This was my first time visiting this location , been to the north hills location several times. I just got a half dozen of cookies (chocolate chip,oatmeal raisin, ginger, snickerdoodle (2)and confetti ), wasn't busy for a Thursday afternoon. No line after dinner on a weeknight, so fast service here in the food court. I thought the chocolate chip cookie (4/5 stars) and the oatmeal raisin cookie (4:5 stars) were both good, but the double chocolate (2.5/5 stars) was a disappointment because it tasted flavorless. I'd go back again but I think I preferred Insomnia Cookies and Crumbl Cookies. read more

A tasty treat located in Transfer food hall with ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, cookies and edible cookie dough! Great for a sweet treat after trying lunch/dinner from another restaurant in the food hall. We tried the vanilla ice cream and an ice cream cookie sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie with butter pecan ice cream, the flavors of ice cream and cookies were all very mild. The worker there let us know the cookies were fresh and needed more time to cool for a sandwich, so that was very helpful! read more

First time trying the cookies here and they were just ok. I got a chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and double chocolate. The chocolate chip tastes like raisins and was a little salty The snickerdoodle was decent - not too sweet and not bad at all The double chocolate was recommended by the cashier and tastes like a chocolate brown but was very good! Unlike insomnia cookies these aren't hot but all in all worth a try!! read more

Captain Cookie is located in the Transfer company food hall with multiple other businesses. They offer edible cookie dough, baked cookies and other treats. I ordered a half dozen cookies for sharing. I chose the oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies. Chocolate chip cookies are typically my favorite cookies but I really enjoyed the oatmeal cookies at this business. All of the cookies were soft and chewy even days later. I will def be back to try more flavors. read more

Located inside the Transfer Co Food Hall, at the front and to your left, Captain Cookie is exactly what you'd think it would be. They have fresh baked cookies in all the common flavors, sold individually or in price bundles. A popular option is an ice cream sandwich where they take two of the somewhat large cookies of your choosing and stuff a generous amount of house ice cream in the middle. Because the portions were so generous I decided to just get one cookie with a scoop of ice cream which came out to a little over $5. So worth it! I got the valentine's day pink funfetti cookie with, of course staying i on theme, strawberry ice cream. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I had just had a dank burrito from next door and could only get about half way through the mound of ice cream, so i'd recommend sharing with a friend if given the chance. I love cookies. And i love common cookie flavors. Sometimes you don't need to reinvent the wheel when it's just that good. I appreciate this business and i appreciate their affordable pricing. I also appreciate how freaking kind the guy behind the counter was. If everyone was that nice the world would be full of a lot happier people. I'm very thankful for the great Captain Cookie experience and would come back again for dessert if/when in the area. read more

Raleigh's 2nd food hall. Smaller in size that its' cross town competitor but the same trendy, hipster vibe. As the name infers, it's an old warehouse building, refitted in modern industrial chic. Plenty of seating at bench tables inside plus an outdoor patio. On-street parking was easy to find. Not too crowded on this Sunday afternoon. For dessert we slid over to Captain Cookie and the Milk Man amd grabbed a scrumptuous ice cream sandwich. A big scoop of vanilla ice cream in between 2 fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Creamy rich ice cream, fresh soft cookies. Worth every calorie! Plenty of other things to try, so will be back! read more

Can never go wrong with an ice cream sandwich! Made a day trip to Raleigh and checked this space out inside Transfer food hall. I love that they offer different types of cookies with different types of ice cream so you really can customize it to whatever you want. The staff there was friendly but seemed like they were a little overwhelmed when the line got long. Will definitely stop by again when in Raleigh. read more

Sometimes simple is all you need. This place does cookies excellently. Got a ginger molasses and a chocolate chip, & they were delicious. Heck, even the chocolate milk was great. Didn't get ice cream this trip but definitely trying it next time. The service was also good, the staff were pleasant and helpful. This is a great place to stop in for a snack, or grab dessert after a main course from one of the other places at Transfer. Only complaint is it can get loud and crowded on weekends, but as is life a Friday night. All in all, definitely recommend. read more

We decided to get a dessert after dinner at Transfer Co. Captain Cookie was the logical choice. The fun about this place is that you get to pick not one but two different cookies, and then you get to pick an ice cream of your choice in between. There are about 7 different cookies you can choose from and about as many ice cream flavors to pick from. I chose the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies then put cupcake batter ice cream in the middle. The overall product was overwhelmingly sweet, but that's to be expected given the flavors we picked out. The service was friendly and the portions were generous. However, the price still feels a little bit high for a dessert. read more

Call-in before you head out late a night. They've been doing deliveries at night and may close down the store itself earlier for counter service. Late at night, there's plenty of street parking so you can make a quick stop. I enjoyed the SIZE and taste of the ice cream sandwich. Your ice cream selection is minimal and typical, but it was still a great tasty experience! Also, the cookies are so soft and chewy that you'll want to buy more cookies to nibble on later. They sell their dough in cans on the counter for those who want to make your own at home. read more

Perfectly delicious ice cream sandwich! I ordered and ice cream sandwich and this wonderful woman loaded me up! She put that first scoop of ice cream on the cookie and I was thinking "looking good!" Then the second scoop was put on it. I was excited! Then she went for a third scoop, I about died. She doesn't hold back on the ice cream. Then, she knows her clients well "you need a spoon?" Well, I didn't think I did but looking at this monstrous ice cream sandwich, I probably need one. She was right. I needed that spoon. That ice cream sandwich was pure perfection. This place is located in Transfer Co Food Hall on E Davie st. We were looking for a good walk and some dessert after a great meal on Blount. Cookies and ice cream sounded like a good idea, so we headed down the road. They had 8 cookie flavors available (chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, ginger molasses, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, funfetti and a vegan/GF option). We tried the first 6 and got a cookies and cream milkshake to share. The milkshake was amazing, whole milk and homemade ice cream. The cookies, I was a little disappointed. The GM, SD and Oatmeal raisin were the best. The chocolate chip was too crunchy and had a strange flavor. The 2x chocolate chip had a strange flavor as well, almost like a greasy/salty overtone. The peanut butter had a good texture. Definitely a good spot for ice cream, we may try one of the ice cream sandwiches next time. read more

This is what the ball and chain wanted to do for breakfast. What are you gonna do??? Captain cookie to the rescue. Although the line was just one person, it took a while for two people to help her. It wasn't complex or a large order, they just do everything by hand and kind of slowly. We didn't get any flavors I wanted, so it should tell you something that I still liked what we got. We selected two different cookie flavors (who does that???), snickerdoodle and gingerbread. Then, on top of that, cookies and cream ice cream was available. So you know there was no escaping that choice. Now we've got a smorgasbord of flavors. And the ice cream cookie sandwich is huge! It fills a small plastic take-out container, the kind you would use for a deli sandwich to go. While I was mildly annoyed that the container was sticky on the outside (yeah, yeah, I get it that they are handling ice cream and it drips everywhere), I was impressed that the ice cream didn't melt into the container before we sat down to dig in. It was a several minute wait so this isn't nuthin'! And how was it? It was good. The outside of the cookies were harder, like cookies can be, so I waited until the gooey centers were exposed. There was a decent amount of center and the cookies were very flavorful. The ice cream was creamy and not icy. I had a few bites which is a lot for me, and speaks well to the ensemble. Would we go back? It's not my kind of thing to begin with, so I'm generally predisposed to "no," but I'd have to give it a solid "maybe" if we were already here for lunch in the future. read more

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 4 Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5 So excited to see a cookie shop on this end of Downtown Raleigh! Captain Cookie (CC) rocks! We stopped by one late Saturday night and I was surprise that they were still open. They are located inside of the Transfer Food Hall. The marketing and decor is super eye catchy so I was drawn. My wife and I grabbed two cookies to go. We skipped the ice cream because it was so cold outdoors. The cookies we purchased were amazing! I grabbed a snicker-doodle and a red velvet. The snicker-doodle was my fav. I spoke with one of the reps working the counter asking him what was his fav. He confirmed that his fav was the chocolate chip and Snicker-doodle. There was a young lady working that night as well, she stated that the Double chocolate chip was her favorite. The size of the cookie was great for the price. The service was perfect and the ambiance was cool. Parking isn't that big of a deal and the Transfer Co. is super cool. read more

Pretty delicious! I love that they bake all their cookies from scratch. They also have a great selection of cookies, I think they had at least eight different options from chocolate chip to funfetti. They live up to their Captain Cookie name. My husband went with an oatmeal raisin cookie and really enjoyed it just as is. I went with a cookie sandwich of snickerdoodle cookie, funfetti cookie, and strawberry ice cream. It was pretty delicious! This is going to sound odd but I wish the ice cream wasn't as cold. Since it was so cold/hard when you bit into it the ice cream just kind of squished out of the cookies and didn't stay in the sandwich. Most people in front of me just ordered ice cream in cones so I imagine that is why they keep their ice cream at such a sturdy temp. I'll be back, but might just stick with cookies and milk next time. read more

Pretty good cookies and ice cream! I got the ice cream sandwich (two birds, one stone amirite?) and both were yummy. However, when I think of an ice cream sandwich, I expect a sandwich I can hold in my hand and bite into. The version at Captain Cookie had WAY too much ice cream. They actually serve it in a container so the only way to possibly eat it was to take a spoon and have at it...not as enjoyable. Just look at my photo if you're curious what I mean. Also, the prices are a little high but if you're craving something sweet, I think Captain Cookie fits the bill. read more

We had captain cookie for the first time and it was an awesome experience! The guy working behind the counter was super friendly and even threw in a complimentary chocolate chip cookie. My ice cream sandwich consisted of snickerdoodle cookies and apple pie ice cream, while Ju chose double chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream for his. I wanted this to be the best cookie I've ever had in my life....but it was just okay. The guy was super friendly and it's a great concept. You can buy just cookies or have them made into an ice cream sandwich. My daughter tried the sprinkle cookie and my son had the chocolate chip turned into a sandwich with cookies and cream ice cream. I'm so happy we drove here to satisfy a family sweet tooth on a Saturday night. While the location is still operating under a soft opening, Captain Cookie has already settled in with a long (but quick) line. The cookies were great! I loved the fact that I could taste quality ingredients, including the chocolate. The ice cream wasn't overly sweet and paired perfectly with the cookies. Definitely worth the time and $:) read more

Alex's customer service was amazing! Never have I met someone who's so joyful even while serving through a Saturday Lunch Rush. We tried the funfetti cookie and chocolate chip cookie. Both were perfectly cooked and so soft/chewy in the center. This place is my favorite place at this food hall. read more

Not sure if we caught them on a bad day but first no one was at the counter. 10 minutes later a woman comes walking up from somewhere else in the bldg. 10 minutes of a completely unsecured store and personal items. The cookies look like they were just some left overs they were trying to get rid of. Very hard. And smashed into a container like they didn't have more. The jarred cookie dough was not good. After a couple days it tasted as if it was spoiled. We didn't know cookie dough could taste like that. Was a total waste of money. My family and I went there for dessert after our meal elsewhere. Never again. Trying something new this time didn't work out. Like I said maybe it was a off day because I've seen good reviews for them but we will never know. One and done. read more

The ice cream cookie sandwiches are delicious! Two huge cookies with a big scoop of ice cream in between is such a simple, yet awesome idea for a wonderful dessert. I had the special chocolate cookie of the day with coffee ice cream in between. The chocolate cookie had a fudge like consistency and spicy after taste similar to Mexican chocolate. It was a really decadent, nicely baked cookie. The coffee ice cream was a nice complement to the cookies. The ice cream wasn't anything special, but it wasn't bad and the scoop was big. Overall, the ice cream cookie sandwich was delicious and a nice dessert option at Transfer Food Hall. read more

The chocolate cookie lacked flavor and the ice cream was as good as generic store bought. For the price, an overall disappointment. This place is awesome. I've been a couple of times getting different combos of the ice cream cookie sandwich. All of them have been delicious and even though they're $6 they are really big. Service isn't the quickest sometimes if the staff are in the back room and aren't watching the register. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could for this reason. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Kirk and Juliann F.

Kirk has been baking cookies since age 4. After meeting at UNC, Kirk & Juliann moved to DC and began Captain Cookie as a food truck, roaming the streets and baking cookies right in the truck! We now have 3 stores and 3 trucks operating in DC and are delighted to finally come back home to Raleigh and open our first store in the Transfer Co. food hall! We make all our cookies from scratch using Kirk's recipes. Our milk & ice cream are local, from Homeland Creamery in Julian, NC.

We decided to get ice cream in waffle cone since we couldn't get the milkshakes. I got the Cookies N Cream in a waffle cone My wife got the Cotton Candy in a waffle cone. The cookies N Cream was good but, the waffle cone was not. The waffle cones are the "softer" ones, i was expecting the classic crunchy waffle cone. I just ate the ice cream with a spoon out of the cone. The cotton candy was not good. It tasted like sugar free ice cream. Same thing with the waffle cone as I previously wrote. The service was great! The ambiance was nice. Not sure if we would go back, our favorite ice cream shop is in Durham and I would prefer to drive 30Min to that place.
