Extremely disappointing experience with our Glendale Airbnb reservation…read more My family of six traveled from San Francisco to Los Angeles for my wedding. We had reserved a Glendale property for October 1-6 well in advance, and the host knew the purpose of our trip. Our confirmed check-in was 3:00 PM. The host gave us written permission to enter early at 2:30 PM and provided the door code. When we arrived, the property was not ready, beds and linens were unfinished, and there was no electricity. We immediately contacted the host and provided photos. We were then asked to leave and return at 4:00 PM. The host subsequently acknowledged in writing that there was a last-minute electrical problem. Around the time we were supposed to be checking in, the reservation was canceled, leaving six family members without accommodations after traveling from the Bay Area for my wedding. Unexpected maintenance problems can happen. What made this experience so upsetting was the timing and handling of the situation. We had already traveled hundreds of miles and had been specifically authorized to enter the property before discovering that it wasn't ready or operational. I have retained the Airbnb messages, reservation details and photographs documenting the entire timeline.
