I booked this hotel thinking it was going to be a pleasant experience based on the reviews and photos. Boy, was I wrong. First, most of the staff, were very unfriendly and rude. Zero sense of concern and zero hospitality. Very unwelcoming. Second, the room was EXTREMELY HUMID. Literally, we walked in and it was as if we were getting water-boarded. Just pure MOISTURE in the air. We had a difficult time breathing. Additionally, the wet air smelled like mildew. All of the beds, bedding, and floor felt WET. As we sat/laid on the bed -- it was damp. It made the entire stay extremely uncomfortable. The air OUTSIDE was far more less humid than inside the room. We even tried running the AC unit and/or leaving it off -- but it didn't help. Room was still soaking wet. Waste of money. If you have a chance to pay an extra $50/100 more to stay elsewhere -- do it. read more

CAUTION: BED BUGS! I ended up with numerous bites and a medical exam confirmed the pattern and bites are consistent with those from bed bugs. My research about bed bugs alarmingly also confirmed for me that the strong musty odor in the room is consistent with the presence of bed bugs. Needless to say, the inn's response was less than desirable, and I hope to spare readers of the distressing and disgusting experience I had. Generally I do my research prior to staying in hotels, but the little time I had did not afford me the opportunity to recognize that reviewers outside of the platform I used had already noted a similar experience. This hotel is a charming little inn. Our room had a small kitchenette, a king-sized bed and a large enough room for 2 people to maneuver comfortably. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room was made-up daily and always smelled clean and fresh. The hotel is a block away from Main St. Hyannis, where there are a ton of shops and restaurants with every type of cuisine. It's an easy walk and a great way to walk off your meal afterwards. It's one of the more reasonably- priced hotels for the area. We will definitely return to Seacoast Inn if we ever find ourselves in Hyannis. read more

All the articles I read about the Cape said not to stay in Hyannis because it was too modern and not what you are looking for when you go to the Cape. I'm glad I didn't follow this advice as SeaCoast Inn was the perfect location for us and the inn was pretty nice. If you are looking to work from home or need a strong wifi signal (to play games on your phone) this is probably not the inn for you. The wifi signal is pretty non-existent and good for only basic needs like checking email or surfing websites. That's it. Think one bar wifi. The room itself is really nice like a small fancy studio. There is a kitchenette, seating area, nice mounted tv (with basic channels), and bathtub. There were a few negatives about the room. One was the very dirty air conditioner. You could see all the dust caked in the vent and filter. The walls are paper thin. Also, in this time of Covid it would be nice to have a brand new sponge for the kitchenette. As for the positives, location is key. You could walk 5 min and have access to all the main street restaurants. You could drive 15 minutes and be in another town's beach. There is free laundry facilities on the premises (soap included!). You have access to beach equipment like chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. Free parking. I'd definitely recommend this inn and stay here again. Just don't count on the wifi to be anything speedy or great. read more

Not the most luxurious hotel in existence, but I have to give five stars based on the convenience and value alone. We stayed here for one night before our ferry to Nantucket, and it was perfect for that. The price was good, it was walking distance to the pier, and it even had a basic breakfast. On a Wednesday in October, I think we were the only people there. The hotel obviously used to be a motel, with windows looking into the hallway, but I was nicely renovated, better than some similarly converted Holiday Inns I've been to. There's a decent kitchenette, newer tv and the bed is comfortable. Very pleased overall. read more

My lovely and talented wife and I planned a few days away to decompress after our youngest's wedding, and to deliver an old friend's ashes to the ocean. We agonized over listings up and down the Cape that would have cost under $500 for three nights up to (and past) $1,200 for three nights. We didn't require a pool or a view of the ocean, and we went in expecting to pay $600 to $700. Oddly enough, the deciding factor that brought us to SeaCoast was a photograph of the bathroom. In photos of two dozen or so other properties, we saw sinks or vanities that might accommodate a single guy with maybe a razor, but not a woman who traveled with even a small amount of makeup or accessories. That little detail made things easier (for both of us!) in the mornings and in the evenings, and as far as we could tell from customer photos online, it was a detail lacking in properties at twice the price. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We didn't hear much from guests on either side of us, largely because the air conditioner was usually on. With the window open we could hear band concerts and evening movies on the green behind the inn. Everyone - and I mean everyone - who works at SeaCoast was wonderful. Our checkin took about two minutes. The housekeeping staff, whose job I would never want, had a smile for everyone. I didn't see anyone just tapping on a phone. Even the housekeeper with the disagreeable task of picking up cigarette butts in the parking lot had a friendly "good morning" for us. After all the social distancing warnings and with the knowledge that everyone on Cape Cod is starved for help, we did not expect housekeeping service in our room; if there was to be any, we thought maybe once. Yet our room was cleaned and neatened up three mornings out of three. When our housekeeper saw that we had laid our dishes on paper towels to dry on our first night, she left us a dish towel. Certainly not necessary; in fact, I'm impressed that she noticed. We were limited as to what we could take for breakfast due to some dietary restrictions, but the breakfast nook was spotless and well stocked every morning. The inn is a two-minute walk from downtown and barely a five-minute walk from the waterfront. If we were inclined to use the ferry or take a boat ride during the day or eat in one of downtown's restaurants every night, we wouldn't have had to start our car for our entire stay. We stayed at the height of the season, three weeknights, and it wasn't under $500. In fact, it was a few dollars under FOUR hundred. If we visit the Cape again for any reason, this will be our first choice for where to stay. read more

Just got back from a stay at the Seacoast Inn on Friday. We were more than pleased with our stay. Upon making reservations we were reminded that this is a small inn and not a resort. It is a good place to stay but will not be the place to spend most of your trip. We made the reservations based on the price, location and excellent reviews. We arrived at the location easily and did not find the parking lot that hard to manage as we drive an average sized Hyundai. The owners were beyond friendly, welcomed us happily and always knew who we were and even knew when we were checking out without asking or looking it up. They offered any assistance in finding routes to where we wanted to go, supplies for a day trip, recommending places to eat, etc. When making reservations, we had requested extra towels and pillows and when we got there we had a small mountain of both available to us. I had obsessively collected travel info so we were well prepared but got useful directions and info from them on top of that. They were warm and inviting and we felt more than welcome and comfortable at all times. This may be one of the quietest hotels I have ever stayed in, it was amazing. No one yelling or slamming doors, no kids running around all day and night. This is a hotel to stay at if you want a nice quiet place to stay while you venture out during the day to enjoy the Cape. If you want to stay up all night, party and hang out at the pool all day, you need to find another place to hang your party hat for the night. The location was fabulous, a walk around one corner takes you to Main Street and a walk around the other corner takes you to the harbor. You are a decent driving distance from everything on the Cape. The breakfast was great. The room was spacious enough, had a decent kitchen area, chairs, a king size bed, TV and clean bathroom, and there was even an alarm clock. My only complaint would be the aroma after housekeeping has been through, the fragrant cleaning products were a bit much for us though opening the windows aired things out enough to make it okay. We left with a handshake from both owners and a free box of salt water taffy. The hotel was everything promised and we did not expect more from it as we were told there would not be more. read more

Like many reviewers before me on a certain OTHER review site, I booked the SeaCoast Inn based on all of the fabulous testimonials I read there. Certainly, the price was right and I liked the idea of staying in centrally-located Hyannis for the seven-nights we were planning to be on the Cape. However, our experience at the SeaCoast was markedly less exciting than everyone else's apparently was. Upon arriving, we found the SeaCoast to be located in a wonderful spot just steps away from the harbor in one direction, and Main Street in the other. We loved that we could save money on parking by walking to the ferry, and that a variety of different restaurants and stores were within walking distance, as well. However, we were put off by the cramped parking lot which caused consistent frustration for the duration of our trip. The morning we arrived, in fact, another guest had to help us maneuver our car out by navigating from behind, and then told us that she, too, had been aided earlier that day by someone. Throughout the week, we witnessed this type of event on an almost daily basis. Terri and Al, the owners, were nice enough, but there was none of the over-the-top warmth or friendliness that we were expecting thanks to all the reviews we'd read. Still, they were great at giving directions or suggesting things to do, and lent us a pair of beach chairs and some towels for the entire week so that we could come and go to the beach when we wanted. And we loved that they splurged for Dunkin' Donuts coffee and pastries every morning. :) Our room was a king suite near the stairs on the second floor. Though it was immaculate and comfortable, with a full kitchenette and a brand-new pillow top mattress, there were some problems: For one thing, there was no clock in the room! I can't tell you how annoying it was to have to rely on our cell phones anytime we wanted to glance at the time -- especially in the wee hours of the morning, when one of us would wake up and not know what time it was. Another thing that bothered us were the window treatments. The location of our room had us looking out into an ugly alley on one side, and a busy area of the corridor on the other. The alley window had horizontal blinds that did nothing to block out the harsh phosphorus bulb attached to the adjacent building, and the rice paper-like shade on the corridor-side window was absolutely useless at filtering light -- and, to add insult to injury, there was a bright bulb right outside our window. Thus, at night with the lights off, our room looked as though it were morning. It made for difficulty sleeping. Housekeeping was another problem. While they did a good job when they finally arrived, there are only two people working each floor. Often, we would come back in the afternoon or early evening and find that our room still hadn't been made up. What's worse is that every single day, after they'd been there, we had at least one to two flies whizzing around the room. My boyfriend had become quite the pro at fly-killing by the time we left the SeaCoast. Lastly, our room's door didn't fit in the jamb properly, and there were very large, lopsided gaps at both the top and bottom. Because of this, we would place the bedspread in front of the door every evening to give us a bit more privacy and to block out the light that was coming through. One more thing that disappointed us is that there is no pool and, in fact, no grounds whatsoever. However, because we knew about this ahead of time, I can't really blame them. All in all, we were comfortable at the SeaCoast, but would've had a better time at a larger chain had there been one nearby. If you're planning to stay a night or two on Hyannis en route to another location, then the SeaCoast is a fine place. If you're looking to make it your "home base," however, I'd consider another property. read more

I was desperately seeking a place to stay somewhere in Cape Cod for a last minute trip and was almost about to give up when I found SeaCoast listed as #1 in value and service in a popular travel website. The price or availability was not listed so I just took a stab in the dark and called- no answer. Then I emailed directly. In less than an hour I got a response with a daily rate and of course they had a room available for the days I wanted. What luck?! I then called back, gave my information and in less than an hour my trip was in full swing. Once we arrived, the owners graciously greeted us, checked us in along with great advice for places to see and eat. Our room faced the street and had a little kitchenette with a king size bed. It was pretty standard nothing fancy but clean- which is a priority for me. We loved the place and the town so much we extended our stay for an extra day which the owners alerted us about a vacancy. I love that it was centralized in Hyannis walking distance to the Main Street where shops and restaurants are located as well as the pier where the boats and additional restaurants are. During our stay we drove to other locations at the cape all the way down to Provincetown. The lovely owners even have maps and suggestions ready for a very memorable and scenic trip! Stayed here Friday through Monday nights and an excellent place! The room was very ample, clean, bathroom spotless, "Tommy" at the desk greeted me with much enthusiasm and took time to explain the area, providing me with a map with the restaurants and spots to check out. The breakfast was great, with eggs, toast, bagels, cereal, tea, coffee, juices and fruit! The best part was the bed! They use really top quality sheets, so smooth and comfortable, and the bedding was soft and snuggly! I spoke with other guests, some ladies from London who were visiting the area, who agreed they made the decision to stay at the SeaCoast Inn based on good feedback! The SeaCoast Inn is literally steps away from the ferry services to Nantucket, around the corner from the good shopping district in Hyannis, and convenient to Cape Cod Route 6. We are spending a full week here, and couldn't recommend a better family-friendly hotel! This is NOT a resort, but it has all the basic amenities, and serves as a great home-base for travelers who plan on spending their days elsewhere on excursions. As other reviewers have said, the owners are very friendly, and also quite knowledgeable about the area--we hadn't really done our homework before we got here, and Terri has been especially helpful in helping us plan activities. The rooms are very clean, freshly renovated, and the efficiencies (to which we were upgraded for free!) come with a kitchenette--handy for a family with a small toddler. The beds are comfortable, and the free breakfast in the morning is comparable to other hotels (pastries, oatmeal, doughnuts, coffee, juices, etc.) The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance to the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, Main Street, some super restaurants. Trader Joe's, CVS, and other grocery stores are within easy driving distance. read more

We chose this place because they had the highest rating on tripThe owners, Terri and Al were more than accommodating. My husband and I rarely plan an itinerary when we travel. We like to go on a whim from what the locals tell us. Al more than helped us to make our vacation plans. Terri even kindly drove us to the harbor so we wouldn't miss the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Terri and Al are genuinely kind and genuinely care about their visitors. It truly shows. The owners thought of everything at this inn. Everything that we could possibly need was there in our room - down to the makeup removers infused with vitamin e that I secretly loved and would ask for more. Our room was adorable. Any detail had its own little spot and fit nicely in the room. They serve a free continental breakfast every morning. We never had any problems parking although their parking lot was always filled. The inn is located centrally from the harbor and all the restaurants and shops on main st. We definitely recommend that everyone stay here and we look forward to coming back. We were even given a parting gift of chocolate covered cherries. How sweet are they?! I can't say enough nice things about our stay here! read more

We spent two nights at the SeaCoast Inn in Hyannis, which is located conveniently between the ferry pier to the Islands (a 5-minute walk) and the downtown area (1 block away). The excellent location compensates the fact that it is not a resort. The parking lot is not huge, but not difficult to maneuver. I find Terri very knowledgeable about the area, with good suggestions on restaurants and other tourist info. She also provide excellent services, including laundry services with no extra charge, given that it is an independently owned inn. Bottom line: Don't expect this to be a 6-star resort, but an excellent base for your Cape Cod trip. read more

We have been loyal customers of this Inn since the late 1990's! Always rave reviews until this visit! Discovered this inn was sold recently, housekeeping services get a failing grade! Dust obvious on all furniture, kitchen area was ok but many items are missing including coffee and filters! Linens has a few holes but clean! Extra pillows were nit available! This also "was" a pet friendly Inn but now they are not welcome! Continental breakfast was very poor compared to past stays along with a dirty floor in that area! We are so sad this Inn is showing poor maintenance like loose toilet! We are happy for the past owners Terry and Al being able to retire after many years of dedication to the Inn and its customers, however we now will look to other lodging in the future read more

I spent 1 night here from Saturday to Sunday and I loved it!! The place is old and a little dated but they keep it so clean that you would never notice. The staff is super friendly, especially Tommy at the front desk. He was extremely pleasant, funny and he knew a lot about the area so he recommended some places to go for fun, food and drinks. The location is excellent, it's in walking distance to a lot of good restaurants and a really short drive to the beach. I just went this weekend with my mom of a Cape Cod getaway to celebrate her birthday. We really just wanted something close to town that was clean and nice. We were shocked by how nice they were. I just came back from a 7 night stay at SeaCoast Inn. This is my 4th year coming back and I love it! The owners, Terri and Al are wonderful! They are well informed about all the towns in the Cape and they have tons of suggestions, itinerary wise. They provide breakfast (bagels, toast, cereal, muffins, doughnuts) every morning, which was great. 8-pack Al even saved my favorite chocolate doughnut every morning to make sure they didn't run out. The rooms are nice and clean. The housekeepers cleaned the room every day. Every time we came back from our day trip, we returned to a clean hotel room. They also have a laundry machine that they let you use as many times as you want. (Pro: No dirty laundry to bring home!) The location of the hotel was great. It is a walk away from Main St. and close enough to the pier where the ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are located. Overall, I love this hotel because of Terri and Al. They make it such a pleasurable trip. Plus, the rates are very affordable! I highly recommend this inn! P.S. They have two cute shih-tzu dogs that hang out in the back of their office. Remember, this is a motel but this place has service at the level of any Ritz Carlton in the world! The room was very clean and I loved the fact that they did not have carpet, but "wood" floors. Al and Terri were so incredibly accommodating and fun to speak with. Location is wonderful and we were able to take a nice walk prior to getting on the ferry to Nantucket. My boyfriend and I stayed here just after the Fourth of July. We chose the Seacoast because of the reviews on Yelp and because it was one of the only affordable places that had good reviews. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, great cooling system, maid service was great, and the room had wood floors which was awesome. I never heard any of our neighbors. The owners were very nice and they even have chairs you can borrow for the beach! The location is in Hyannis, right by Main Street where there are loads of restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops. The beaches are a short drive. All in all. Terrible experience. A young teenager working at the front desk was rude and belligerent when I was checking in. I showed her that I had already paid for the full cost of the room on Priceline but she insisted that I charge the full amount once again before she would give me my room key. When I asked for the manager a woman came out from the back office (who I believe is the child's mother) and would not give me her name and insisted that I pay them the full cost of the room and get a refund from Priceline. Needless to say, I left to book another hotel. I also cannot believe the glowing reviews posted for this hotel. Really really great value and wonderful owners. I have never met people so devoted to such good customer service. Teri and Al were outstanding. They run their own travel agency from the front desk!. The hotel was a basic no-frills room, but very clean, spacious and comfortable. You felt as if somebody was always paying attention. The room was immaculate, and there was not a spot in the bathroom that was not freshly painted and caulked. Wifi and a nice big flat screen TV and a good choice for breakfast were included. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Great value for such a well located hotel in Hyannis, close to the ferry ports and many shops and restaurants. A most wonderful surprise awaited us when we arrived to see this huge room with King bed, but a sitting room, and kitchen, cupboards SS with necessities, and....no charge washer and dryer and laundry detergent, for our use if desired! Breakfast is included, which consists of breads, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and more. Location is ideal for walking to main streets full of restaurants, shops and misc., and just few short blocks to water, marina, JFK Memorial site, local artists in colorful wooden shacks. Husband chose by location and good ratings and looked for non-smoking lodging, but we got much more than expected. Management and staff all very attentive and helpful. Can't go wrong here. After staying at the SeaCoast Inn (in July of 2012), I am now SPOILED FOR LIFE!!!! Everything about it was perfect! Al and Terri were the most FABULOUS hosts. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. They told us about the hotel, and showed us a room where we could borrow coolers, beach equipment, and get ice. After that, they personally walked us up to our room (which they had upgraded!). The room was very spacious, and the little kitchenette was so convenient! The air conditioner worked very well! The room was bright and airy. The room was immaculate! Outside, there were beautiful hanging flowers, and windowboxes with flowers, which gave an extra nice touch to an already perfect place. Breakfast was served every morning, with a very generous spread. Terri and Al would talk to us in the morning, and casually ask what we were doing for the day. If it was the beach, they knew the best one, and would give you an address and directions. If it was going sightseeing, they would give you a map, and highlight things to see. If we talked about getting dinner later, they shared their recommendations, and provided menus. They knew EVERYTHING and were so quick to help! The hotel was a block from the main street, so many things were within walking distance, which was fantastic. The only thing that could make this place better is a pool (for times where you don't want to go to the beach, but want to lay in the sun and take a dip!) On the way out, they give a parting gift. We even saw past guests stop by just to say hi to Terri and Al!! They were staying somewhere else, because SeaCoast Inn was full, but that is the relationship that Terri and Al build with their guests. Their customer service is unlike anything I have ever seen, and I am forever thankful for them making this vacation such a fabulous experience!!!! The first time we've ever stayed at an Inn. I'm glad we did. This is a quaint little Inn right off Main Street. The rooms are clean and offer a nice little kitchen in case you want to stay in and cook. What's more impressive is the level of service they offer. Terry and Al exhibit exemplary service. My sister and I recently stayed at the SeaCoast Hotel. We had hoped to find a clean and convenient place to hang our hats,during our weekend visit to catch Michael McDonald at the Cape Cod Melody Circus. Imagine our surprise to receive each of our wishes and much more! Michael McDonald was flawless and equally, so was the SeaCoast Hotel. Thanks to Yvonne it was immaculate...she contributed to maintaining a spotless,impeccably clean room. It was the 3C's, cozy, clean, and comfortable. Great location- not only within Cape Cod itself but also within Hyannis Port. You can easily walk to Main St and the port. Extremely friendly staff that is willing to help plan out your daily excursions. You can borrow their beach equipment each day including boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, and sand toys. This is not a five star luxury resort with a pool and all the amenities (which there isnt much of on Cape Cod anyway), but it's the perfect place to stay if you don't need all that on your trip. The rooms nicely appointed and clean. We would recommend it to couples, friends, and family alike. We will definitely be coming back on our next Cape Cod visit!! read more

Terri and Al are just fantastic! Very warm and full of all kinds of great info on the area and activities!! The rooms are super clean, quiet, spacious and cheery! The Inn is located in one of the most perfect parts of town. Close to all the restaurants, the main street shops and the ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. My wife and I stayed here for two nights while we were in the process of moving to a new home. Overall, this is a pleasant place to stay if your expectations are suitably low. It's within walking distance to Main Street restaurants and the waterfront in Hyannis. The restaurants in Hyannis, and for much of the Cape for that matter, are over-rated (heck, most of them are sucker traps for tourists). It's hard to find a decent meal and the prices are ridiculous for the quality, but that's another story and has nothing to do with this review. The rooms are clean, although a bit small. The bed in our room was king-sized and quite comfortable. The room we stayed in had a small kitchenette, which is great if you don't want to eat out every night. The breakfast included with your hotel tab is woeful. The bagels are hard like little hockey pucks and there are these things that look like muffins but they're the size of thimbles and taste like butt crack paste. Supposedly, they put out yogurts but if you're not one of those first two people to arrive in the breakfast area, you're out of luck. I don't know what was in the thermos bottle labeled "coffee." I couldn't put my finger on what that brown liquid was. The towels are too small and so thin that Charles Dickens would have wrote about how even poor people refused to use them in one of his novels if he had been around. The shower was absolutely terrible. The water pressure is so low, that you would be better off standing outside on a rainy day to rinse off. The guy who signed us in was civil but not particularly friendly. I wasn't looking to make a new friend, so it didn't bother me. I mention it because other posters have raved about how friendly the people who work here are. Look, if you're from out of town and you want a clean, centrally located place to stay, without any Norman Bates types running around, and you're willing to forget about getting a (cough) continental breakfast with your room, then you'll be okay. Hey, the wi-fi is free, which beats a stick in the eye. read more

Now I am spoiled rotten. The inn itself is conveniently located near shops and restaurants and is a clean, quiet place, but it's the owners who make it really memorable. A friend and I stayed there and I've never been treated so well in my life! We were leaving the lobby to walk to the ferry to take the ride to Martha's Vineyard, and Terry popped out of the office to drive us there! Never had service like that. We didn't arrange for a ride back because we didn't know how long we'd stay on the island. While there, it started raining. When we got off the ferry, there was Terry waiting for us to drive us home even though we hadn't arranged it in advance! She didn't want us to have to walk back in the rain, and she figured out on her own what time we'd probably be back and came to get us. We were so surprised and so grateful. Plus, my friend was in the lobby talking to the owners at the front desk, and she mentioned it was my birthday. They sent her back to the room with a gift for me, some nice chocolate! What inn owners give birthday gifts? Stay here. You'll feel really good. read more
