It is hard to find a 2 BR 2 BA hotel last minute in the summer, so we were grateful to find it. Our suite was on the second floor, which I specifically asked for because we stayed here one time previously on the first floor and it smelled like mildew. The second floor was clean and spacious. The place has a lot of room for a family, complete with full kitchen. It's VERY outdated and needs a facelift and attention to details, but it did the job of providing us a clean place to sleep. The towels had some stains on them and there was a bit of mildew on the shower curtain. The front desk staff were very friendly and fun. It is along the main road, so you can hear the traffic, but not too noisy. read more

Some ambivalence (detailed below) based on noise, but overall a family-friendly with a decent location, if you're getting a good rate. This is a 70's era condo development that has turned into a hybrid time-share hotel arrangement. It's sort of halfway between a vacation cabin rental and a hotel room, with each unit having one or two bedrooms and a kitchenette. They're arranged four to a doorway/unit, and the "office" is a clubhouse with a pool and the front desk in a separate building. No elevator access to the second floor units. Pros: - super, super nice staff - spacious for hotel standards, a little less space than you typically get with a cabin rental - "private" outdoor veranda out the back on a grassy area - despite being right on Main Street (don't plan on taking any left turns in season), convenient location, particularly for food - there's a Star Market (formerly Shaw's) literally next door you can walk over to, and the excellent Daily Paper diner for breakfast and lunch across the way. (No breakfast at the 'Resort' but they do have coffee in the clubhouse.) You can bike or have a longish walk to the beach from here or get into downtown Hyannis relatively easy, if you dare. - wifi/TV quite decent, with outlets for device charging in good spots - we didn't try the pool but it was a good size and the adjacent club house looks out over it (no life guards) and we saw other families enjoying it - good-sized kitchenette, although feeding more than four to a room requires spreading out between the little breakfast island and the small dining table. - the sofa bed was big, and the living room lounge area was fine for four people to congregate - the price, at least for us, was right in the off-season. Cons: - a bit run down on the inside. Our unit had a cracked bathroom fixture, evidence of repainting to hide cosmetic scars and previous incarnations (see photo), and one door that was off its hinge and couldn't be closed without picking it up (the hinge screws were stripped so it couldn't be tightened). - the "musty Cape Cod old hotel smell" which is pretty common is present. - independent heating units in each room didn't quite work well by the thermostat. One room was way too hot and the other a bit chilly as a result. There are window air conditioning units, one front and one back, which we didn't try because of the season. - the major problem: noise. Night 1 there were people upstairs and we could hear every step. We also heard kid noise in the front room from the adjacent unit. Night 2 we had no neighbors and could tell the difference quite readily. The units obviously haven't been soundproofed with new flooring separation or in-wall insulation. So.....would we stay there again? Yes... at the rate we got, even with the wear and tear it was decent. It's not ideal because of the noise issue, if that weren't a concern we'd bump it up a star, if we hadn't gotten 50% of a good night's sleep though it would have been down to two stars. I suspect it may be more of a problem in-season. Tips if you do book - bring your own towels (the ones supplied are the very low end of hotel grade) and blankets (ditto). read more

My siblings and I reserved three rooms at the CapeWind Resort the night before the Cape Cod Marathon. We chose this place based on its #1 ranking on tripadvisor.com. I really wanted to like this place, as it has a great location in Falmouth, beautifully manicured grounds, and nice, albeit quaint, rooms. Unfortunately, I headed to my room to go to sleep after midnight, pulled back the sheets, and there was a large bug running between the covers. I'm not an entomologist, but I'm pretty sure it was a silver fish. I'll admit that I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so having large bugs running in a strange bed does not help me sleep well. I had to run in a relay marathon the next morning, so I decided not to bother waking the front desk and I slept in my truck. After the race the next morning, I went to the front office to return my key and told them about finding a silver fish in the bed. The woman at the front desk said something to the effect of, "Oh, I'm sorry, that happens occasionally. I wish you had woken us up, we could have found you a different room." Hmmm. This is where I struggle with this review, because she was incredibly nice and didn't challenge my report on finding a bug in my bed. While she said their policy was to not offer any refunds, she did offer me a gift certificate for a return visit. On the other hand, I travel frequently for business and pleasure, and have spent well over a year of my life in everything from 1-star to 4-star rooms from Central America to Japan, and this was the first time I've ever found a bug in my bed. I should mention that my siblings had no problems with their rooms, so maybe this does just happen occasionally. That said, I think I'll try my luck at a different hotel next time, even if I have a gift certificate to this one. read more

My husband and I just returned from this "resort". The place is dated and rundown in some areas. The room needs minor "fixing". Leaky sink was fixed while we were there (after we told the management about it). Hair dryer had a piece of broken off, kitchen cabinets need painting and door cushions so they don't slam shut. There are others things to list, but the list would go on and on.... Aside from the nice staff and okay pool and hot tub...our BIGGEST complaint was noise! This resort is owner-based. Some people own a week at a time in their own room. We had a downstairs room. The people upstairs, who were owners, were obnoxiously loud. Because this "resort" is not soundproofed, we heard literally every step they made and they made a lot of them. Honestly we thought they were bowling up there. Until 12:30am last night- so we checked out a day early. Lost precious sleep. When we told the General Manager he said he would "talk to the owners" but that there was no curfew at the place so owners could basically do what they wanted. And these people above us took advantage of that for sure. We would not go back. Sleep is one of the things we look forward to when we go on vacation and we lost sleep the entire week due to noisy clients. It was disappointing to say the least. read more

Our room was very spacious reasonable priced. Very clean. About 6 minutes away from main street of Hyannis. Quiet. Family friendly.

My husband and I went there this past weekend (10/19-21). It was absolutely wonderful. The place was clean, bright, and so very comfortable. I rarely sleep well when I'm not in my bed, but this place was better than home. I wish I was able to bring home the pillows. It was also wonderful to have a kitchen available so we could make a quiet dinner at home. With a Star Market right around the corner, it was great to have a night to sit back and watch a movie from the Red Box. We also took advantage of the pool and hot tub. It was great. Nothing to negate on this weekend away. read more

If you are looking for the lap of luxury, this is probably not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean spot, with super-nice and helpful staff, and a safe, central location to hang out on the Cape, this could be your new favorite spot. I can't say enough about the manager Mike, and his fantastic team at Cape Winds. This is an older place, with horseshoes, tetherball, a bocce court, indoor pool with a sliding roof...homey...even somewhat campy. Games for the kids to check out on rainy days, coffee and tea in a little lounge area, great wifi, and Shaws grocery next door. A great place to relax, and if I don't shut up I'll never be able to get reservation here when I want to come. read more

It's a dump. Clogged toilets, no hangers in closets (none, not a one). Mold in the bathrooms (eww). Mattress on bed at least a decade old -- hard as a rock. And the ancient futon in LR so dirty it's crusted ... but more comfortable the the bed! Ripped screen was mended with cello-tape. I have pictures. I do not exaggerate. Maybe it was nice, once upon a time ... but this unit is way below par for a timeshare ... it's not even up to Motel 6 standards. Go somewhere else. Oh, and did I mention the mice? read more

Five star to the staff. Adrian was very helpful She was in her car ready to leave and got out and went back in to get trash bags and dishwasher detergent for us. The condos themselves are older but well maintained and very clean. The resort is in a great location for whatever you want to do. read more

The staff was friendly but the room was average. Had a problem with the guests upstairs, they are suppose to have up to six guests but they had at least 5 children and 6 Adults and the front desk new about it and when we complained of hearing them running and stomping all day and all night long they talked to them but they didn't stop so we had our vacation ruined. I would not go back to this resort, for the money your better off staying at a Best Western. read more

We stayed here for four days Labor Day weekend using our Royal-Holiday timeshare points and were very pleased. Don't believe any negative reviews. We were four adults and had a two bedroom, two bath unit on the ground floor and it was very clean (I am very fussy) and close to everything ( Hyannis shopping/souvenir shops, restaurants, ferries). There is an excellent breakfast spot across the street named "The Daily Paper", a grocery store next door, and a very nice gourmet-type market down the road. The women in the office are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. read more
