Their operating hours are TERRIBLE and they do NOT even follow them which is un respectful with their customers. I left work early to be there before they say they close (5:00 pm) to pick up my clothes any they were already closed at 4:45pm. Extremely FRUSTRATING! read more

This will also ways and forever be the team that gets my business when it comes time for dry cleaning, tailoring or anything in between.

Amazing customer service!!!! I found this cleaners thru my apt complex since Capitol Valet provides us with a delivery service. They are trustworthy, precise, get the job done, and have a good turn around time. Last week I had dropped off a suit jacket for sleeve hemming and 2 dress pants for hemming and I was supposed to pick them up the day before I was flying out to AZ. I totally forgot to pick up my garments! After I emailed Capitol Valet to explain that I won't be able to pick up my garments bc I was out of town for 2 months, the staff was able to accommodate me ASAP. They shipped out my garments all the way to the other side of the county via fed ex and I had my clothes with me a few days later! Thanks Eddie, her boss, & Capitol Valet! read more

Open til 5:00 but often close early. I get home about 4:30 and the door is often locked by the time I get there.

Capitol Valet is the company that delivers/picks up directly to my condo building, which is super convenient. I've used them for a couple years now and have to give a low review due to their terrible customer service. They recently lost one of my pencil skirts. They charged me for they dry cleaning but did not return the garment. I emailed twice, called about five times and left voicemails, and even went in person. They did not respond or provide any information about the missing skirt. After I disputed the charge with my credit card company (because I did not receive the service I was charged for), Chelsea responded via email apologizing for the delay and saying she would follow up. That was almost two months ago on October 15, 2019, and she never followed up. I kind of just gave up because it was just taking up too much time and causing too much frustration to continue following up with them. The thing is, losing the skirt isn't even a big deal to me. I just wanted Capitol Valet to look into it and be communicative with me. If they couldn't find it, I wanted them to let me know, maybe apologize, and refund the charge. That seems like customer service 101 to me. Instead, they did not respond to emails, answer my calls, or communicate with me at all. Their horrible customer service has really made me think twice about continuing to use them, even though it's incredibly convenient for my building. I would caution others to be weary sending expensive or unique items to Captiol Valet because they may lose your item and then refuse to respond to you when you ask about it. Really just a very frustrating experience all around. read more

I switched from Prime Cleaners to Capitol Valet, both of whom service my building with regular delivery. CV's service has been fantastic from day one, but a recent experience compelled me to write this review. I had a big job interview on Monday, but of course I'm forgetful and didn't drop off my clothes until Friday afternoon (which they picked up Saturday). I called Chelsea with my dilemma, and even though they don't operate on Sunday, she made sure someone dropped off my clothes on Sunday afternoon! The best part was that she was happy to do it. No attitude, no guilting, no "I'm sorry, sir, but..." You can tell that going above and beyond for her customers is just simply how Chelsea does business. People like that deserve your business. They've got mine for sure. read more

Found them on Yelp and was happy to use them to clean my wedding gown two days after the wedding. They were very friendly and helpful, quoted me a decent price (though, apparently, it should have cost more than what the woman quoted me according to the cleaner; she did not charge me for more than the quote). I only wanted my gown cleaned, not preserved, since I planned on selling my gown to another bride and those preservatives can be nasty on your skin! The only strange thing to me was that they literally ONLY do delivery. There is no longer a bricks and mortar store where you can drop things off. This was slightly difficult because for obvious reasons I didn't really want to leave my wedding gown outside my apartment and exposed to the elements until they could pick it up and then drop it off back home. That said, they were prompt at retrieving and delivering the dress at the time they said they would be there. They accept credit cards and will charge you after your garment is returned to you. They do not charge for delivery. read more

Never open when they say they are. The posted hours online are completely inaccurate. I've been unable to collect a suit I left with them for two days now. I checked an hour before closing yesterday, and they were closed. I checked an hour and a half after opening today, and they were closed. read more

I had an small problem with Capitol Valet when some things went missing, and you really know the caliber of a company based on how they handle problems. The plant manager tracked down my missing clothing, stayed in contact with me about the status and asked me to meet for coffee to apologize for the glitch. He gave me an education on dry cleaning and his company. They do some things that really matter to me: take care of the environment, give back to the community and share profits with my building. I'm lucky to have Capitol Valet in my building! Thanks, Moon, for taking care of my clothes as if they were your own. read more

I've been using these guys for years and I've always been pleased. The quality is consistently good. I've used them for dry cleaning and tailoring and recommend them for both. read more

EXCELLENT services. My suits and shirts always come back in perfect condition, pressed and ready to go. I've even been skeptical about sending in ties to dry cleaners in worry that they may press and ruin them, but Capitol Valet sends them back in perfect condition. They also have some of the best repairs you could imagine. I had a very expensive pair of suit pants that tore beyond what I thought was possible for repair, and they came back to me like brand new. Thank you very much Capitol Valet, 10/10 would STRONGLY recommend for the care of your clothing, and this is coming from someone that is VERY picky. They've got my business! read more

Excellent customer service and extremely convenient! I text when ready for pickup and can buzz them in for pickup and delivery from on my cell phone from work. Very quick turnaround and reasonably priced. A+++ read more

I've been using the delivery service since Oct 2015. it's a far cry from Presto Valet in Alexandria Va. I have very expensive clothing, some 100% silk. I've been noticing frayed edges, lack of stain removal and overall rough pressing of garments returned. Like they were slammed through. Some garments lost their original fabric texture. They need to work on handling expensive clothing with more delicate care. As I notice more garments I sent in that have come back with damage/fabric weakness, I'm hesitant to keep sending in garments to be cleaned for 100.00 + bill. The delivery service is nice. They're tricky with what they charge though. Didn't know pajamas were a 2 piece suit. And if you want a garment altered or repaired, if you don't put a note not to clean, they will automatically do it and charge. You may want to think twice before giving them delicate garments to clean. read more

I've been using these guys for the past two months since moving here. Firstly, the customer service headed by Chelsea is spectacular! They are super responsive and accommodating, even when it comes to dry cleaning for short notice travel. Secondly, the quality of the dry cleaning is outstanding. Shirts, jackets always come back looking crisp. Finally, the prices are extremely reasonable considering the service. All in all, what more could you ask for in dry cleaning. Highly recommend them. read more

My wife and I are very happy with Capitol Valet. We've used them for a year and never had any issues. Chelsea is great to work with and very communicative. They are convenient as ever - they pick up our dry cleaning from our apartment and it's back by day 3. Highly recommend Capitol Valet and Chelsea's team. read more

I am a huge fan of Capitol Valet! I have been using this dry cleaning and laundry service since early 2011. The pickup and delivery is a dream, for the same price as our neighborhood cleaners the clothes are picked up and delivered usually within three days. From laundering shirts and dry cleaning tuxedo's to repairing my winter coat - what a pleasure. We have never lost a piece of clothing and the one time it didn't work out just right, they were more than happy to make it right for us. Thanks Chelsea! read more

YES!!!!!!! They are truly awesome! My building referred me to their services and let's just say my jackets are ON POINT! Skirts are nice and wrinkle free and my suit......watch out!!! I just found a gem.....whose excited I am! read more

Friendly, fair price, free delivery, excellent quality. Oh and Chelsea is super nice. I've tried 5 or so different cleaners in Columbia Heights and they are by far the best deal. Ill stay with them as long as I live here. read more

Convenient location, but they never respond to emails or voicemails. They also recently lost one of my favorite tops. I have used them for months and can honestly say I would not recommend going there. read more

One of the best dry cleaning services I have ever experienced. My custom suits always come back in pristine condition and usually by the next business day!! Keep up the great work!! read more

Please be prepared to have your clothes ruined.. They press the shirts too hard, pressed on top of buttons (all buttons on shirt ruined), and removed the size tag on the shirt... For what reason? Not sure. I had previously taken some chinos before as well, they came out faded. Almost as if they had thrown them in the washing machine.. Avoid avoid avoid! read more

Capitol Valet - Buttons ruined. They press shirts too hard. - Shoe Repair Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Great service, I've been using them for at least 5 years. Send an email, and they'll pick-up your stuff. Shows back up clean a couple days later. You get a bill emailed to you and pay through PayPal. Easy as that. Never had a problem that wasn't resolved 100% -- Chelsea is extremely responsive. I moved to a new building about a year ago, tried another service and came back to Capitol Valet after two pick-ups. read more

Through a pickup service at my apartment, I've used Capitol Valet for the past 6 months. The dry cleaning is great and efficient, and they do a good job. When I heard they also did shoe repair, I sent them a pair of expensive Alden shoes that had a hole in the sole. The cost was $70, so it wasn't inexpensive. They sent them back within a few weeks with rubberized soles and new rubberized heels. Visually, they didn't look great, but they looked to be ready for use. In about two months, however, the heel was peeling off. I took them to a cobbler near my office who explained the heel was extremely poor quality, and then peeled back the rubberized sole (which was also slightly loose near the toe) to reveal that all Capitol Valet on that part of the shoe was to take a thin rubber piece and glue it over the old leather sole! The HOLE IN THE LEATHER PART OF THE SOLE WAS STILL THERE!! It was just obscured by the thin rubber covering! So for my $70, they glued a couple of rubber heels and two thin strips of rubberized sole coverings to conceal the hole in my shoes. I'm not sure if Capitol Valet does their own shoe repair or if they send them out to be done, but the quality of that part of their business is TERRIBLE. While I'd be fine in recommending their dry cleaning, I would strongly warn anyone against ever using them for shoe repair. read more

I was referred to Capitol Valet by building management and had clothing picked up over three weeks ago. CV called to confirm my address and get billing information, but has yet to return my clothing. I have left two messages and they have not returned my phone call. Even if I happen to get my clothing back, I will not be using their services in the future, read more

I signed up for Capitol Valet for the first time and had pricing questions, special care instructions, and questions about their process. I had indicated on the ticket that I should be receiving a discount. I did not have their contact number and figured they would contact me before doing the work since I was a new customer and did not have payment information on file. Unfortunately, they did the work without talking to me first and did not do it the way I needed it. I tried to talk to Chelsea about it, but she proceeded to lecture me about how the service works, was constantly interrupting me, and unfortunately, offered no solution to the problem. I'll be using Soapy Joe's instead, especially since their prices are lower. read more

Great service! They turned my dry cleaning around within a week. They pay close attention to detail and fan my shirt sleeves just the way I like them. Their service is so convenient, you forget you have laundry at your front desk ready for pick up. read more

These guys are great. Free pickup / delivery and they are substantially cheaper than other places, including the so-called discount services such as Soapy Joe's. With a credit card on file, you send an email in the AM, they pickup and return within 3 days. Good work and they don't tangle your clothes in plastic wrap. read more

DONT TAKE YOUR DRY CLEANING HERE! These people have no idea how to treat your good clothes. They hard pressed all of the silk pants and blouses I took in. Any experienced dry cleaners knows you steam silk and don't hard press it. I asked them to redo it and got it back exactly the same as the time before! Also, a new silk top was missing and no one responded to my request to speak to the owner about it. The people don't speak English well, and they laughed when I was upset at their losing my blouse. It's a joke, not a professional dry cleaner. read more

Really convenient - free pickup and delivery - plus Chelsea is super nice. She is very accessible so it's easy to get personal service, requests, etc. I started using them at View 14 and then continued now that I've moved to the DuPont area. The prices are very reasonable, especially with the convenience factor. read more

Avoid these guys like the plague! I was foolish enough to use their service twice. The first go around they lost part of my order and charged me for dry cleaning even though I only asked for laundry service. The second time my order was lost completely. Chelsea is slow to respond, if at all, and customer service is horrible! Run away! read more

No charge for delivery? And excellent cleaning and service. Chelsea is fantastic.

Capitol Valet is a best in class dry cleaning & laundry service. After routinely being disappointed by DC cleaners Capitol Valet actually manages to exceed my expectations. No charge for pickup and delivery with several day turn around. Reasonable pricing and convenient auto pay by credit card. I have used them primarily for men's suits, dress shirts and pants. Highly recommended. read more

We used to love Capitol Valet, but lately they've been returning items that are not pressed (i.e. still wrinkled) and covered in lint that did not come from any of the items we submitted, so we've had to re-press and clean the items ourselves. Although we like the pick-up and delivery service, its worth it to forego that convenience in order to get the service we pay for. Incidentally, I work in the organic industry, and happen to know for a fact that organic dry cleaners are not regulated. Although Capitol Valet claims to be organic, there's no way to ensure that the chemicals they're using are in fact approved for organic use, or if their claims are even valid. read more

Not Happy about the quality at all. Buttons of my shirts were destroyed and quality of ironing is just terrible. I do not understand the good reviews... Will no longer use them. read more

I have been using the pick-up/drop-off dry cleaning services of Capitol Valet for many years. First from my home in NW Washington and now in SW Washington. The customer service is stellar - second to none. I email when I have a pick-up and they are always there that day or early the next. And the clothing is always delivered back exactly when promised. Never more than three days, often in just two days. The dry cleaning is always impeccable. I have never had a complaint for the way it is cleaned. They have never lost an article of clothing. Chelsea Sousa is my contact. She is outstanding and makes sure everything is taken care of as promised. The prices are very reasonable. I do not pay more than I would if I dropped off and picked up the dry cleaning myself. Pick-up/Drop-off dry cleaning is one of those things that makes life so much easier and if you have not tried it yet I would recommend you do - and use Capitol Valet. You won't regret it! read more
