This market was crowded during lunchtime. There are two ordering stations, one on the left and the other on the right. We were told that the wait time could be half hour long because it was busy. You paid the order at the register then wait until your name is called. You can grab side dishes, snacks, chips, cookies at the store. I highly recommend peppadew filled with goat cheese. We've been coming to Cape May for several years and spent time trying more of the shops and restaurants in West Cape May. Westside Market is a gem. We were struck by how welcoming and warm all of the staff is. We visited twice over the course of a weekend and they noted our repeat business. We ordered subs during both of our visits. They have seemingly endless options for these sandwiches, which you can conveniently order through kiosks in the store. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. The rolls may be the best part. We took home some of the pre-prepared meatballs to try, which were also very good. read more

Could there be a better market maybe but I haven't found it. The prepared food sandwiches and fries are out of this world good. Home made baked goods to die for, we tried the pot pie in the heat and eat section can't go wrong plus so many other great treats. Oh and martins dipping chips I can't find them within miles for some reason the chains acme and shop right don't carry them but this jem of a market does have them along with so many other things did I mention it's a great butcher shop too well it is will keep coming back blessed read more

You can customize the sandwiches with lots of different flavors toppings. The godfather was excellent with broccoli rabe. We also got all sandwiches with seeded rolls and the bread was really good. The market has a variety of cold drinks, Italian deli items and baked goods. This is local family owned establishment. The restaurant was busy when we picked up but everyone was attentive and kind. Burger was excellent, although a bit annoying that they make three mini-smashes on a skewer so you have to dig your fingers into your sandwich and sort out the whole mess before you can take a bite. Who thought this was cute??? Cheesesteak was a lightweight, totally meat anemic, making the bread-meat-cheese ratio poor. I can't say the meat flavor made up for anything. This is one pretty inexcusable sandwich. I'll go back for the burger, hold the skewer nonsense. Will not be ordering a cheesesteak there again. read more

I am from the West so in my mind this is more deli than market. It has a great meat selection that they will slice to order and even make you a sandwich. They have really good prepared food ready to go. I love their Asian Sesame salad so well I went back and bought it again. Seemed like it was very well staffed and well run. read more

Amazing good and staff. Pork Rolls are not a thing in California so this was an amazing experience and gave me a love for the sandwich. First time in since the reopening with new ownership. Very clean with great variety & friendly staff. Finally, a lightly battered, fried Cod sandwich. Sounds easy right. Not when you consider, up till now, in this seaside town, no one offered a fried Cod sandwich. At best you'd find fried Flounder or Tilapia usually beer battered, greasy & fresh off the Sysco food truck. Thank you West Side Market for offering a New England style fish sandwich. Westside Market, Cape May, NJ. I love the history of this place. I love that there was a car accident in front of it in 1920 or 30 and part of the market was involved. Love this place. I think my grandfather use to get his Grain and Feed here back around the turn of the century. In defense of this Cheesesteak it did sit in the car for a while. We made a second stop then drove to Nauti Distillery. It was a long lean cheesesteak. It was good but need more meat. Lettuce and tomato held up okay. The roll had an interesting consistency but it was in the wrapper and car for a long time so I'm not going to kill it. This was a good cheesesteak. read more

Delicious sandwiches and baked goods. We tried it first the first time this summer, and it quickly became a favorite. The Jersey Girl Wrap is to die for. The fried chicken and avocado chicken sandwiches are also delicious. Cookies and muffins are out of this world, particularly the blueberry lemon cookies. Potato salad is quite good also.
