Do not use this dry cleaners. They will mess up your clothes and don't actually dry clean. They blame everything on the customer and don't take any accountability. Horrible customer service and the lady who works there is extremely rude. read more

If it were possible to give 6 stars, I'd do it! After bouncing around different dry cleaners on U Street, Georgetown Valet fast became my go-to spot. Affordable service and say day turnaround helps set them apart, but it's their staff that really makes them special. Always attentive and nice, the staff have always taken care of me. Just today, Lili (a total rock star) bailed me out and offered to deliver my clothes to my condo outside of business hours because I'm stuck at work. I offered to pay her extra and she refused saying that she's happy to help me out. That's not a normal service offered, and Lili's willingness to the extra mile (literally) saved my weekend. I have used Georgetown valet for a bit of time now. This morning, I went to pick up my dry cleaning at 7:30, when they stated they would open, and waited for abou 20 minutes with another fellow before walking to go back to work. It's about 30 degrees, so it was a very cold wait, and I did not end up with my clothes. Otherwise, I have had no issues. When they are in, they have great service read more

I used this place for a while and liked them; they were pleasant and didn't seem much more expensive than other area dry cleaners. But then they gave my boyfriend someone else's shirt instead of his own and made no offer to rectify the situation. I was the one who brought the wrong shirt in and explained that it wasn't his brand or his measurements, and they said that because there wasn't a yellow tag on the shirt, they had no real way to locate the one it'd been switched with. I left the shirt with them since there's no point in keeping a shirt that doesn't fit, and hoped they would try to make it right. His shirt, by the way, was Brooks Brothers ($80+) and the one we'd been given was a brand I'd never heard of before, but whose quality did not look great. When I visited the store again to collect the last bit of his dry cleaning, they said they hadn't made any progress on finding his shirt but they had a customer who always brought in those Brand X shirts, and they were going to ask him if he'd gotten my boyfriend's. Then they CHARGED ME to pick up the last remaining shirt I had with them. Granted, the price for dress shirts is pretty negligible, but at this point they'd not offered any reparations at all for having lost an expensive shirt. So, I pay to pick up someone else's dry cleaning, can't get my own back, and no discount or proper apology is offered for the mistake? They can't even comp me back the $3 it cost for me to pick up some other guy's dry cleaning in the first place? My theory is Brand X guy just kept my boyfriend's shirt, which was only a little larger than his own, because it was nicer and still wearable. I understand how easy it is to mix up two basic white men's dress shirts, but to barely act apologetic and make no gesture to try to address the problem to make it right? They basically just said "sorry, we can't do anything" and then didn't even offer a discount or compensation. There are a lot of dry cleaners in the area, so I'm not going to use one who doesn't take their responsibility seriously. I shudder to think what would happen if I continued to take them some of my nicer items (expensive, designer stuff that cannot be replaced and is a lot more than $80!) and they were ever mixed up or lost. I would not recommend using this place at all, but particularly not for items that are expensive or have any sentimental value. read more

Awful Experience. I had an Ella Moss jacket dry cleaned that had suede on the vest part. It was $35, which is a lot and they did a terrible job. It came back with a hole in the stitching on the side and gunk on the front of the jacket. Not acceptable for any price, let alone a hefty one. Also, I got a silk shirt dry cleaned that came back with a stain. I will be taking these items back and hopefully they will be fixed without an additional fee read more

I don't get clothes dry cleaned very often but I needed a suit cleaned. They did a great job and it was ready on-time. They even told me that they can do same day cleaning at no extra charge as long as you get it in by 9am. Pretty good! However the reason I'm giving it 5 stars is because I had a shirt where the collar was permanently wrinkled. It had something to do with how the fabric under the top layer was bunching up. I brought it into Georgetown Valet and they said that dry cleaning wouldn't help, but it could be ironed out. Since they weren't busy, they fixed it for me and explained how to do it in the future (how long, how hot the iron should be, etc) free of charge. I was all set to get rid of the shirt but now I can still wear it! read more

I've been looking for a dry cleaning place/tailor in DC, and I think I found it. I needed a dress altered with a pretty quick turnaround, and they got the job done. I called ahead of time to make sure they could get it done in time, and the lady (who was very friendly) told me to come in as soon as possible so she could pin the dress for me. I did, and I was told it would be ready the next day. She called me later that same day saying my dress was ready, and asked if I wanted it to be pressed. Since I didn't need the dress that day, I said yes. Professional, friendly, quick, and great at what they do. Highly recommend! read more

Recently moved to U street and went here for the first time to launder some shirts. I'm a sweaty person and I leave collar stains on my shirts. I've never had any issues with any other dry cleaners removing the stains but this place didn't even dent the stains. I would understand if there was a hint (they are very faint to begin with) but it was like they dropped it in perfume water and ironed it. They also took 3 days to finish! They refunded the money after I complained but if I didn't they would have ripped me off. Talk about moral ethics and customer service. They were very rude even though I was very polite throughout... Don't go here! There are plenty of dry cleaners nearby. read more

If you go, make sure the proprietor counts your items in front of you and you agree to the number, because she's really, really bad at counting, and you risk losing your things as a result. It's too bad, because I'd been using this location for a couple transactions with no trouble until the following incident: Last time I visited, I told her how many suits I was dropping off, and she wrote me a receipt for it. She also asked for my phone number and name, then asked me about picking up some other items that weren't mine. That should've been a sign that she wasn't good at keeping track of customers' items. A few minutes later, she called me back and said the number I gave her was wrong. She gave me a second number that was much lower. We had an argument. I returned to recover my items. The number of items was HIGHER than what she told me over the phone, but lower than what it said on the receipt and what I remember dropping off. In short, either use a different place, or get an ironclad count from her right there on the spot. (She even called the cops over this exchange -- just on the dispute over the numbers of items dropped off, nothing else. The cops thought it was a ridiculous thing to involve the police in.) read more

If you work hard and spend wisely on good quality clothing, do not put your trust in this business. I brought them a beloved and stylish pair of silk and linen pants (culottes) for a new fastener. They lost them. They were "sorry" and "sorry" and "sorry." The pants cost more than $200 three years ago, and I cannot find a replacement to match. They offered $80 as their "make good" even when I presented proof pricing of comparable pants. The owner will not speak with me, but hides behind the clerk at the counter in conveying his piss poor customer service. This company has one job: the care of their customers' clothing. Their first and only response should have been, "We are very sorry. What was the value of the pants so that we can make things right?" Instead, it's "$80 and no more." I have neither the time or inclination to con a small business, and I resent being so callously dismissed. I am sick about the loss of these pants - I earn a nonprofit sector salary, I work hard, and I purchase quality clothing meant to last. I feel more sickened by this otherwise unbelievably bad experience. Stay away from this business. read more

Used to be very good. Counter person knew you when you walked in-- very friendly and efficient. Last few week she is gone and shirts are also coming back very wrinkled. I was just told they "are machine pressed and can't be perfect". If they don't improve, I'm going back to Logan Cleaners. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. This place charged me $11 for two articles of clothing claiming that they tried to get the stains out. Only problem was that neither had stains prior to their service. Now the clothes are ruined and when I tried to approach them on the subject, they had the absolutely worst attitude. I am never going back to them and I hope this is enough of a warning to others that there are plenty of other places nearby where the quality and customer service is better. Excellent customer service. In my first encounter with this dry cleaner, they took care of my alterations - and on time!!! Since then, I do all my dry cleaning with them and so far so good. The only reason, I am not giving them 5 stars is because they closed the door on the 13th street entrance. read more
