Stumbled upon this place as we were walking by headed to another pizza place - so glad we stopped here...by far some of the best pizza I've had. You can't order by the slice only by the pie but they are small 10" so no problem for 2 people. We got cheese pizza ...AMAZING!! Then we topped it off with a cannoli yum!!! I've been been waiting for over 10 years for the arrival of a GREAT pizza place in my Hell's Kitchen neighborhood -- the kinda place you find easily downtown. Two Boots and Lazzara arrived not too long ago, but they quickly joined the ranks of the boring and/or overpriced... Oh my goodness and oh my gracious. This place far exceeded my expectations. Yes, I'm from Texas. So no, I don't have a wide experience with NYC pizza. But you know what? I do have experience shoving food into my mouth-hole and my taste buds work great and I could barely come up for air as fast as a was shoveling it in. Thin crust, wood-fired pizza with thick pepperoni. Arrgh. So good. Right across the street from the Port Authority seems an unlikely location for a romantic, charming eatery, but it works. And although I look forward to trying a cheap walk-up, sell-it-by-the-slice place, I really appreciated a nice quiet sit-down lunch after traipsing around downtown all day. Value-wise, it's a bit on the pricey. $16.95 for a 3-topping pizza: pepperoni, anchovy, and onion. Once I added in drink, tax, and tip, it's more than what I was expecting. Stumbled into this place after seeing their reviews on Yelp and being stranded over near the Port Authority. I generally have the attitude that all food in the HK area is inferior, but it turns out that's not true. Both the decor and food make this feel much more like a West Village pizza shoppe than something tucked behind PABT. Service is fine...no nonsense and relatively informal. Pizza is excellent. The pizza was really good, and it came out fast (which was good because we were running late to our show). My sister and i came here since we were seeing a show in the area. You definitely wouldnt notice it if you werent looking for it. I wouldnt recommend sitting near the window because people like to look right in on you. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were very attentive. Also very polite.We ordered the loaded pizza. Very thin crust with lots of fresh toppings. Its a decent size for a normal size person but the two of us are small so we shared it. Unfortunately they didnt tell us the card machine wasnt working until after we were done. Good thing my sister carries cash i wouldve had to find an atm. read more

This eatery has character and authenticity; the décor is welcoming, and the service very friendly. The thin-crust pizzas are very good, with traditional Italian toppings (I chose the artichoke, tomatoes and pecorino romano - delicious); nice choice of wines. Went here tonight. Service started off very slow - didn't realise you could seat yourself and then waited nearly 10 minutes for any kind of menu. Once I got the menu though I then ordered within a couple of minutes and my wine arrived very quickly and the pizza followed in less than 5 minutes. It was delicious. Very thick, almost sweet and spicy pepperoni but I liked it. Less oily than some pepperoni pizzas. Give it a try. read more

Disappointing, and I'm guessing the 5 star reviews are from the Broadway crowd tourists. Waiter was exceptionally brisk to us and borderline hostile to the table next to us. Examples: snatched my menu away before I was even able to order my wine (he literally PULLED it away while I was still reading), requiring my boyfriend to chase after him to put our drink orders in, he set down our drinks/ wine loudly on the table - sloshing the drinks around. The pizza? Listen - you're better off getting 2Bros across the road. The Margherita was really lacking in cheese and tomato (tasted like dry bread). It's New York. We're New Yorkers. We don't settle for this level of quality - neither should you. (3 stars for the cute decor and the Italian guy throwing the pizza dough into the air). read more

I needed a place between the Javits Center and my work to meet a friend for lunch and found Capizzi through Yelp. It was surprisingly delightful! The place was empty when we got there and it has a very cute decor, with peppers hanging and such. Then the waitress greeted us and explained that they actually used the ingredients we see hanging everywhere because they make their own, well everything! And most of it is flown in from Italy! She was super sweet and helpful telling us about the food, the restaurant and really added to the experience. The pie itself was delicious and you could taste the freshness. I definitely will be dining here again and recommend it to others. read more

This is the best pizza in Hells Kitchen. It has that perfect slightly blackened crispy and chewy crust, they use fresh mozzarella cheese and it has delicious tomato sauce. Came here with a friend who lives in Hell's Kitchen and recommended it as the best pizza one can eat in NYC. Perhaps I was pizza-ed out from all the intoxicated late night pie snacking, but for the sake of the city, I hope he was wrong. I mean, yeah it was good and I enjoyed their homemade pepper seasoning, but definitely not the best pizza I've had. I did enjoy the chewy thin crust and the round wooden plates they provided with fork and knife even though I'm really a hands on pizza eater. I don't know, I guess I'm just a little disappointed because it didn't live up to the hype.
