically pull up to the garage door on Lakewood Avenue and leave your car keys with them to proceed to the checkout counter (they take credit cards!). You'll wait in the waiting area until your car is finished (there are snacks and even greeting cards for purchase). I went on a Monday morning around 8:45 am and was finished around 9:10 am (there was a car before mine). I asked for package #4, which was $5 off ($5 off on any packages Monday- Thursday's before 10:30 am). I think they did a pretty good job on my car. The interior was clean (dashboard and all the books and crannies in my cup holders and they vacuumed my car mats and washed them). The exterior was nice and shiny when I got it back. I'm usually a $5 car wash kind of person because I can never find a place that will clean my car to my liking (yes, I know how bad that sounds). But wow, Car Care Specialist just might be a game changer! All of the washes are in the $20 range for SUVs, but they do a darn good job, inside and out. To echo what others have said: the quality of the job is definitely on par with much pricer spots. Best of all, it's hand wash so none of those swirly marks on the paint the cheap drive-thru machines create. Also, the team working here is SO fast. The line wrapped nearly down the block, and I was worried about how long it would take. But once inside, I was in and out in under 20 minutes thanks to the fast-working, power-scrubbing team of 10+ car wash ninjas. My only regret? Not checking this place out sooner! Thought I'd give these guys a try today since they had pretty decent reviews. Bad decision, but it may entertain you to read the shocking story below. I had dried concrete on the side and back of my car so I took it in and asked the person doing the job to power wash the driver's side and back, but to NOT dry it as the concrete would scratch the paint. I got in the car and drove home where better light showed me he clearly did not listen (pics attached). I called and spoke to someone named "Frank" and we agreed I would come by later in the day to look at the damage with him. When I took Frank to see the car he barely looked at the car and immediately denied his employees did anything to cause the damage. Fair enough. As dishonest as it is,any sane person wouldn't want to pay for the damages. But what he did next was the most insane thing I've ever seen a manager at a business do: Frank starts cursing at me "f*** you, you tryna take advantage of me!" and as I tell him I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone he starts physically shoving me back to my car then tries to slam my car door on me as I flee from his crazy tantrum. I'm not kidding. This guy assaulted and battered me, a paying customer, right in his own business. I'm in absolute shock about what happened. Not sure if I should file any sort of criminal report against him on top of the damage to my car. Again, it's okay for the business to talk with me about why they don't think they caused the damage, but the violent outburst of Frank is not normal. read more

Nice bunch of folks, friendly greeting. I did visit during the middle of the day on a weekday also so it wasn't too busy. I know special requests are difficult and hand car washes when busy are working to crank them out. I recently took my convertible out of storage and while it wasn't dirty, it sure was dusty. This is an old car, it has it's share of little dings and what not, however even with that a clean car looks better. Being a perfect top down day, my request was for them to wash it that way. The top is canvas, and I didn't want to get it wet and enclosed it that way, and I certainly didn't want to drive around with it up. Doing a wash this way does slow down the line, so I wanted to go when there really wasn't much of one. The other issue is they have to be careful while rinsing, let's face it it's much easier to spray a car down when it has a roof on it. The guys took great care when working the water around the top of the doors and trunk. I'll make it a point to stop in here for my top down washes. read more

I can not rave about this place enough! Ever text friends about the new car wash place you stumbled upon because they were that good? NO, well get ready to do so! My car DESPERATELY needed some TLC. Between the Chicago winter and my messy kids my car looked like a dumb. I went to 3 different car washes only to find out that they were closed because of weather....It was lightly snowing. Not only did they do an amazing job like go above and beyond, to take off sap from our christmas tree that had gotten on the windshield that 2 other car wash places had left there, but everyone was so nice and friendly! Not pushy, and for a sedan, the most expensive wash is $25. Most of my car was immaculate, but the rugs didn't get cleaned in the front and there were still a couple big marks that didn't get cleaned, because yeah, sometimes I spill things. Overall nice job and GREAT waiting room! read more
