Julio, Eric and Zach were absolute wizards. I had a particularly difficult installation with 4 wireless access points, a camera, and center speaker. I was not sure they would be able to get wires to all the wireless access points. The guys worked hard and were able to get everything installed and when they left the house was better than when they got here. Yep, I gave this place 5 stars 4 years ago, but I'm updating my review due to my most recent interactions. We recently needed troubleshooting for our home theater system and my husband made numerous attempts to reach someone at Empire for assistance. Calls were not returned and when he did manage to speak with someone about a service appointment, all he could get was "maybe we can stop by on Friday". Not exactly what we expected given the money we initially spent. Needless to say, no one showed up on Friday. We ended up finding another company that not only returned our calls, they sent a tech out a few days later who quickly resolved our issue. Then he went through our system and pointed out some optimizations that, honestly, should have been made during the installation. When you invest in Control4, any updates/changes have to be made through a dealer, so it's extra annoying when the dealer you purchased through no longer wants your business. We look forward to working with our NEW dealer to install additional home automation and home theater components. read more

Not sure about the "No job too small" claim. We had a great initial experience with them when they upgraded our Wi-Fi gear and ran Cat6 Ethernet wiring through our house. Nice work, professional, great customer service. Then... not so much. I called them a couple of years later, following post-storm home renovations (thanks, Gulf Coast weather), to get Wi-Fi working again and re-run Ethernet cables. Over the next couple of weeks, when I'd call to follow up, Kimberley would tell me that "the GM is working on the proposal," but never got return calls. Ghosted. Finally hired an independent IT guy to make the fixes, as well as for some followup reconfigurations on the Wi-Fi gear. read more

Do not trust this company with your business. They do not value your time. However, they do value your money. They will charge your credit card for a service visit at the time of booking, but will miss the agreed to serivce window (service time agreed upon over the phone, and then confirmed in a follow up email). Do not expect a call or text to let you know that they will be 2+ hours late. Find a company that will stay true to their word, or at least communicate with you when they are running late. read more

Nice guys, polite and friendly but did NOT get the job done. They installed Control 4 remote controllers for our system. We had problems, called them and they did not follow up. We called in a different provider. The Control 4 controller failed. Never got a response back from them (after multiple communications) on whether it was covered by warranty. Complete waste of money. I need a doorbell for my new home. The builder suggested Empire to do the low voltage wiring. This included installing a Ring doorbell. The techs that came out on multiple occasion failed to get the doorbell installed. They claimed that I needed to add Wi-Fi extender, and still the doorbell did not work. After multiple attempts, I ask them to leave, and I installed a wireless doorbell with camera with no issues. Be careful allowing them to install any electronics; they are overpriced, and the skill level of the technician team is limited. read more

I was having an issue with audio and my smart TV. Everything had been working fine until one day it wasn't. I could watch TV with my DirecTV without issue, however when I tried with Prime video, HBO Max, etc., no sound. Same for listening to music with my receiver. DirecTV had moved a couple of connections when they had been out and didn't say anything to me. We gave Mario and Johan (the owners at Empire AV) the benefit of doubt. We should have learned our lesson. These two... disappointing, to say the least. Time and time again we received slow, poor, and just subpar service. Nice guys who can't follow through. After visit after visit and almost $1k in spending with AV Services, they just CAN NOT DELIVER on their word. As a consumer and businessman, your word is your bond--just maybe not for them. They seem like a capable company on the surface, but when you get into the weeds, they just can't do the job. From troubleshooting a full sound system they installed in our home prior to our purchase or coming back out 3 times to get our security cameras working, they failed. And the fact of the matter is that with their slowed, delayed, or non-existence of follow-up, they showed us pretty quickly where our business we brought them ranked. Which is not very high. The lack of integrity and character is quite obvious and telling. Not in the initial contact, but in the follow-up. Waste of money, time, and effort on our part. If you're looking for solid customer service and an AV company that can deliver consistently, AV Empire Services is not the team for you. Actually, run as far and as fast as you can from them. My install guys showed up in about 20 minutes into my 11-2 window! It took them about an hour to mount both TVs (55" & 65")! They were very quick, efficient, and Thorough! They asked me how high I wanted each television, as well as the position on the wall in terms of centering. They were able to conceal both direct tv boxes behind the tv's and hide all of the wires! My bedroom tv even had to have an electrical outlet put in right behind the tv to conceal wires, they were able to do that to for a few! They provide mounts, but I supplied my own to save on money. I have previously written them five star review. My experience today was just okay. We got new tv and had Empire come to switch it out. We already had them set up, mount, and put up tv last time so it was just a matter of unscrewing and screwing on to new tv. It was a large tv and they only sent one person. It's the same price to do this which takes 10 minutes as getting new flat screen brackets set up (measuring, drilling, mounting, etc). The guy was in and out in 15 minutes. They did not have shoe booties which I thought was weird, especially during Covid. Most service companies I have used has had their own shoe covers. I offered them brand new shoe covers I purchased as we don't wear shoes in our house. We have baby and try to keep floors as clean as possible. The guy did not make effort to keep shoe cover on. One slipped off and he walked around in his sneakers so I had to vacuum and mop after. Also, we cleaned up afterwards. My last experience was much better as the guys were very respectful of my home and cleaned up after they were done. read more

After a disappointing experience with another company to have my TV mounted, in which the guy was a complete no-show (smh) I was on a mission to get this accomplished and decided to try Empire Services & Installations. With my first choice being a complete flop, I was hoping for the best with Empire and I must say- this company did not disappoint. They are the real deal! From start to finish, I was pleased. I initially called a few days before to get a quote and to lock in an appointment. Prices were very reasonable, so I was game to move this along. I spoke with Kathy from their office over the phone and she was very informative and answered all my questions about the installation process. She set up the appointment date and informed me that the technicians would arrive between the 1PM-4PM time frame. She also stated they would call at least 30 minutes before arriving. Cool beans! Around 2PM on the day of my appointment, I received a follow up call from Kathy stating that the techs were running behind on another appointment and she wanted to know if I would be available for the 4PM-7PM time frame instead. Because my schedule was flexible for that day, I was okay with the time change.I was just happy she called to let me know, as I was able to run another errand in the meantime. I received a call from the techs closer to the arrival time as promised, stating they were on the way but had slowed up due to evening traffic. Regardless of that fact, they still got to my place within the scheduled time frame, arriving around 6:40PM. Mario and Miguel immediately introduced themselves upon entering. These guys were truly a breath of fresh air- frendly, down-to-earth, funny, and definitely experts at what they do! Me being totally oblivious to the TV mounting process, I was quite intrigued as to how they were going to hang my 50 inch flat screen AND conceal the wires. Without hesitation they informed me as to how the process works and how they were going to do it. I sat and watched as they proceeded and they did the job to perfection, all in about 40 minutes. I am beyond happy with the results! The decision to have my TV mounted has made all the difference in my living room space and I owe it all to Empire. I can appreciate great customer service from start to finish, but to top that off with excellent work as well speaks real volumes. TOP NOTCH SERVICE! I had 2 speakers installed in my walls and 2 speakers installed outside and they did an amazing job of mounting the speakers and running the wires. The technicians were smart and friendly and very professional. I talked to the owner Johan ahead of time and he quoted me a fair price for the work. They put the speakers exactly where I wanted and at no point did they try to upsell me or attempt to get me to change what I wanted done, or charge me more than had been previously agreed upon. The entire process was great. I first posted on Thumbtack about the project and was promptly messaged by Johan, the company's owner. Johan and I then had a phone conversation where I described the set up, the equipment I had, and what I wanted to be done. Johan was very knowledgeable and was familiar with my recently purchased equipment and how to accomplish what I wanted in the most efficient and cost effective manner. His quote was also very reasonable compared to other companies of similar expertise. On the day of the instal, Brian and Dion from Empire Services came out during the time window given. They called me one hour before they arrived as well. The TV was downstairs and they brought it up themselves. They were both very knowledgeable, patient, and efficient in their work. They knew exactly what to do and did not have to cut any unnecessary sheet rock or drill any more holes than necessary. They explained what they were doing throughout the install, worked with me to get the TV and sound system set up and calibrated to optimal performance, were patient with me when I was having WiFi issues preventing us from moving forward, and gave me some great advice moving forward. Overall I was extremely pleased with price, communication, quality of work, the friendliness of the staff, and the over result. My media room looks great, the sound system sounds great, and the TV is perfectly wall mounted. I 100% recommend them, and will use them again in the future to install a sound system in my living room downstairs. I called empire last minute yesterday to have my TV mounted and they were able to come same day to mount the tv.
