Bryan is an absolute angel of a person. Last month we had catastrophic rains and my sump pump failed and my finished basement flooded - my office, guest room, laundry closet, and basement bathroom were filling with water. The water was coming in at around an inch an hour, and most every plumber I called couldn't get out until the next morning to help. Bryan came over at 10 pm (on a Sunday night no less!) on very short notice, and hooked up his sump pump to get the water out of my basement. Not only that, but because it hadn't quit raining, he left his sump pump for me overnight so that the basement wouldn't just fill back up with water. He must have been exhausted, but he returned the next day with a brand new sump pump to install. And on top of it, his rates were more than fair! Bryan really went above and beyond in my moment of need; I was desperate and stressed and he was so kind. Because of Bryan, the damage was minimal, all my appliances and almost all of my furniture were saved, and the only work I needed done was drywall removal and replacement. (Note: this happened in 2025) This is pretty disappointing to write, I'd had a couple of excellent experiences with Bryan and team in the past: prompt, reasonable prices, very competent work. In this case, our toilet was leaking and they found a crack in a section of the soil pipe. But the quote ($1,200) seemed high. I asked for more details and was told that the job would take 6-8 hours and the materials are expensive. Leaking waste water isn't a good situation so I agreed. The next day the team of two showed up and finished the job in under 90 minutes and demanded full payment. I said I'd talk with Bryan. I inventoried the parts used and priced them at a local supply store: $75. When I asked Bryan to reduce the price since the estimate was so inaccurate, he refused, said I'd agreed to the work, and accused me of taking advantage of their trust. When I pointed out that I trusted them to give an accurate estimate and that I just wanted to pay fairly for what the job actually required, he got angry. Do not use them. They are not licensed. They do not stand behind their work. Why would anyone use them? I used them successfully for a rather large project rerouting a bath plumbing line which required opening up the kitchen ceiling. I was happy with their work. Then, I used them the second time with terrible results. There disregard of our underground drainage system when connecting a new waste line to the existing sewer line which caused flooding in the basement and thousands of dollars of related damages. I called them and asked them to come out and review the damages with me. They never called me back. I emailed and texted them with the same results. Our complex had a sewage backup that was seeping into one of the neighbor's unit so we had to get that cleared up. We were quoted $250 and he would be on site within 60-90 mins to run the the line to clear it due to the emergency, we agreed. Bryan came out pretty quickly which we were grateful and ran the drain, the water cleared and he was done. Once he was done, he told me that I can call Water Damage Restoration to have the mess cleaned up which I think was his way of letting me know he wasn't cleaning up the leftover sewage . It wasn't a huge area so that was fine, we cleaned it ourselves. However, the backup started again the next day and when I called and spoke with Bryan and asked him how many times he ran the line. He informs me that he doesn't offer warranty and the lady (our neighbor) watched him run it and the water drained. So, he recommended a camera as it may be a bigger problem. As it turns out, this was a brand new sewer lateral (about 1.5 months) so I called the company who installed the line and they stuck a camera in there and was told it was a block of grease and wipes that was causing the blockage. I advised them that we had a plumber run the drain yesterday but because the equipment he used was small, all it did was pop a hole in the hardened grease so as more waste flowed, it caught on to the remaining grease which caused another backup. I am very disappointed dropping $250 when it just backed up again rather than making sure that it was done sufficiently the first time. My experience with professional plumbers ensure that it is completely opened and have a hose or something to at least hose down the area, and if it backs up within a day, they go back out to see what the issue is to get them back in service. They don't say we don't offer warranty which I can understand if I was calling like weeks later, but this was literally less than 24 hours. Very unprofessional in my opinion! read more

We had a plumbing emergency where all three units in our Tri-Plex were backed up in the toilet to the shower. They got to my house at 8:30 and the technician worked until after 11:00 p.m. to unclog the main line and also our shower. Our shower wouldn't drain so he had to take off the side stopper and advised it may break because it was old. I appreciated that. Paco was nice, respectful and even let us know to let our landlord know that there may be a potential issue with the sewer line and showed us in the camera. The next day water was cold and pilot light was out. Came out again and said pilot light is on.. next day cold water. After three days without hot water he said to get a new water heater. I called this company at 8pm for an emergency toilet clog. The website advertised 24/7 emergency services "any clogged drain for $69.99. This is what his website stated. So I reached out to arrange for emergency service, the gentleman that answered my call told me. It's after hours and it will be a minimum of $650 for me to come out. I shared with him what I read on his website and he said "well I'm telling you it will be $650 for me to come out. I'm only here to say, It's simply unacceptable to advertise misleading business information. What's more disappointing is his dismissive attitude while speaking with me as a potential customer. Let's Bring back ethical business practices that reflect customer care in whatever capacity of service you specialize in. I really liked this guy the first 4 times I used him. He will come quickly and at odd hours and keeps the price low if you pay cash. See that sign for $69.99? I paid way more than that. Maybe I got special Alameda prices. The last time I called him, he wanted to charge me double what he always had but switched up the price on me *after* the work was done. He also tried to put in a side sewer clean out for me. He ripped up my shrubs, didn't preserve and replant them and left a big mess when he was done. A friend in real estate told me he overcharged for the job. Every time someone sells a house their sewer main needs to be up to code so she sees a lot of side sewer replacements. First time hiring a plumber, wasn't sure what to expect. I had a drain stopper that was clogging the bathtub and the water wasn't going down. I reached out at 9pm and got a response within an hour and was told a tech could get to my place in the morning. Techs came and were friendly. Plumbers love to call sewer grinder ejector pumps "shit shooters," even if the pump only services gray water and no actual sewage, so I will too... My "shit shooter" burned out and oily kitchen water was starting to back up into my house. This happened 3pm on a Friday and I must have called 8 places. Bryan was one of the only to be responsive, but in the end I got three quotes for the fix: $1,100 from Rescue Rooter, $600 from another outfit in San Leandro, and $375 from Bryan. He told me just what to buy at Rubenstein's, and we coordinated so that he could come first thing Saturday AM. True to his word he came out early, fixed the thing in 2 hours, and charged me as quoted. Thank goodness I found this local independent company and saved myself several HUNDRED dollars. If you see the $69.99 on Yelp and on his website, just know it's $150 now. Like Sugar E. mentioned. Bryan was great at first few times when I used him. This past experience was pretty awful and will be the last. He wanted $150 for a main drain clean out and said his price went up. This was after he arrived on the job and he wouldn't honor what's posted on his truck, Yelp and website. A clean out which he's done previously. All he did was take his sewer drain rooter out ran for 5 min. and took my money. The problem with that is he only rooted part of the drain (like 10 feet) and the water backed up the next day. I didn't bother calling him again because I knew he wasn't going to be coming out to fix it right away, and he was going to charge me more $$$ for rooting it again. Had a clogged toilet and these guys came through the same day - great. They told me it would be $75 to snake it and $250 if they had to remove the toilet to get to the clog. They ended up having to remove the toilet and pulled out a toy. Soon as they left, toilet flooded again. They came back the next day and snaked it again. Left, and clogged again minutes later. $250 down the drain, unfortunately nothing else going down any drains. Had to call a new plumber today. I scheduled Bryan to do some basic plumbing to our residence. With most repair folks you can schedule a time for them to show up. Not with Mr. Fixit, it's first come first serve. We are required to call or text at 7am and let him know that we want him to show up. If you're fortunate enough to get an appointment there's still no guarantee he will show up on time. We scheduled for a Monday 9am appointment and later said he couldn't be there until 12-2. By 1:30 Monday I realized he's not leaving enough time to do the work before I have to pick up my child from school. I contacted him via text and asked if he was coming soon and if not we'd have to schedule for the following day. I got a thumbs up. Again I was told to call or text at 7am to confirm. I explained that I also have a schedule and need to be able to plan my day, the day before. He reaffirmed that I should call or text at 7am. At 7:19 I wrote a message thinking I confirmed our time. By 9:00 I've had my schedule cleared and ready. I texted twice with no response. I followed up with two calls and left messages on voicemail. It wasn't until I texted him at 10:21 am and told him he failed to show, that I got a very unprofessional text response full of capital letters and accusations saying we were the problem and canceled on him multiple times. I had a clogged drain and called and spoke with Bryan this afternoon. He told me that he would arrive within the hour and he was very punctual, courteous and professional. The screws that went in to my drain cover were already stripped and before he started to work he explained to me that there was a high probability that the screws were not going to be useful after he removed them and he told me that I may have to go purchase a new drain cover.
