So my best friend Jamie (shorty dimples) and I went to the newly black owned restaurant of Bake'n Bacon and the time of our lives there! The food was great, on time and seasoned really well! Everything just melted in your mouth! The ambiance was beautiful, the decor was spot on, warm inviting and welcoming! The service was top tier! Our server Kayson was amazing checking on us every chance he got, made sure our drinks were constantly refilled without us asking and made sure that our food was ordered to perfection! The owners Kevin and Justin were amazing! Having a conversation with them along with the decor, ambiance and atmosphere was truly welcoming. These two young black men really did their thing with everything from the time you hit the door until the time you left! They really made you feel like family there with engaging with all the customers, making you were enjoying yourselves and even allowing themselves to take pictures with them! This is beyond a five star! I would recommend any and everyone who loves bacon like I do, to not go but RUN down there and get the full experience for yourself! Oh and I forgot to add that EVERYTHING is in black! The silverware, including the bathroom! So sexy and chic! Can you say cheers to Black excellence and Bacon! I'll be back most definitely! Thank you gentlemen for an awesome experience! Tiffani (LadyBleu)

He was enthusiastic and responsive from the first phone call, he came up with an excellent menu and once he arrived to actually do the party, that menu was beautifully executed. We wanted an easy, crowd pleasing buffet that would allow our guests to help themselves and he delivered exactly that. From the perfectly roasted medium rare beef tenderloin, to the plump Cuban spiced sea scallops that he got off the boat that morning, to the nutty, toothsome roasted vegetable farro salad, everything was absolutely delicious. And to top it off the whole buffet looked gorgeous! He even came to the rescue when we realized the we had neglected to bring a cooler for the week, so he lent us his giant Yeti cooler for the entire week! What a class act from this caterer! We will definitely use him again when we come back to Avalon next summer! FYI, I think he may also lead fishing charters and if I had know that ahead of time we would have booked him for that too!

The food is always made very quickly to boot, I place the order on the phone and it's always been ready within 15 minutes. I would highly recommend any of their BBQ platters. They come in pretty big portions that allow for 2 sides on top of that. I also really like their Loaded Cheese Fries with Pulled Pork. Everything on their menu is delicious and has huge servings, you will always be satisfied after every meal from them. The only criticism I have of the place is that I wish they didn't close so early. They close their doors at 7PM which is prime dinnertime. I think they would make a lot more money if they stayed open for 2 hours later. I did have to skip them a few times I wanted their food because it was 7:30 and they were already closed. Having their menu online would help greatly too But other than that, it's an awesome place.

They have gorgeous flowers, a trail to peek in on the pigs, chickens to feed, and of course a cute shop where you can buy all sorts of fresh farm market finds. We ordered breakfast from the little stand in the back and sat at one of the picnic benches. The menu is certainly limited, so if you have a picky eater it might be hard for them to find something. My kiddos and I all ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun - but made different ways. The woman who took my order was very kind and patient as I requested no egg on one and no cheese on the other. The sandwich was very delicious and fresh. They were also able to make scrambled eggs for my niece which was much appreciated! The strawberry lemonade was a huge hit, and I enjoyed my cold brew as well. As stated by other reviewers it does get to be pretty pricey at $14 a pop per sandwich. But it was certainly a relaxing way to end our Cape May vacation.

We circled twice before squeezing into a tight spot. Keep this in mind! The grounds are cute and they have a nice retail shop where you can purchase produce, sundries, candles, kitchen accessories, and books. Small private bathrooms are accessible via the outside area. The menu is ever-changing and this ensure everything is fresh. We ordered the Chicken Sandwich, Hummus and Vegetables Platter, the Egg Sandwich, Honey Roasted Carrots, and the Lamb Meatballs. Everything was delicious. The picnic tables out back all have large umbrellas, and good thing because it began raining right after we sat down. We stayed dry and comfortable. The strawberry lemonade was super refreshing. This farm is perfect for all age groups. Not a lot of walking, but a lot to see!

For lunch we had two different sandwiches which came with a bag of chips: the chicken cutlet caprese: jersey tomatoes, basil pesto & mozzarella - 4/5, the chicken cutlet is sliced into thin pieces and mixed in with the tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella - I think I would have enjoyed this more if it was served as a piece of chicken cutlet topped with the other items. In this format it was a little hard to eat (I ended up scraping the chicken out of the bread to eat it that way), and not satisfying as a sandwich the fried eggplant, roasted peppers, sauteed spinach, tomatoes & mozzarella - 5*/5, generous slices of lightly breaded fried eggplant topped with the other items for a "meaty" sandwich, very delicious! For dinner we had the halibut with braised leeks and ratatouille over polenta, it was amazing! I'm not sure if I can recreate this at home but the combination of the perfectly prepared halibut over the creamy polenta accented by slices of the leek, topped with what I could have believed was the typical topping for eggplant or chicken parmigiana (maybe that would be easier than making ratatouille?) - sumptuous! Now that I know about Homestyle To Go I'll definitely order from there instead of eating out in Cape May every night as we usually do when we stay on the Cape. So many more things to try!

While I'm a parent too, some kids don't belong at a restaurant like this and can spoil a special occasion dinner. Service was good but noticeably slower as our server coped with the larger sized parties (8-10 people). We were acknowledged for our anniversary which was nice, but the proximity to these large parties was not appreciated. The large dining room area here is loud and the silver walls are tacky. Appreciated a quieter table last year in one of the more intimate, quieter areas of the restaurant. While I still love this restaurant, removing a star for the reasons stated.
