Love this place and the food! The staff is friendly and great. The hot dogs are yummy. The fires I think are they best part though. Hands down the best place to come for lunch while at the beach. The owners are great people who make everyone feel welcome. Kids meals come served on a frisbee as the toy. Great value. Disappointed to say the quality and atmosphere has declined. Went this evening and there was no a/c on. It felt like 80 degrees inside with fans swirling around hot air. The menu has gotten smaller with prices still pricy. The French fries weren't salted and there were a good bit of burnt ones, the ketchup tasted watery too. The hotdogs were not anything special like they once were. Messy and poorly made. Plus the lemonade was once so good. Now the lemonade is watered down. Really disappointed. read more

great casual atmosphere with so many different topping combos! my partner and I came here after a long drive to OBX and enjoyed a well-deserved lunch on our first day of vacation. service was swift at the counter and all the employees are friendly. the set-up of the restaurant was a little confusing, because as you walk in, the first thing you see on your right is the tshirt stand, and we ended up accidentally standing in that line for a bit before realizing the counter is located 5 feet in front of us instead. there is a indoor and outdoor sitting area on the bottom deck, with a nice upper deck too for seating. the shopping plaza it's located in is great for browsing and window shopping. we got our food relatively quickly and it and was delicious! I had the Chicago dog and my partner had the bbq sandwich. the slaw was fresh and crunchy. there are many different size of hotdogs for the varying levels of hungry. I went with regular and it filled me up! definitely would recommend this place for cheap eating and families. the decor was beautiful with many colorful beach chairs setting a great setting for the beach house view! read more

We stopped here on our way home from OBX. We were expecting great hot dogs based on the reviews. Dogs were okay, nothing great. The variety offered was good, but the bun fell apart after one bite. The cashier was not friendly and did not smile. There was one male server in there. I was taking some napkins. He asked me if we were eating in or taking out. I told him that we were eating outside. He put his hand on mine (the one that was taking the napkins) and said, there are napkins at your table. He was rude. We will not be back. read more

I would have given it five stars, were it not for my standards on great dogs. The best I've ever had are Zweigle's Natural Casing Pop-open Whites. When you go up to order, the lady writes it down on an old fashioned green order ticket and uses a wooden clotheshanger clip to attach it to a line hanging above the counter and then whips it down to the cooks like she is going to hit him, hilarious! But anyway, the hot dogs and crinkle cut french fries are pretty good. I topped my dog with chili, onions, and mustard. Since they do not offer a condiment bar, you must order your chili and onions on your hotdog. After you order, you just sit down at a table and the waitress just brings it out to you. Before we reached our table to sit down, the server was right behind us with our food. How is that for service, wow! I recommend this hot dog joint for sure!
