Fantastic experience! Quick install, priced the same as their estimate and below competitors pricing, their work looks clean and as minimally invasive as possible. I set up a gigabit wired connection through my house and it took 2 hours to run 4 lines to multiple rooms. Things are in a better place and my connection speeds are screaming fast :) Mike nailed it. Good aspects: Great install and explained everything well. Happy with the sound system. Bad aspects: Changed TV providers and the remote no longer worked. Tried to arrange service to program remote and was told they were scheduled out over a month. I then tried to add a new service (new TV) as I wanted to do that anyway. They are so busy (business is good) and it just was not possible to arrange service. This is frustrating after you spend thousands to get a system in. I am waiting for a call back from the person they sent me to. Basically, they do great work, but you have to wait. Do not expect to get assistance after the install unless you can wait a long time. Of course, I should have never agreed to a remote that requires programming to work with new devices. Overall a mixed experience. read more

Adam personally came out to discuss the project which was elaborate. His crew arrived and the project turned out beautifully. They kept us informed as they worked. Their subcontract crew for the construction part of the project was Eric and team and they were awesome also. They did everything perfectly from painting to cabinet making and a beautiful star filled ceiling. I am really proud of the finished product and cant praise or recommend them highly enough. This company is top notch. I will be referring everyone that I know, to talk to these guys, for anything that they do. The whole process with Capitol Audio Video started with Adam 3 years ago. I had saved my money and was ready to invest in the theater room of my dreams... and then we had our first child. Adam understood as we put the project on hold. I just need a year I said, and the three years later, I was finally ready again. Adam came right out and we picked up where I left off. The Bid I have to give a major award to Adam. He visited my house three times within two weeks, as we changed concepts and changed rooms. I explained to him that I know some names in the business, but I don't know what is best for home theaters. I gave him my concept, theater by night, video games by day, and he took off and build me something that was exactly in my budget. I was genuinely impressed with his professionalism and his willingness to come back so many times. I also cannot discount my gut feeling. When I first started the bid process I had three other companies come out and visit. Every one of them made me feel like I needed to take a shower, except Adam. The Install The two guys arrived and went immediately to work. They were personable and didn't seem to mind my occasional interruptions as I looked around to watch them work. They were quick and clean. I wish there was more to say, but I really cannot expand past quick and clean. The result The room is fantastic! The sound is amazing. The picture is perfect. The remote control and app combo is very impressive. I am already begging my wife for an allowance so we can put in more home automation into the theater room. This was a truly impressive job by Capitol Audio Video. Final Comments Pros: See above. I cannot wait to do more business with these guys, this one project has earned my loyalty to them for a long time. Cons: After they left, I noticed some sheet rock dust under every speaker and hole that they cut for wiring. Thanks, Carl. I actually was not unresponsive. Even after I had told them, and went through all of the above, that I preferred email contact over phone calls, the next way they reached out to me, after I had already had another firm adjust their mounting and provide a universal remote (all at my own expense), was to call me midday on a weekday, when I was unfortunately sleeping after a 30 hour shift at work. I informed them (again) that I would no longer be working with them and had already had the work rectified. I was somewhat mystified that after the problems with them wanting to communicate by phone and refusing to do so via email, that they would still call. The next day my wife and I received an overnight letter from Carl, who works in Austin and until that point had been uninvolved in our dealings with AV Discounters. This was a month after all of the above had happened, at which point I did not feel a response to Carl's letter was really warranted. He offered what I felt was a sincere apology, which, however, after the customer service demonstrated by their firm, was wholly too late. So I suppose yes, I was unresponsive to your letter, but I feel I was not unresponsive to your company reaching out, considering the day you wrote the letter I had spoken to your brother, Adam B., by phone and clearly explained that we would not be dealing with them further. Carl's letter also said that they would prefer it if I would take my Yelp review down, a point I certainly would not be bringing up had Carl not decided to comment on my review. Yelp is here for consumers to share their experiences with companies. I had a bad one. My review stands, particularly now that you would characterize me as unresponsive. Hopefully this response shows that I am in fact quite responsive. Again, I would avoid dealing with this firm. There are so many options out there, do you really want to deal with the guys who reach out a month after a customer service debacle and then accuse you of being unresponsive to them to make themselves look better on Yelp? read more

I HIGHLY recommend Capitol Audio Video! I was very impressed with the service I received from the moment I called to ask for help with our existing Control 4 System. Ross patiently listened to all the difficulties that we had experienced with our previous dealers and the challenges that our system was presenting us. He sent Josh to our house the very next day. I learned more from Josh about our Control 4 System in 1 1/2 hours than I had learned in the 2 1/2 years of having it. Josh resolved all the coding issues to get our system up and running again. SOOOO GLAD I HIRED PROFESSIONALS! So...after getting a few different co's out here, we went with Adam and the Capitol A/V team. Why??? Well, Adam is awesome, trustworthy, listened to our needs, knew his stuff, had a nice vision for our room, and was not pushy nor trying to lay it all on us!!!  We wanted a nice Home Theater in our home in West Houston, but didn't know what we should spend on it. It was to be used for movies, gaming for the kids, and music. We really wanted a multi purpose room with good picture quality, and sound, but again, not anything extreme or "extra curricular". Adam is just a laid back, intelligent A/V dude that really focused on what we wanted, not what was going to blow up the cost of the job.  As for the other companies, we had some interesting experiences...so a word to the wise...do a little research before a company even comes out to give you a quote. And ask if the company you are calling uses employees or contractors!  The timing: Adam showed up on time-ish for the quote (was running a few minutes behind), and the Capitol A/V installation team was on time. The installation: The guys were CLEAN, professional, well trained, FRIENDLY, and knew this stuff backwards & forwards! Michael and Andrew took care of everything...from putting the new wires inside the walls, to cutting holes, installing the speakers and subwoofer, to mounting the projector and screen, to hooking everything up and then cleaning/vacuuming the extra scraps. They laid down painters cloth, even though the room was empty. Once installed, they showed me how to use everything and it was pretty simple overall. The result: At the end of the day (literally 1 day project) we had a 7 speaker system (from Sonance) with a booming in wall subwoofer (the kids love it), and a brand new Screen Innovations 100" projector screen, paired with an Epson projector, Xbox hooked up, etc.. The screen is some sort of new technology and created and built in Austin, TX so that was a cool aspect to keep it somewhat local. We also had them handle setting up and connecting our Apple TV and streaming to be without a hitch.  Adam & his team at Capitol A/V were an awesome experience for us. I'll definitely hire them again if we ever move or need something else done around the house! read more

This review is long overdue and although I'm not yet done with all the projects around the home, I had an incredible experience working with Adam and Katelyn. Adam personally came to my home and discussed my overall plan for my family room, game room, and media room. Suggested appropriate tv sizes, mounting, and speaker placement. Adam was also very honest about concerns he had which led me to bring up things to my builder that I didn't notice prior to purchasing. He communicated to me via text, email, and even on weekends when I had the time to talk. The guys came on time to install and were very professional and helpful. They also pointed out that they didn't feel the projector screen I picked was going to look good installed and walked me through all possibilities instead of just installing what I ordered and leaving. Katelyn was also extremely helpful at staying on top of things with the order and being that I have 100 things going on just like everyone else, I really appreciated the follow up and reminders. I called Capitol after having sat through a couple of other in home consultations. Adam with Capitol was by far more considerate of my budget, and even pointed out some bad advice I had received from one of the other consultants. Needless to say, I proceeded with Capitol. The day of the install, the techs arrived on time (perhaps even a bit early) and were very courteous and professional. They were able to make on the spot adjustments to the equipment to satisfy me, and didn't act like it was a bother, which I appreciated very much. My only gripe (and the only reason I didn't rate a perfect 5 stars) would be that they did initially exclude a pair of speaker stands that I ordered, but this was a minor inconvenience. The techs were back out two days later to finish the job, and I couldn't be happier. read more

Second call to them, spoke with a Joey. He informed me that Capitol didn't do commercial work but handed it off to a company that did, assuring me that Francisco with that company (Multi- Media Techs) would call me promptly. Right.
