The location of Captain Jay's is one of my favorites, normally I order whole wings, but this time I decided on the flavored wing dings. The wings were fully cooked, crispy, and the flavor was amazing. They were just great, the only they lacked was a good coating of sauce. I haven't been a fan of places that don't leave a nice coat of sauce, but that's just me. The fries were great as usual, I grabbed this from DoorDash and surprisingly it arrived hot & on time. The poppers were not completely done as the cheese was a cold wad. The mac & cheese was ICE COLD. I will never order from here again and will advise my friends to go elsewhere. I have had all bad experiences with the female employees. After visiting this location multiple times, I cannot recall being serviced by a male cashier/order taker. On more than a few occasions I have experienced: The employees barely wanting to take an order. Becoming extremely irritated when questions are asked. The manager (male) is cold and has a get them in and out attitude. I understand dealing with the general public CAN be challenging, however, customer service should not suffer. This restaurant recently opened up in my town. The wait to pick up an order inside was a bit longer than what was anticipated, but it had a really busy drive through at the time. So, that was to be expected. The staff was friendly. And the wait was pleasant due to the charming conversation with another set of patrons waiting for their order as well. This place has a catering menu; so, if you are looking to pick up a lot of fish, shrimp or chicken, this is a good place to take a look at. The seasoning on the fries was really nice. The breading on the shrimp was nice and crisp, and the shrimp itself was done just right. The fish also had a nice crisp breading with the fish itself being nicely done. If I had to complain about the shrimp and fish for anything, it would have to be that it had the same seasoning as the fries, and the seasoning worked better on the fries. Upon finding out from my wife and I that this place opened up, my mother in law checked out the place. She says that it is better than the one that she usually goes to in Detroit, because the food was made from fresher ingredients. read more

Been here twice. Ordered the perch and macaroni and cheese. Both times was amazing. Food was very hot, and cooked fresh to taste, I'm assuming this is why the wait time was a little longer than anticipated. Customer service here was as expected, kinda hard to give phenomenal service through bullet-proof glass (I was unaware that the neighborhood was in that rough of shape lol). When I ordered and picked up my food everything was great. Service was great.. the ONLY reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they didn't have a replacement for the coleslaw like the other locations I've been to. I been going to this restaurant for a while and lastnight was the worst experience I've ever had. I ordered 50 whole wings and a lb.of shrimp. First of all I only received 42 wings, second there was no lemon pepper on it. Third when I pulled a wing apart I noticed it wasn't cooked all the way and only the smaller pieces were done. Then when I called back to speak to the manager the person that answered was kinda rude. I gave them one star because I had no complaints about the shrimp and the manager made me feel like like he would speak to his staff. Overall it was a horrible experience. I will say their food is GREAT but a very over priced. They will not give any refunds if the order is wrong which I hate. They will automatically up charge you for your drink, I don't mind it's only .25 cents but a lot of people would prefer you to ask first!
