I have tried several (several!) pizza places in the area after moving to Roselle Park/Union from Astoria, NY. This is the lone respectable pizza place in the area - and it's damn good. In an area that has nothing but Italian restaurants, you would think that more of them would make a decent slice of pizza, but it's been a frustrating search. Very thankful to have found Capri Pizza. I've had nothing but great experiences when ordering from Capri. The employees are always super nice. The pizza is always spot-on. A friend and I stopped in here after being at the VFW down the st for a cancer fundraiser. Our first option was Jimmy Buffs but it was closed. So we stumbled in here, starving from a night of drinking...it wasn't too late 10ish and they were about to close. We ordered the last 3 slices and ate them as quick as it was for you to read this sentence. Sign on the wall says "no eating at the counter" and there are no tables but since it was about to close we just stood at the counter eating our slices. This is the best pizza I have had in 15 years in NJ. Not sure what happened for the other folks who didn't review them highly, but I've had it several times and I've always been happy. I get the Deluxe that comes with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, mushrooms, anchovies and extra Cheese (I'm allergic to onions, so I don't' get them) for less than $20. Excellent thin crust and it's also great reheated a day or two later (which most pizzas are not!). There is no seating inside there, so it's either pickup or delivery. If you pick up, their store can only hold a few people at a time, so there may be a short wait - but I think it's worth it. My experience with delivery from them has been pretty fast. read more

If you're from Kenilworth, you're never further than 1/4 mile from a pizza place. That's probably not even an exaggeration. That being said, Capri is probably my least favorite spot in town. It was good when we I was younger, but the novelty of the strange building wore off quick for me. It's possible I just got a few bad slices the few times I've been back since so many people rave about the pizza but I usually go to Pizza Stop or Greco Roma instead. My friends and I stopped here for a quick lunch. All three of us got sandwiches. I got a salami and cheese with the works. Ingredients were fresh. Salami was spicy and the fresh bread had the perfect amount of vinegar added. Staff was friendly and down to earth. This place is a disgrace, the inside is cramped and there are no tables and is very dingy and dirty. The food is just awful, the pizza is just bland. The sauce taste like sugar and the cheese has the rubbery consistency of a cheap shoe. For 15 dollars I expect something better than watery ketchup on top of a cardboard like crust. You would enjoy eating the box the pizza came in than eating that hot hot garbage pie. I AM IN LOVE WITH THEIR PIZZAS!!! They can even make a plain and pepperoni pizza a masterpiece. I went with my friend once and we waited for a while watching TV for a while until our food was ready. It took about 15 minutes but that's how it becomes perfect! However, the hygiene isn't very well, but the reason for that is because they don't have enough money to invest. Their pizza is PERFECT, and their subs are equally as INCREDIBLE!!!! It is a true blessing for me that they are conveniently located right on the Boulevard in Kenilworth, only 5 minutes away from me, AND they also deliver too!!! Do not do delivery from here. Haven't received anything yet after an hour. When I called I was told that the delivery driver forgot a sandwich with our pizza, did other orders first and is now at a gas station filling up. They will pick up the sandwich after - all while our pizza is in their car. I then asked if they can do anything for this over hour wait (we were told 30 minutes btw), they said it happens all the time in their business. This service does not deserve a tip and their lack of empathy will make me go somewhere else moving forward. The worst chicken parm EVERRRRRRRR!!! I came in to this establishment thinking I would get at least a decent sandwich. All I can say is horrible, disgusting. The amount of quality meat, the cheese, and the bread are perfect, they also use Russian dressing on many of their subs which is the perfect sub condiment! Capri Pizza has some heavy pizzas. I really enjoy Capri Pizza but sometimes it is just too heavy. On a normal cheese pizza, they put on so much cheese. I am pretty sure they also sell slices of pizza, but there is nowhere to sit inside the pizzeria, so it would be a grab and go slice. read more

This place makes the best pizza in the area, we drive from Clark to pick it up and would drive further if we had too. The ingredients are always great quality and they do not skimp with the toppings at all, if you get a few pizzas with some extra toppings and go to grab them off the counter you can feel they are super heavy and when you open them up at home they are beautiful.
