Without an apology or acknowledgment of our experience, she responded that she would tell the chefs to "rush" our order. We never asked for our food to be rushed -- we simply wanted an update because we had already been waiting far longer than expected. When our food was eventually brought out by another staff member, it was cold after nearly two hours of waiting. At that point, my husband asked to speak with the manager because not only was the wait time unacceptable, but the food was also cold. The manager eventually came to our table, apologized for the delay, and offered to discount the meal. My husband thanked him for the apology, but by that point, we decided the experience was not worth salvaging. We told the manager we did not want the cold food or watered-down drinks. Not only was our Mother's Day celebration ruined, but the lack of accountability from the staff and the poor customer service made the entire experience extremely disappointing. Even though it wasn't very busy for a Sunday lunch, the music and bar noise made it a little difficult at times to hear others at our table. I wouldn't consider this a date night type atmosphere, more casual open dining. Drinks: Solid beer selection with enough variety for most tastes, plus a small cocktail menu and a selection of wines. Overall: Harry's Downtown is a solid spot for a casual lunch or dinner. If you're in the mood for a good burger, or consider yourself a bit of a burger enthusiast, it's definitely worth checking out. This visit was positive enough to plan another visit to explore other delicious sounding menu items. We'll definitely be requesting Deq when we return! Thank you!

Cheap albeit greasy seafood shack. I concur with other reviewers that it's a notch up from Arthur Treacher or Long John's. The sign says "fresh" but vegetable side dishes are obviously canned. And they don't use real crabmeat, so fresh is a relative term. But there are 5 kinds of fresh fish available on the menu including salmon, tilapia, catfish and flounder. All fish are filets. Gumbo didn't have authentic cajun flavor but wasn't bad. Good hush puppies, tasteless dinner roll. Breading is somewhat heavy and strongly flavored so a nice alternative is to order some of the non-fried menu items such as grilled fish and rice, which is nice. Extra points for a great job of re-creating that fun beachside feel inside and out, and the menu prices are pretty old-fashioned, too. Plus they have free WiFi, which is a cool alternative to the coffee-shop or hotel lobby. read more

We ordered twin lobster tails, a shrimp and scallop meal, and fried calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was the first problem. It arrived extremely dark brown, burnt, and crumbly, with a strong burnt taste. It should never have been served that way. The twin lobster tails were even more disappointing. They were cold, or barely warm in the middle, when they arrived at the table. The menu mentioned dipping butter, but none was provided. Lobster that isn't properly hot and doesn't come with the advertised dipping butter is simply not acceptable. The shrimp and scallop meal was also a disappointment. The presentation was extremely poor--it looked like the food had simply been slapped onto the plate. For $27, I received only three shrimp and perhaps five very small, penny-sized scallops. That's an extremely small portion for the price. The service wasn't much better. The restaurant appeared to be seriously short-staffed, and the servers seemed overworked. I understand that staffing problems happen, but customers are still paying full price for their meals and should receive food and service that meets a reasonable standard. The biggest question I have is: What happened? I've eaten here before, and the food was good. This visit was completely different. Burnt calamari, barely warm lobster, missing dipping butter, tiny portions, poor presentation, and mediocre service made for a very disappointing dinner. For $111, I expected considerably more. Unfortunately, the meal was overpriced for what we received, and the overall experience fell far short of what I remember from this restaurant. I sincerely hope this was an unusually bad night and not a reflection of the restaurant's current standards. But based on this visit, I would have a hard time recommending it.

There was more of it than I would eat in a normal meal, but that doesn't matter. It was sooo good. Generous portions, great food, and a great experience, would highly recommend.

For the main course we had NY steak, pork chops, and Greek Salad. Food taste and quality were great. We had some left-overs that we took with us. It was time to get back on the road and continue the trek northward on a congested I-95. If I didn't have several hours of driving ahead of me I would have indulged in their delicious looking deserts.
