Too Much Grease! Covering hands and tray liner.

This review is for the Wildwood NJ location! Johnny Longshots? You must mean Johnny Greaseball! Too much grease! If you have quality ribeye steak, there is no need to oil it when cooking. In certain instances of time and volume, you may have heat cranked or just don't know or care about your customers cholesterol levels. Couple sprays from a water bottle would be just fine, but not this place. the tray liners were absolutely soaked. My friend only ate less than half and threw rest in garbage. In the one pic you can see the onion floating in a glob of grease. Plus that they had hot cherry peppers. Plus that they had extra sharp provolone. Plus it was free fries if you order a steak. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. I like neon lights and had neon throughout building. Environment was decent.... just one thing, I am a larger guy and this place has less than the federally required space between tables. ADA, "Forgetaboutit". Not a wheelchair friendly setup. Tall counters narrow traffic paths. I wanted to get another iced tea out of the cooler and would of had to have 2 people get up to get to it, so just asked the guy who was sitting in front of cooler. Ordering was very through.... you pay for all those extras. Steak $15.25, sharp provolone $2.00, hot cherry peppers $.65. Friend ordered extra sharp provolone an additional $2.00. I asked for hot sauce and yup, $1.00. Snapple 16oz $2.85 Because we were going to eat there I saw a $.65 convenience fee on ordering screen, asked her what that was and she took it off. Charge you for eating there?!? I informed counter girl of the greasiness and she told one of the cooks and got NO response. I noticed on yelp the reviews weren't good, bad reviews, try better rated joint... or as they call it on their wall "juan" Before I ordered I informed them this meal was for a review.

Cheesesteak with pork roll. Packed with meat

Great hoagies, cheesesteaks, chicken cutlet sandwiches, etc. Everything tastes fresh. The seeded and non-seeded rolls are both excellent. Service is always friendly and the prices are reasonable. As good or better than just about any sandwich place on the island. Open year round and they take cards!

Roasted pork with sharp provolone and long hots

Delicious! These sandwiches are huge and enough to take home the other half or split with someone. Came out fresh from being cooked, nice and hot. The seasoning was spot on making these sandwiches delicious. The pork was nice and juicy with a delicious flavor. You can dine in or take out. We chose to dine in and even though it was a little on the warm side inside we still had a great meal. We'll definitely be returning soon!

Nicely decorated. Fun games. Friendly staff. Awesome service. Very tasty food. Best cheesesteaks around Wildwood!! They know exactly what they're doing there.

Went here for the Cheesesteak with vodka sauce. It was fantastic. I come to the Jersey Shore every summer and I can't wait to come back to this place. I want to try some of their other items.

Zio's Long Hot, 3 Cheese Long Hot, The South Philly Long Hot - long hot combo

Hands down - best cheesesteak I've ever had. The bread is perfect. The flavors are all on point. And the long hots combo was beyond delicious. The staff is very friendly, as well. Highly recommend!!

Johnny Longhots is a nice little place right on Pacific. Multiple tvs, one is always playing Rocky movies (unless Philly teams are on!) and tons of old school board games to keep you busy while you wait for your food. Definitely one of the best cheesesteaks on the island, if not the best. The sandwiches are all very big. So if you don't have a large appetite, be prepared to share or take it home. Tater tots and fries are good. They do charge a fee for using cards, keep in mind if you are trying to avoid that.

There are so many choices for cheesesteaks in the Wildwoods. I've eaten at just about all of them. Johnny Longhots in the center of Wildwood didn't disappoint. First, I want to say the staff here is awesome. Everyone was polite and appreciative for your business. They make a solid cheesesteak. I had their signature cheesesteak on that Liscio's seeded roll. The ribeye had good flavor and it was not oberly salty. Portions were good, unlike so many others, and the price was somewhat reasonable. The only thing I noticed is the City of Wildwood has now implemented an additional fee for food establishment in the city. Not surprising since Wildwood is a money grab kinda town. They'll take all they can from you whenever they can. Anyhow, if you're looking for a good cheesesteak place, I think it's definitely worth checking out. Next I will be trying their Italian roast pork...

We celebrated my birthday at Alfe's, and it was the perfect festive environment!…read more They don't take reservations, so it's best to pop in and put your name on the wait list (or sit by the bar and hope something becomes available). There are several rooms to this restaurant, and it is actually located underneath a bowling alley. Talk about a hidden gem, literally! We enjoyed the live entertainment. The performer was fantastic! There was a small dance floor in front of him, and rumor has it the patrons often jump up and cut the rug. I even got a birthday serenade, table-side. So cool! If a menu offers Pasta and Crab, then you can bet your hiney I am ordering it. This place DID IT UP. Huge chunks of real crab. More crab than any other restaurant in South Jersey (really, more than any other restaurant in the entire state of New Jersey...I order this dish everywhere). The red gravy was balanced (more tart than sweet, which is what I prefer). The house salad that arrived ahead of the entrees was delicious. Creamy yet light dressing, if that even makes sense. Our party of 7 raved about everything we ordered. The garlic bread was even insanely delicious. There are so many restaurants in the area, but THIS is one we will return to time and time again. We were in the area one week later and ordered some pasta and crab to-go. It traveled back to Voorhees beautifully. Thanks for making my celebration so special, Alfe's!

I had the grill grouper one of 5 fishes of the day (on a Tuesday..not a good sign) fish had zero flavor and tasted like it was purchased on Friday. Guess the chef was trying to get one more day- server sounded surprised and said all of our fish comes in fresh everyday...(she did remove from the check) Anyway got a side order of cheese ravioli not hot and the sauce did have a slightly burnt taste as well. Sure wildwood in the summer- dining can be a crap shoot- guess I should have tried roulette...

Yet another birthday celebration! All these "summer babies!"…read more What a wonderful spot our friends recommended and met us at! I loved the red décor and photos all around of Joey P. and customers / celebrities that have dined there. Our friends valeted but we parked a street up. The pay by app made it very easy and I actually already had it downloaded. Since tomorrow will be my splurge day, tonight was just a Caesar salad with added shrimp. THIS SALAD WAS HUGE and had a plentiful amount of shrimp in it for sure! I ate almost the whole thing! It, along with the pastina soup, was well enough for me! All others had pasta and / or chicken dishes; huge portions! Everyone loved what they ordered : ) We were literally entertained the whole time by a really good duo - JUST IN TIME ~ a married couple named Joanne and Stu. They played music genres ranging from 50s - on. Joanne even sang Karen Carpenter, who is hard to sing. She did her proud! Great entertainment that even welcomed diners to come up and belt out a few! Many were dancing / line dancing! So fun! Our server, Trisha, was peppy and attentive. She handled a very crowded restaurant beautifully. We weren't rushed at all - our evening was an experience more than just a meal. Im stupefied at the under four star reviews - truly.

We've also followed Joey for years, all the way back to his legendary infomercials. This was our first visit during the holiday season, and somehow it was just as great as summer, just in a different way... more intimate, more local, and still packed with energy. The food never misses. I had the Chicken Parm Fra Diavolo, and it was hands-down the best and spiciest version I've ever had. This thing is spicy! Equally a draw is the entertainment. Watching Joey take the stage with Tommy Cono (Tommy C) is what sets this place apart. Tommy is incredibly talented with the classics from the 50s, 60s, and beyond, and when Joey jumps in with Tommy, the whole room comes alive. It stops being a restaurant and turns into a full experience. Awesome food, live entertainment, and that true local feeling - this Joey M's feels like one big Italian family party in all the best ways. We'll keep coming back - summer, holidays, and everything in between.

There was also live music that day which made it even more of a blast. I'm not really a bar guy but the one here looks like a nice place to chill and watch a game. But enough about the looks, let's talk about the food. For our prix fixe meals, we got: friend mozzarella triangles, clams, steak in Marsala sauce, gnocchi with crab, bread pudding, and chocolate mousse. We loved everything that was served to us. Our favorites being the two entrees. The steak was cooked perfectly, it was very tender and I loved the Marsala sauce with the mushrooms. The gnocchi had a very nice creamy sauce. My only nitpicks for our experience are two very minor things. I know it's restaurant week but give us a 3rd mozzarella triangle. The timing of the meal was a bit off. There was also a very long wait in between each dish, with the whole dinner taking about 2 hours. That might not be a deal breaker for those who like slower paced meals. Especially if there's good live music playing like there was during our visit. Aside from that, everything else was great. I will definitely come back again for dinner. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. The atmosphere and waitstaff were still excellent and were easily the highlights of the evening, but the food was extremely disappointing. The accompanying white sauce was bland and flavorless. A steak ordered medium-well arrived rare. Given how exceptional our first experience was, we were surprised by the dramatic difference in the quality and preparation of the food. We had expected another wonderful meal and instead left very disappointed. Regrettably, based on this experience, we will not be returning.
