In 2004, I needed a small awning over a back porch at a different home, and because of my previous experiences, I called them to do that install. Each time, I was completely satisfied with their work, installers and pricing. It may or may not make a difference to anyone reading this review that I have done a bit of contracting work as a "house-flipper", so have both a fair amount of knowledge and understanding of contractors. While this does not describe my experience with Metro, sometimes contractors drop the ball...they respond slowly or fail to call back. I generally give someone a 2nd chance, but after that...I move along. I have had good experiences, and while I am sure there are other reputable awning companies out there, I see no reason to "re-invent the wheel" and try some unknown entity when it comes to awnings in the future. As a matter of fact, I just referred them to a roofing contractor friend, which is what brought me to their site and prompted this review.

Monday 1rst of February 2021 it collapsed in the middle where the supposed to be poll was not necessary. I reach them first to use my 2years warranty, forget about it, they offer to help on my deductible thought they were responsive, then when i told them my deductible and what insurer told me ( that a third poll will have prevent this situation Guess what!!! I was reluctant to give a half deposit but what was more scary is Alex asked for it to be made out to cash....red flag number one. Alex then promised me a 3 week turn around which is clearly written on my contract and that turned into a 6 week turnaround time. When I called to follow up with Alex on the date and time because I hadn't heard from them he gave me such attitude for even calling and was very confrontational. We ended the call with him saying someone would call me by the end of day the next day; that did not happen! I called back the following Monday and left a message because he didn't take my call....no response...red flag number two. I called the next day and he gave me the installers number to call them directly for my date and time. The installer gave me a date 3 more weeks out and said it was due to covid. Red flag number 3....Alex said they would take down the old awning minus any wood and take it away. Well that DID not happen...the installer refused then called Alex to confirm and Alex denied it but then slipped up in the conversation and said he told me he couldn't take wood; which solidified the fact we had the discussion. The installer then took only the metal pipes and left the old awning cover and the wood. Later that day I see my grass is all burnt up where the installer rested the old awning cover on my grass in the hot sun so now I got 2 awnings....the one they installed and the burnt in image of my old one in my grass grrrrrrrr I would never use them again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone else not even my worst enemy.
