Food was fresh and a generous portion. I ordered the Old Bay seasoned grilled white fish platter with French fries, rice, and broccoli along with an iced tea. The price was shocking at first, but I quickly realized that I would get two meals out of this purchase. The drive thru was convenient, employee was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I can remember when this location opened up about fifty years ago. When I was in high school, they had an all you could eat fish dinner on Monday nights. The high school athletes would all come in and have a feast. This was my grandfathers favorite place to get fish when he was alive and lived nearby. read more

When you do a big shout out about a place to eat, you don't often think about what would be considered a fast food place. But I gotta give props to this location of Captain D's. I've been on a crispy chicken tenders kick for a while now and I can tell you this... Captain D's consistently delivers the product it advertises. Too many times I dreamed of truly crunchy yet moist and fully cooked chicken strips. Too many times, I have ordered from other places- some much more expensive than Captain D's--- and received old, cold, and floppy chicken tenders. Not so with Captain D's - their consistently food arrives warm and crispy and delicious. Part of that credit goes to our door dash driver but the majority of the praise goes to Captain D's because it all hinges on the food. They have left out my dessert twice but their food is so good that I almost forgive them. Almost. But if you're hungry for some crispy food done well (hubby loves the battered fish, the shrimp and the clam strips--and we both love the hush puppies) - so I crispy delicious fish or chicken done fast and done well - if that appeals to you --- (and you know it does)...then look no further than this location of Captain D's. I love seafood. Captain D's has some great options: fried fish (of course), catfish, clam strips, crab cakes, lobster bites, shrimp, and grilled seafood as well. Prices are reasonable and similar to Red Lobster's lunch prices. The food comes out reasonably quick, and the service is good for fast food. This location is also very clean and pleasant inside. They also have a rewards program which I haven't yet checked out myself, but I plan to. read more

oh my... customer service... horrible. my entire order was messed up, the kid was paying more attention to his phone than his job. are they allowed to use their phones like that while working? I asked TWICE please make sure to put plenty of vinegar in the bag. I put great emphasis on this. I have a weird food thing. the kid I guess was smiling, he had a mask on, winked and say got ya! then watched him stand and play on his phone till it was time to screw up my order. I ordered the jumbo fish tenders, the menu makes no mention they're spicy. I can't have spicy foods anymore. so I call, the kid in the drive thru is who answered the phone. Not only did he say to me," umm we don't do the advertising, that's for like our bosses" I was so mad over his, "yeah so what" attitude I didn't even notice till I hung up the phone, I ordered green beans, he gave me Mac and cheese. I can't have Mac and cheese. and then the grand finale... he gave me a FORK to eat the loaded potato with no bacon bits or cheese on it!! I was here for late supper and was only one eating in. My 2 piece dinner came out fast and hot, sides of fries were hot and coleslaw was just ok. The fish always reminds me of big fish stick, but they are good. . They have other seafood items on the menu but i always stick with the fish. This was probably the worse restaurant experience I've ever had. It took the "waitress/cashier" 10 minutes to even acknowledge we were there. After we ordered, to go, we had to wait another 10-15 minutes for our food. I thought that would be great because it would fresh, boy was I wrong! We were asked what kind of sauces we wanted and we said tarter, cocktail, and vinegar...we got NO sauces. After finally making it back home our food was cold, the fries were not cooked, and the slaw was hot. One of the takeout containers was dirty, so one person in our party didn't even get to eat. Never again will we visit this location. The last several times the employees have been more interested in flirting, talking and joking around with each other, then to wait in the customers. Even though we haven't been back the manager has reached out to me and has given us free coupons to try again. Got a Deluxe Seafood Platter and it was beyond gross. The fish was absolutely soaked in grease. So greasy it just fell apart. It was like the workers dished oil over like gravy. All but the stuffed crab was saturated in grease, cold, and inedible. Mac and cheese congealed and dry. Green beans very salty. For a 15min wait in drive thru, I would hope my items would have been fresher and drained properly. I've learned my lesson and give up on this location! read more

The fish is not the same batter it used to be, not as good. More like you would find on chicken at every fast food joint. Portions are half what they used to be. A piece of fish is 1 inch x 6-7 inches. The "side" of rice came in a styrofoam creamer cup the size of tarter sauce they give you. The hush puppies were cooked well, but cold, as were the fries. Basically, the food was not good, but I will give 3 stars because the girl at the counter was nice. Customer Service is so important... yet sucks most everywhere you go. I likely won't return soon because the price vs. portion has gone up IMMENSELY and the fish is different/not as good, but I do appreciate nice employees. read more

I'm sorry I have to give them a bad review but the food was subpar. i ordered the giant fish sandwich and the bread was as hard as a brick. I asked the young lady at the counter for a replacement and she did bring me another but it was as hard as cardboard. my giant fish my be on a diet and my daughters corn was a dark grayish color. This was my first visit to this location, an I found it to be clean. The staff that saw, worked hard and was under manned at that time. I ordered the fish and chicken combo, because I didn't want 3 pieces of fish. I was pretty hungry, an ordered the green beans and slaw as sides. The food was up quickly, and even though one doesn't have high expectations here, the food was poorly prepared, The chicken was ok, dry. The fish was not crisp,an was very greasy. This has to be the worst staff on Friday, November 11, 2017 at 6:30pm. I ordered lobster sauce with noodles.and it smelled fishy, sign of being old, and it was dried out. The broccoli was over cooked and old. When i called to complain, Steffani the manager, told me it was impossible it is made to order. I said NO WAY!!! Bad food, bad service. Had my gf stop by to pick up food for dinner. Food was cold and under cooked. Salad was rotten. Called manager and was told they had been having trouble with bad salads so instead of not selling them they just pass them off as good and hope no one noticed. Was very rude about the whole thing.
