It's the same concept as Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab in California. It is BYOB! So I walked across the street to Target, got some Seltzers and brought them to our table. This is prob the one thing that I love the most. Great service. The seafood boil is pretty good. They give you a bib and gloves to keep you relatively clean. You have to use your hands to eat your food and work for it. Go for the seafood Cajun sauce (garlic, butter, lemon pepper). It was super good flavor. Mild is the way to go. We asked for spicy sauce on the side for an extra dollar. I would skip the preset family meals. Order 1-2 lbs of your favorite seafood. They have prices per lb on the large chalk board. The shrimp, crawfish was cooked well. The crab legs were boiled before cooked, so the shell was soft and easy to cut with scissors. Next time, I'd get the shrimp, crawfish, clams, and mussels. The family feast ($145)- came with king crab, snow crab, option of 2 from shrimp, crawfish, mussels, clams. Also, a scoop of rice, green beans, garlic noodles, and fries. I would pass on the king crab and snow crab. Garlic noodles were average. Fries were average . They also sell boba drinks if you like that

I would not recommend the chicken bites for the kids meal. They were very dry.

I think it's a super fun nostalgic play on the classic Spaghetti O's. Of course these were way better, with the vodka sauce and meatballs. We walked in on a Saturday around 5:20pm, and were told it would be about a 20-30 minute wait, which was fine. We left, but ended up going back after 5 minutes to ask if we could just sit at the bar to order a drink while we waited. The hosts were super friendly and allowed us to do that, even though I think bar seating was part of the reserved seating. A couple minutes after we ordered our drinks, the friendly hostess came and let us know there was a cancellation so we could be seated at a table right away. To drink, I ordered the Secret Third Thing and it was delicious. Along with the Spaghetti Uh-O's, we also ordered the cabbage, which is cooked until it is tender and served almost like a caesar salad. My boyfriend got the fried chicken vesuvio and it was served in a fun bag with a personal sauce container. The chicken was fried perfectly and had a nice crisp. It only comes with maybe 3 little potatoes. We also got the focaccia and the garlic honey butter was soo good!

Our server Lara was fun to chat with, and she was very helpful sharing her favorites and suggestions. Nice selection of beers, including Hopewell from across the street, and THC infused drinks. 3 cheese lasagna was classic with delicious sauce. My wife had the Spaghetti o's which was great with clever presentation, but over salty, even for her who salts everything. She said she would not get it again. The focaccia was good, but the honey whipped butter stole the show. Ravioli (sweet corn, polenta, goat cheese and ricotta with candied jalapeño) was unique, tasty and tender with fresh pasta. The decor and artwork are old school, kinda English pub like. We will be back!

An Absolute Gem! Exceptional Food, Vibe, and Hospitality…read more My husband and I tried Amano Bistro for the first time last week, and we are already planning our next visit with friends! The open-kitchen concept creates a friendly vibe the moment you walk in. It is an intimate space with nice music in the background. The food was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with the Prickly Girl cocktail, which was excellent, followed by their special Arancini appetizer. For our mains, the Seafood Risotto and the Veal Scaloppini with garlic mashed potatoes were both absolutely phenomenal--perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the team. Our server, Anna, was fantastic and took great care of us all night. My husband had a problem with his entre, which was dealt with immediately. At the end of our meal, the manager, Alex, stopped by our table to see how we enjoyed everything and thoughtfully brought us each a digestif. That extra touch of hospitality really capped off a perfect evening. If you're looking for amazing food, a great atmosphere, and a staff that genuinely cares about your experience, Amano Bistro is a must-visit!

Ana the server was really informative on the menu and passionate about what this place has to offer. I'm so glad she recommended the brussels sprouts because those were the best brussels sprouts I've ever had. I think it was the pomegranate molasses that really put it over the top. I also loved how she gave me recommendations on what pairs well with each other. My risotto was perfect. Nothing too heavy, and the seafood was cooked to perfection while the scallops were still super tender, which is hard to find. I love the idea of the open kitchen concept because I was seeing everything made in front of me. The menu had so many different items to choose from. I will have to try everything else soon. When it comes to the service and ambience that really stood out to me and made the experience 1 million times better. It really felt like a cozy family run place and it was clear that everyone really enjoys working with each other. Alexsander was really passionate about the restaurant and every guest that came in. This is a hidden gem in Chicago with top-notch food!! I'm so glad I came across this! It's perfect for a romantic date night if you're looking for somewhere cozy in a neighborhood spot.
