We sat upstairs and the whole feel of the place was just welcoming and hospitable- felt like a community gathering spot. Danielle was our server and she was knowledgeable, made great recommendations, was fast and just overall amazing. Btw- she was 100% spot on about the banana pudding martini- absolutely delish! The chicken pesto panini was fabulous. The Cuban sandwich was good, but the ribs and hen chips were only average. Nonetheless, the warm toffee cake was phenomenal for dessert!

We would come here again.

The food is always made very quickly to boot, I place the order on the phone and it's always been ready within 15 minutes. I would highly recommend any of their BBQ platters. They come in pretty big portions that allow for 2 sides on top of that. I also really like their Loaded Cheese Fries with Pulled Pork. Everything on their menu is delicious and has huge servings, you will always be satisfied after every meal from them. The only criticism I have of the place is that I wish they didn't close so early. They close their doors at 7PM which is prime dinnertime. I think they would make a lot more money if they stayed open for 2 hours later. I did have to skip them a few times I wanted their food because it was 7:30 and they were already closed. Having their menu online would help greatly too But other than that, it's an awesome place.

She was quick, efficent, and friendly. She knew when to check up on us. We ordered the blackened shrimp benedict, the steak and eggs, and a short stack of French toast for the table. The food came out quickly. The shrimp wasn't blackened, and there wasn't really any seasoning. It wasn't bad though. The potatoes it came with were cooked well. They were crispy with a good skin. They had containers of maple syrup on the table already. I asked for hot sauce and it came in a plastic container too. The French toast was delicious, i really enjoyed it. It was an extra 3 bucks for your choice of fruit on top, I might do that next time. The high top table we were sat at was pretty wobbly. Trying to cut into our food was a little dicey as the whole table would kind of shake. And right up by the servers station, so it was a little awkward. Our table was also super small. The food portions were huge, so it was a struggle to try to fit 3 plates on our table. We ended up having to push some of the stuff and balance it at the side of the table/the servers station. And with the table wobbling, it was pretty uncomfortable. The food wasn't bad, but honestly the service was the best part. They were all a well oiled machine and quick. It's a very standard beach town restaurant, but there service was definitely top notch.

So naturally, I got the Brisket Platter which came with two sides. I was a little disappointed that they were out of baked beans but no big deal. The Brisket along with the two sides was very satisfying. Very good amounts of food and such a tender brisket! Interestingly, this place serves breakfast all day long. So my friend ordered the French Toast for dinner. I tried some and it was very well made! I really liked the syrup and the vanilla icing that came with it. Everything here was on point. The food, service, portions, and pricing. I have absolutely no complaints and wholeheartedly recommend Grillin N Chillin

The brisket was AMAZING!!!! The depth of flavor from the smokiness or the tender brisket to the bbq sauce on top - it was soooo good! The pulled pork was lean (my picky eating daughter ate it all)!! The chicken in the Soprano was super crispy and flavorful. The hot honey chicken was hot, but great! Next time, we'd ask for the sauce on the side so we could take the spice, but that's the only thing we'd change. So glad to have a place like this in north cape May! Highly recommend giving this place a go!!!!!

Finding PigDog can be a little tricky, so here is the scoop: you will need to walk through Morey's Piers all the way to the end, past the waterpark, and across a few scenic ramps until you arrive at this hidden oasis. The walk itself is part of the fun, with awesome views of the Ferris wheel and rides along the way. Just keep in mind, it can get crowded and noisy, so pups that are sensitive to hustle and bustle might need some extra care. Pig Dog is a seasonal tiki-style bar and restaurant where leashed, friendly dogs are welcome. Expect good vibes, ocean breezes, and plenty of American-style eats and drinks. There is even a dog menu and Brie was treated to ice cream (thanks, Madison!). The indoor area is spacious, fully covered, and has wind barriers for cooler days. Outside, you will find flat sandy ground that is easy to walk on, with extra seating, swings, and games right on the beach. It is the ultimate summer hangout, and even better during local summer, when the crowds thin and the temps are just right. Check them out on social media for the latest updates and schedule.

Each time I've visited, the service was a bit slow after being seated. Due to its location, it is a very nice place to take in the whole beach and amusement park atmosphere. It's a very relaxing place to chill, eat some appetizers, and get some drinks. It's especially nice when they have live music playing or singing going on. That's why I would recommend coming here, it's a relaxing place to just lounge with company.

For what it is -- a Texas style BBQ place on a boardwalk in New Jersey -- it's decent. For us,…read morewith all the places selling the same sitting-out-all-day-in-the-hot-sun cheap pizza, hoagies, and burgers, it was a welcome change of pace. Plus, after spending a few hours on the beach & in the water, we were starving. The A/C, ceiling fans, and iced tea felt SO good after roasting that long in 90 degree heat. Plus, they actually asked me if I wanted sweet or unsweet tea -- something I'm only used to in the South or SW! As for the other (first) review, if Texas as a state is deserving of only one star, then praytell, why is it that more and more people from New York State are retiring there every day? To diss Texas and therefore a Texas style BBQ joint in the same sentence is enough to discredit an entire review as being ignorant without even getting past the first line: - Boyd's Texas BBQ is owned and run by a *Cape May native* in *NJ* - Buffalo chicken wings are not Texas BBQ Boyd's does advertise that their BBQ is slow smoked over mesquite. I don't know where they do this, but the best Texas BBQ is 'cued on site and outdoors in big pit smokers. So the BBQ here isn't fall-off-the-bone like they lead you to believe, but it does have good flavor. The brisket was really lean and a little tough. I had the combo with mesquite-smoked Texas sausage...which did taste like true Central Texas sausage except for the bites with fennel seed (those bites tasted a bit like Italian sausage). The boy additionally ordered the ribs, which also were a little chewy. The plates came with two sides -- I had the mac & cheese (it was the runny, cheesy kind) and green beans. The boy had the corn medley and homemade Texas style spicy baked beans. All dishes reminded me of a school cafeteria's versions...but the beans were not actually spicy -- they looked like Texas pinto/borracho beans, but were made more in the sweet baked beans style. Texas BBQ always comes with pickles, onions, white bread, and BBQ sauce on the side. Boyd's BBQ comes with: - a couple of thick slices of garlic dill pickles (yum) - thin slices of some really sweet white onion (yum x2; I should have asked for more pickles & onions!) - a little cornbread muffin (northern, sweet style -- not the Texas kind) - BBQ sauce on the table (authentic Texas style sauce, tangy and peppery) Eating the BBQ together with the sauce and the pickles and onions (and a good drizzlin' of hot sauce, also found on the table) really hit the spot actually. The flavors together reminded me of home. The white bread, if they'd offered it, would have probably just made me too full. It's all about expectations; Texas BBQ outside of Texas is rarely stellar. The fennel in the sausage and the brown sugar in the borracho beans were definitely New Jersey tinges to an otherwise decently authentic Texas meal. But it was reasonably priced (my combo plate was only $11.99!), and it was a lot better than the fast food crap elsewhere on the boardwalk. Above all, it did its job as comfort food. As for the wait service, our waitress wasn't slow at all; we also got plenty of napkins automatically given to us in addition to the one wrapped around our silverware. If you need more napkins, they do ask you if you need anything else -- this would be your perfect opportunity to ask for more.

Texas is called the Lone Star state for a reason, and I rate Boyd's Texas BBQ accordingly…read more Wait service was terribly slow, despite a light crowd. Food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Chicken wings are available in about 8 different kinds of BBQ sauce, but if you want buffalo (my favorite), it costs more. I was afraid to eat my wings because I only got one napkin and I had already used up nearly every square centimeter of paper real estate by the time I got to my third wing. Interestingly, there are two restrooms: a ladies room and a unisex bathroom, so that while I used the urinal, my date could come in and use the stall at the same time! Other oddities include Pulled Pork listed in the "On the Bone" section of the menu. Which is it?
