Came here twice because of terrible luck with Rockville Centre salons. Came twice with my mother. The first time, the woman doing my nails didnt speak to me once but kept lifting my hands and showing another nail tech my nails. It was insulting for sure. The second time the woman was much nicer and did a better job on my gel manicure, but some nails have the gel lifting and its only been three or four days. My first gel mani there lasted just under two weeks. The place is gorgeous and sparkling clean, would give that a 5* rating but the service is too mediocre to justify $35 for a gel manicure with no frills. Neither my mother nor I received a shoulder massage while other women did while getting their nails done. They would do one person then go fold towels or stand around. This isn't a make or break for me (it is for my mother though!) but strengthens my point about the $35 being too high for a no-frills gel mani when you can get the same service for $25 elsewhere. This use to be my go to place in Oceanside and I definitely feel that the allure has died down and they are not as up to par with service as they used to be :/ First, everything is way overpriced! Yes they do a decent job and the big thing that attracted people is they have masseuses for when your getting both a mani and when your nails are drying. The past three times I went there tho this did not occur. I also bought my own polish once and realized I had forgotten it, I went back in 5 minutes later and the person who did my nails gave me a hard time about giving it back! I also got the french gel manicure which is the most expensive there than any of the other places I have seen and it chipped within a few days, not kewl. Don't EVER get your nails done with Sunny. I was just in there spent $80 total and got the WORST most disgusting powder done! I wish I could upload pictures. I don't ever even want to see that gym chewing bad excuse of a Manicurist ever again in my life. when I asked the owner to fix it because of how frustrating it is she wouldn't accommodate me for another 4 hours!!!!! This is so unbelievable. As if I have time to sit around and just wait because THEY DID A HORRIBLE JOB!!!!!! I have gone few times to Capri, I am happy for them that they are doing so well but I am not a fan of how busy they are. It does not always feel spa like because there is a man yelling numbers at the front. I will say that my gel manicure was good and girl was nice enough to put an extra coat on. I also enjoyed the free massage. I made the mistake of having a 10 minute add on massage in the chair and was not pleased with how rough the gentleman was. Overall the spa is pretty but noisy. The wait time is hit or miss and the "deli counter take a number system" is not very glam! I would return for a quick polish but will save my needed spa days for a trip to an actual spa. read more

I've been to Capri twice and after the first time I've been dying to come back and was not disappointed. I did gel both times. Yes. Capri is expensive. However the service is great, my nails were beautiful and this has to be the most sanitary place i've ever been. I love that they put a new cover on the tubs for each pedicure. I have been treated so well there and will absolute come back. To complain about wait times to me isn't fair because you could just make an appointment like I did and be fine. In fact I came with 2 others and they accommodated our request to sit together. This may not necessarily be your weekly nail salon due to the prices but it is HIGHLY recommended. read more

Worst nail salon on the south shore. They don't sterilize their tools, they don't clean their pedicure tubs properly. I developed a terrible infection under my nail from getting my nails done here. My mother and I went today to have manicures, easily the worst we both had. It was like a mill. Both women who did our nails took no time with either of us, the paint job was sloppy, the tools were not sanitary (my mother's manicurist dropped the cuticle cutter on the floor, didn't re-sanitize it, mine did not take the one she tried to use out of any kind of bag), my nails were cut unevenly to the point they dipped in the center and had jagged edges. Needless to say we will not be returning. I went here long ago and gave it another shot, but will be continuing with a place that takes their time and has more concern for the health of their clientele. read more

The salon itself is very nice inside, but other than that I would not recommend it. I used to be a regular here but stopped going because it is so expensive ($30 for a basic mani/pedi). Every time I've had the same issue, I pick a polish (which I always try out on my nail first) and when I leave I realize it's a completely different shade than I thought. The lighting in there is absolutely terrible. They used to put paraffin wax on your heals and hands and use hot stones on your feet during the massage. They no longer do any of this but the price is still the same. They get very impatient if you take more than a minute to pick your color and then they rush through the mani/pedi. They cut the nail and run the file over it back and forth and then move on. No care whatsoever to the nails being even and they don't run the file on the side of the nail at all. Polish is done extremely sloppy and it ends up all over your skin. This place is a factory. The owner/manager (I don't know which she is) walks around staring at the women and the women do not talk to each other at all. I got the feeling this was not a good working environment for them. Other salons I've been to the women laugh, chat and obviously get along. Not here. I never see anyone talk to each other or smile for that matter. This alone bothers me. I don't want to give my money to people that treat their employees poorly. And as someone else said the massages seem random. Some people get them, some don't. The man that does them, who was dressed in scrubs, so weird, was leaning against the wall and seemed to be sleeping while I was there. I used to go to this nail salon every two weeks before Covid and the staff were amazing... I had the most beautiful powder gel manicures. I also would get a pedicure before hand and always paid for a 10 or 15 minute massage... I have spent a lot of money at this salon..... however Covid happened and then I took a break .. I go in yesterday it was my first time back. I brought my daughter for a manicure pedicure, just a regular manicure no gel or anything... it was a Monday... My daughter also got a regular child Mani pedi. I'm not sure if it's just what I'm used to but I have never been charged $45 for one Mani pedi. And then my daughter was charged $25... I've been getting my nails done for about 20 years now and Monday through Wednesday typically salons will charge $22-$25 for a mani pedi. OK fine it's post coronavirus businesses are struggling I understand it but the best part of this that really got me was Not only was the employee rushing herself but it is not even 24 hours after my appointment and all 10 of my nails have chipped! If you're gonna charge me that much money for my nails done they better last longer than 18 hours and I also better have good service which means not rushing me! They didn't even rub my back at the end like since when did they stop doing back rubs when you were drying your nails? This place is more of a factory than a nail salon/spa. The moment I walk in there's a machine that gives you a number like a deli counter. Luckily there was no wait. The lady was standing next to me as I was indecisive about which color to pick. She was trying to rush me. You can tell the lady was rushing my mani. She offered me a paraffin treatment and kept my hands in wax for 5 minutes while she snuck away to do a girls eyebrows. I ended up taking the wax off myself. Unfortunately I will not be returning to Capri. When I first moved to the area I wanted to find my "regular" place. I always felt it was clean, professional, and fair priced. Recently I went and asked for a gel manicure. My manicurist decided the acrylic gel was better snd started to put that on me, not realizing that's what it was. 3 weeks later I returned (today) to get them soaked off and just get a regular manicure pedicure. We both noticed they were not soaked enough, but she decided to start filing it down which was fine. She then became impatient and started to pry between the acrylic and my nail with a cut MTA subway card. Not a tool, an subway metro card that was in her drawer. She ended up ripping a top layer and the end of my nail off. That's when I told her to stop, let them soak and she was ripping my actual nails. My real nails were completely flaked. They are thin and honestly destroyed. She also did not completely remove the acrylic on both of my thumbs and a pinky and said she could not do anything about it. At that point after 2 hours I just wanted to go home. I tipped her, left, and will never ever go back. read more

I needed a VERY quick manicure between work appointments and I was pretty satisfied with the service. Monaca did my nails and I have to say she is one of the few people that knew how to apply the color perfectly. Ive been to many places where I find the color come out uneven or even blotchy. No matter where I go, I dont really get anything special (gel, spa pedi, etc) and find that some places arent as courteous and attentive, maybe because I dont get the more costly treatments, but she didnt make me feel uncomfortable or rushed despite the fact I was pressed for time. Its a large space, with plenty of chairs, nice decor, nice environment. A quick shoulder massage while drying my nails was a plus (no charge, just tip.) While I dont live in the area, I'll likely make a return trip when I can. read more

I am a long time customer of Capri and normally have a good experience. However, when I went today, the woman at the front desk was so rude to me. After having trouble removing my gel manicure, I asked the woman nicely if she would mind waiving the $5 fee for removing gel manicures, to which she replied that it was not her fault so why would she do that? Forty five minutes later, the nice woman doing my nails finally finished getting the gel manicure off. However, the rude demeanor of the woman working at the front desk ruined my experience. I have lived in Oceanside since 2006 and have tried at least 8 nail salons in the area. This one is the BEST!! Amy will always answer the phone so pleasantly! Kathy and Sunny are my go-to regular manicurists. They are a full service salon- pedicures, eyelashes, waxing.....The whole staff is so sweet and always accommodating! So happy I found this place, Kara did my gel manicure and it came out absolutely perfect. I see a lot of bad reviews on here about people feeling rushed or waiting longer than expected. I had zero wait and an excellent service today. FYI if you go anywhere at peak hours, nail salon, a restaurant, hair salon, workers only have 2 hands and believe it or not but you're not the most important person in the room although you may believe so very pleased with the clean, professional, friendly, salon and I will definitely be returning. Used to love this place, was a loyal customer. Today will be my last time ever going in. I had a broken nail that I asked them to fix, it was half way broken and I was hoping they could glue it until the break grew out. The woman ended up ripping my nail and exposing my nail bed because she was so rough. Never apologized. They had someone put a silk wrap on it and that sort of worked. She proceeds to paint my nails without asking if I like the color (which is always kind of different from the sample when you get a gel manicure) and before I could even realize that I would've asked for something else, she was almost done painting my nails. Now I hate the color, and this silk wrap was really poorly done. Plus! They just raised their prices. $45 for a manicure I don't even like. Twice I've come here, once for an acrylic refill and the second for a mani & pedi The first time I stopped by was only because my mother was next door getting a massage for Mother's Day. The place looks great on the inside very clean and relaxing. I had high hopes. However their " take a number " waiting is very disorganized. They seem very confused themselves on which person has been waiting first... I got my color and proceeded for the refill. I liked that the Tv's kept me occupied. However the end result was a nice color but kinda messy. The blue was on my cuticles and the lady didn't bother to clean the edges with some acetone. My go-to-place in Baldwin would never leave my nails that messy. The second time, again disorganization with the " take a number" I had someone go ahead of me because the lady just asked people's number and she heard only 1 person respond quickly so she pulled her to start on her nails without even hearing everyone else's response. I pointed out I had been there first and she sent me to sit for my pedi. Ok, whatever. The pedi was fine, nice exfoliation on the legs they wrap around with plastic wrap. It was fairly relaxing The pedi was better than my go-to-place in Baldwin I'll admit Next came my nails. I had an Essie color in a pastel green. Before she applied color I paid but decided to leave the tip just before leaving. Maybe because she thought I wouldn't tip she didn't bother to properly color my nails cuz when I looked at them after drying I noticed the color was poorly distributed across my nails,.. I'm sure I could have done a better job myself at home and almost wish I had instead of spending $29 just on a fairly good pedi and a half-ass mani ( and even then... I still tipped ) I wonder if I had tipped her before hand would she have distributed my color better ...? So twice now I've had messed up mani's at this place. I won't return for that. I've been going here for years, they used to be amazing but at this point they clearly only care about getting customers in and charging outrageous prices for services that don't equal up. Their pedicures are the worst so I rarely ever go for that and will actually travel to another salon. The guys who did massages were great but now they rarely come around. They've been building their business so fast that they've started throwing out nail techs with no experience. I've had this happen on more than one occasion. On my last visit the nail tech was finishing up another client while I was waiting and put uv gel clear polish on her regular manicure the manager had to come over ... Re-educate her and then she had to start over. At this point I knew my fill in was doomed and when I asked she said this was her second week. She overcharged me, I spent $50 on a uv gel wrap with gel color that started chipping and breaking less than 2 days later. My nails were different lengths & shapes from one hand to the next and I found out I was deceived about the price. Like, I could have potentially hurt someone sharp. And then, after all that, my manicure chipped in a day. The group waiver sign that was hanging up for "Bridezillas" shooting in spring 2011 when I went in fall 2012 should have been my first and last clue. Your enthusiasm for a reality show shooting in your store a year ago should not surmount your customer reviews. Should have known this was not the place for me when all they had on the TV's was CNN I'm sorry but when I'm relaxing getting a mani/pedi I don't want to listen to the news. Anyways, they have your typical display of nail polish colors and the staff was friendly enough however here's where it takes a turn for me: the color I choose apparently had an additional $5 fee to use (supposedly it was a gel polish however the nail polish chipped off the next day). In addition to that fee I was charged another fee for quick dry which I never asked for. Oh well minor misunderstanding but here is why I will not come back a lady came in and asked for the paraffin wax treatment in which she was carrying her dog; she put he dog in a chair and they immediately starting dipping her hands in the wax instead of washing them first .... there was a sink nearby ewwww. For those looking for a luxurious spa experience, this is not the place. However, for your regular trip to get a mani/pedi it's great! Yes it can be busy but if you can't wait ten minutes then make an appointment. My manicure lasts about a week and pedicure lasts 3-4 weeks, but this tends to be my average wherever I go. You get a massage during your manicure or while you're drying your nails. It's wonderful! read more

So I went to get a gel mani and regular pedi. I ended up here simply out of convenience but that was a terrible idea. The woman who did my pedicure was wonderful but then when it came to my manicure I was switched to a guy (which I understand because of licensing and all that) who was incredibly rude. The manicure itself was rushed and subpar and then while I was paying and tipping he even mentioned that I should get more money from their atm! What an instant turnoff... Their prices are much higher than most other places in the area while their services are normal at best. I'll never be returning. She responded by accusing me of LYING that I got my nails done there!!! I then asked for the manager and the woman speaking to me told me she WAS the manager - i know this is not true. I cannot believe how unprofessional these people are and I will NEVER come here again! Not to mention, I am starting to get fungus on my nails and My dermatologist says its from the lack of hygiene they practice! Dont go to this horribly unethical and disloyal salon. I really enjoy coming here. I've been coming here over 8 years now. I just decided to write a review after i visited another salon closer to home & realized how much Capri goes the extra mile. I always make an appointment and never have to wait when I arrive. I am always greeted by my name & feel that they appreciate my business. They have several men that give the patrons free massage while they are getting their manicures and/or while sitting at the drying stations. It was not offered at the salon I went to closer to home & it is one of the things that will keep me coming back to Capri. It's worth the extra few miles to drive here. I moved from the area a few years ago. I came back for a family function this week. I was looking for a salon with a Mon-Wed mani-pedi deal. I'm sure I could have found one if I had the time to research. I used to come to Capri years ago and always loved the ambiance. I walked in today Monday at around 11 & there was no wait. They were not using the number system today but I always thought it worked fine. I was disappointed in their OPI color choices but found an Essie pink color I loved. There are some racks of colors marked with higher prices. I'm not sure what that was about. The regular pedi was great, the mani was ok. The same guy did both, which I liked. He was very good, understood what I asked and I was happy with the service. I thought the place was clean and there very relaxing music playing. There are a few TVs with entertainment news, weather and fun Hollywood facts. There were no very children in the salon today. So I have not witnessed how the staff would have handled an unruly child. The two things that I was unhappy about was that the guys that used to walk around and give short back massages were not around at all. The worst thing is that they have a different price for cash and credit!!! I have never seen that before. This was Very strange to me. I may not go back here only because of that. read more
