I could no longer put off a leaking faucet. I thought I could watch a YouTube video and do the repair myself. What a mistake; lack of tools and old piping stood in the way of a new career as a lady plumber. I have other repairs that I will need to have done; it was time to call a professional. After a bit of research, I called Captain Rooter. They are a locally owned family business, which is important to me. Will came out the same day I called. I am usually uncomfortable having repair people in my home. Not this time, I did not feel that I was being talked down to. Will is a competent plumber and is an honest businessman. I have other work that I need done, and I look forward to having Captain Rooter take care of all the plumbing work I need done read more

Omar helped my hot water heater problem and plugged shower drain! He did great job fixing both issues. Will and Omar are very responsible and professional and I will call them again for any plumbing issues! Also very reasonable price! Thank you Omar and Will! read more

These guys know what they're doing, and are great folks. We had an emergency, they came out right away, explained the issue and got right to it. I'd highly recommend. read more

Great company and service man! They followed up with text and phone calls. Repair man replaced our instant hot. Area was left clean and job well done. He even ran out to get a better part to prevent leakage. Repair man masked and followed Covid precautions! Well done! read more

Captain Rooter saved the day - again! A year ago when I purchased my home, I had a leak right before I moved in - of course! I called Fidelity Home Warranty and they assigned Captain Rooter and Plumbing. Will came out and fixed the problem and showed me some other essentials (how to turn off water in the bathrooms, etc.). Fast forward to a year later and, yep, another leak!! I contacted Will (via FHW) and he was able to come out and fix the leak. Having plumbing issues is NEVER fun, but Will makes me worry a little less when he's on the job. Thanks and I would recommend Captain Rooter and Plumbing without hesitation. read more

I have had a terrible experience with this plumbing company. I was connected to them through my home warranty company (Fidelity Home Insurance), and they were supposed to come and fix a leaking toilet. After canceling and delaying the visit multiple times, they finally came over, made a wrong measurement, and brought a toilet that was too large for the space! They also claimed that smaller toilets do not exist, even though the toilet before the replacement was properly fitting and I have links to multiple toilets of the right size on home Depot! They left the toilet half-installed and claimed they did the job to the home insurance company! The lid of the toilet does not fit!!! And was never installed! Later when the home insurance company contacted them, they refused to come and fix the problem and replace the toilet with the right size toilet! Claiming that the job is finished and they did nothing wrong! This created a headache of more than 30 (one hour long) calls to the home insurance company, and I am now forced to take legal actions and take them to the small claims court. Absolutely do not recommend this company to anyone! read more

I had an excellent experience with Captain Rooter and Plumbing. They were assigned to my repair by Fidelity Home Warranty. I had them out for two separate issues and they came out expeditiously and fixed my two issues. Will was very communicative and very helpful. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing issues you might need. read more

Will was responsive, showed up on time and keep in contact with me as to when he would arrive. What a breath of fresh air. He did a fantastic job! I give Will 5 stars!! read more

My home warranty company recommended Captain Rooter. CAPTAIN ROOTER IS TOTALLY AWESOME! Willie and Jet did a fantastic job of replacing a toilet. Willie found the perfect toilet (even when it was hard to find) and their installation job was flawless. It was a heavy toilet and this was not an easy job. A+++++++++++++++++ Do not ever hesitate to use Captain Rooter, totally awesome! read more

Nobody wants to deal with plumbing issues, but my experience working with Will was as smooth as I could've asked for. I needed to have two shower cartridges changed, and Will did a great job of coming in, diagnosing the problem, and swapping in the correct parts. It actually became more complicated than I thought because I live in a condo and we had to coordinate the water shut off to the whole building, but Will was punctual and professional the whole time and always kept me in the loop on when he would arrive. He actually ended up coming back a couple of times to finish the job because of complexities with my building, but he worked with my home warranty company to make sure I wouldn't get charged for the extra trips. Everything works now and I have hot water! I'll definitely work with Will again if I have a plumbing issue. read more

Tankless Water Heater issue diagnosed and resolution suggested over text message exchange. This model of operation might not be for everyone but worked well for me. Thanks again and will use Will's help next time. read more

Doesn't get any better than Will. It was a great experience working with Will! He is professional, honest and a pleasure to deal with, someone you can trust. I called Will and he called me back almost immediately. After a quick assessment, he told me that the problem was minor and the fix was relatively straightforward. To save money, he even encouraged me to do it myself and he gave me the name of the part, right down to the brand name, to buy and advice on how to do the job. Nevertheless, I still insisted on Will doing the job, because I wanted it done right. Will went right to work and fixed the problem. Overall - great service and professionalism. I'm definitely calling Will for all my plumbing issues and I'm referring him to all my friends. If you need a plumber, you should do the same! I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed. read more

Overall my experience was good with this company. They replaced a water heater for me via AHS home warranty. The person who schedules appointments and does the coordination is fairly responsive and easy to work with. Will also has been very courteous and answered all our questions. He seemed to have done quality work overall but he wasn't really detailed oriented. He damaged our drywall a bit as he tried to anchor the heater. Though not a big deal it could have been easily avoided. However they play this game I call "the extras game". Once it is determined that heater needs replacement home warranty calls me and says there are several things that are not covered by the contract and that I will have to pay for them out of pocket. I inquire what these extras are and they charge $50 for hooking the heater up to existing vent, $80 for screwing in a gas sediment trap, $100 to install a grounding wire, $100 for installing earthquake straps, $75 for inserting a 2x4 between wall and heater, $50 for wrapping hoses with foam insulation. So yes, lots of money for very minor things. read more

Non-responsive. My home warranty company contacted them on a Saturday, and said that I should hear from Captain Rooter on Monday. When I didn't, I called them, and got a voice mail saying that although I can leave a message, I would receive faster service if I texted them. So I texted them. No reply. I called back and left a voice mail. No reply. Three days later, still no reply. If they're not interested in having my business, they should at least say so, so I can find someone else. My hone warranty company volunteered to contact them to see why they never got back to me. I declined, and found another plumber (Flowright) who called me back within an hour. read more

Will is the most honest, trustworthy and hardest working person I've ever met. Long story short, my water heater burst and I have a warranty through American Home Shield. They sent out Captain Rooter (Will) and he took a look and said I would have to still pay out of pocket to bring the water heater to code and the warranty wouldn't cover that. I got upset/annoyed, not at Will but the warranty company. He was set to replace my water heater the Monday after Thanksgiving and I cancelled because I was dealing with my warranty company. Mind you, I called him several times asking questions about the parts, replacement, etc. and every time he picked up and was up front and answered all of my questions. He even mentioned doing a cash out option with my warranty company and buying it myself and having someone else replace it. He just said he couldn't just swap out the heater and not bring it to code (makes sense). Come Tuesday and dealing with the idiot AHS Warranty folks, I gave up and called Will to see if he could come and replace it. He was booked all week and but he said he would try to squeeze me in. I told him I had a pregnant wife and 2 kids so no hot water and especially after me canceling our original appointment, I was 1/2 way in the dog house lol. He understood and said he would come on Friday. Mind you, he was out on calls all day and he showed up at 6pm and spent 3-4 hours to get it replaced so my family could have hot water. Any other person would've just done it over the weekend or the following week but this guy is a man of his word. He does his job, works hard, and we have HOT water!! Thanks Will! read more

Captain Rooter (Will) came out on a home warranty. They are professional, communication is excellent, service is excellent and they are on time. We had out hot water heater replaced and new unit installed. There was no mess at all left behind. This is the second time they have come to our home for service. You will not be disappointed with Capital Rooter. Don't look any further call them now. I will only use them moving forward. read more

Will was a pleasure to work with. He righted a wrong in our bathroom. He and Chit replaced a sump-pump in a bathroom that should have been a sewage ejector system. He readily identified the problem, gave us multiple options on how to go about it, along with his personal recommendation. His prices were competitive and fair and he did a very thorough job. Though we did find him through our home warranty company, I will definitely use him again for any plumbing needs. Highly recommended!! read more

We had a number of plumbing issues including 2 blocked sinks and the water pressure coming into our home was off the charts too high. Will was called out to fix it via Fidelity Home Warranty and was fantastic. He let us know when to expect him and arrived on time. He wore a mask (as did we) which we appreciated during this strange time of Covid-19. Will fixed our many plumbing issues and was professional and friendly. He also answered my husband's many questions. I recommend Will to anyone looking for a great, reliable plumber. read more

My first time using Will, and he's a knockout. Even used a remote camera to examine any blockages. Good sense of humor as well. Didn't find any specific blockage in our john, but it's back in good order. Have to go get my own long auger now for emergency situations. Second job was more complex toilet removal & replace. Walked Amer Home Shield thru need to get a different type flush mechanism. Did very nice job, took time to explain everything he was doing. read more

He did and great job installing my new water heater. Would definitely recommend him and his company. Very professional. read more

We have had the privilege of working with Will twice now. He's always been punctual & professional. The quality of his work is superb! He installed a hot water pump for us outside and he has also done some drainage work for us. He's prices are really fair. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs plumbing services. We will definitely use him again. Thanks Will! read more

We've had a recurring problem with a very slowly draining bathroom sink. Will (that is, Captain Rooter) is a very nice guy who went way above and beyond what other companies have done in clearing out the pipes and giving us advice on a biodegradable agent that can be used for preventive maintenance. Highly recommended. By the way, like others here I ended up using Captain Rooter through my American Home Shield service contract. I'm not at all crazy about AHS and may discontinue their service. But that's not Will's fault. If you have an AHS or some other service contract, you might specifically request him. I'll do so in the future if I need further plumbing work. read more

It was a dark and stormy night. The phone rings from my tenants in Berkeley. There is a hole in the downstairs ceiling from water damage. Fortunately my Fidelity National Home Warranty provider knew all about "Will", who came out ASAP to put our fears to rest. He found a leaky copper connection to the water heater in a place we couldn't see, then replaced it with a stainless connection that won't fail. REALLY good to have experienced and "Willing" people too help you out of a tight situation. Will is now on my "go to list". read more

Needed a faucet and toilet flush repaired. Very simple jobs. Will came 2 hours late. Did not understand how to repair the either. Took pictures of both.....and simply left. Never heard back from him..... Not even sure he is a plumber..... read more

Had a leaky pipe from our water main. Will came out on Saturday and fixed the problem in a very professional and courteous manner. Knows exactly what had to be done and was very reliable and friendly. Highly recommended! read more

Horrible! They came to give an estimate to replace my water heater, they said it needed to be replaced ( it was leaking) and waited FIVE DAYS to call with a diagnosis. Their estimate was quadruple the cost of a local plumber. If they didn't want to do the job they could have said instead of jerking me around and pricing out of the ballpark. Buyer Beware. read more

Will is the best. Seriously. I've had other plumbers come out who were just run of the mill. Will came out, redid our water heater and fixed our toilets all less than in the time he quoted. Very easy to work with and communication was good throughout. Seemed very knowledgeable and honest. Would definitely be the first on my list to call if I ever have any plumbing issues. read more

I've called Captain Rooter on several occasions to fix my bathroom plumbing, garbage disposal, shower, and hot water heater. After my mother passed I needed his help with her hot water heater. Years of prompt, valuable, and reasonably priced service is a constant with this trustworthy company. Mrs. C. Abbington read more

Our water heater broke and Will arrived to save us. After he removed the old one and installed the new one, he even took time to show me features of the new water heater. Will has a warm and professional attitude, is reliable, communicates realistic timelines, and of course, does excellent work. read more

I had my kitchen completely remodeled. The contractors who put in the cabinets and the countertops wanted a fortune to update the plumbing and install the fixtures. Captain Rooter to the rescue! Will rerouted my washer and dryer to another location, put in a waterline for my new water/ice maker refrigerator, installed my sink, faucet and garbage disposal and created (tapped into?) a gas line for my gas stove. Will's work was professional, quick and accurate. Plus, he didn't try to get me to pay more or get things done that weren't needed--no pressure. We plan to work on our bathrooms next. I'll definitely call Captain Rooter to replace my toilets and faucets. read more

Fast response, reliably on time, honest work. Will has done 3 jobs for me: * cleared slow kitchen drain (replaced connector pipe for free, even though it functioned, but likely to clog again) * checked condition of garbage disposal after previous plumber said I needed to replace it (it was in working order; previous guy failed to loosen nut to get it functioning again) * cleared slow shower drain Shop is locally owned here in Oakland. It's a small family operation, so you are most likely to get the owner actually doing the work (until he expands and hires another plumber). read more

I had hired Captain Rooter to replace all the plumbing under our house. We loved the price, Wil and his secretary. Work was completed in a very timely manner and I was thrilled. BUT there were some things that needed to be "tweeked" a little and he did send a gentleman over to fix the problem but of course when the guy left we realized that the problem had not been resolved and to get Captain Rooter out to fully complete the work is beginning to be a thorn in my side read more

What a relief to receive kind, professional, timely service. Will responded to my service call within 24 hours and completed the job within 2 hours, keeping me posted along the way. I called Captain Rooter after receiving service that I just knew wasn't right. I had been dealing with a leak that I was told by another company "would require extensive repairs, beginning with cutting through the bathroom tiles." I don't know anything about plumbing but I followed my instincts and called Captain Rooter for a second opinion and I am so glad I did. My day went from one of stress and feeling distrustful to one of content with my problem solved! Now I just have to find an auto mechanic that I can trust as much as Captain Rooter - needless to say I will be calling on them FIRST for all of my future plumbing needs! read more

We just had a great experience with Will and I recommend him highly. We had a drainage issue in the kitchen and water heater problems on a new house. Will was thoughtful, professional, diligent, knowledgable and even kind. He fixed both issues, had a creative solution on some additional longer term work that we already knew needs to be done, and he was patient and a good communicator on talking through our options. I was dreading this day because of the issues we were having, but he definitely brightened it up! Thank you, Will! read more

Avoid at all cost! Will, who is apparently the owner, took advantage of my Elderly Mother by charging her for doing nothing and proceeded to replaced my kitchen sink Chrome P-trap with cheap plastic and took my chrome one with him. Too bad that wasn't what the problem is. The issue was simple house smelled like a Porto Potty rotting in the sun. I had removed the Disposal and P-trap only to discover that they were spotless, clean as can be. On replacement however I discovered that the PVC down-pipe thought the floor was just hanging there broken under the house. This is what he should have fixed but was not bright enough to figure it out. I am not a plumber but this was just completely obvious! You can stick your head in the floor opening turn on the water and hear it flooding under the house. I wouldn't let this guy near my house. Will if your reading this I want my chrome P-trap back. read more
