Ordered an American Cheese Hoagie and I received a ham hoagie. My turkey and cheese did not have the onions that I requested and there wasn't a lot of meat on the hoagies. I also asked for Swiss and I received American. Rather small for the price. Go to Russo's for the same price as a small you can get a bigger hoagie with more meats and they won't mess up your order.

Chicken parm with extra sauce. Chicken and roil were good but a little light on the sauce.

We were initially planning to eat at Uries for dinner (at the recommendation of our hotel…read moreconcierge), but they were closed for a private event (it's a popular party spot!). We ended up at the Boathouse Restaurant next door, and it did not disappoint! (Boathouse, Uries, and Beach Creek are all part of the same restaurant group). We came during night time, so we didn't get to enjoy the view, but we were seated near the water to look out at the dark boats. Diane was our waitress and she was superb! Service was excellent across the board. Diane was personable, attentive and efficient, checked on us regularly, refilled drinks, brought out food, did all the necessary staging, etc. - this was the epitome of good service. I really commend management because every server that I observed had that personable and hospitable touch that makes the Boathouse such a pleasant dining experience. To start the meal, we were treated to complimentary bread service and a house salad (dressing is an herb vinaigrette). Diane even brought out extra cheese to top the salad with. Food was brought out at a reasonable pace. We ordered oysters (from Delaware Bay) for our appetizer. It came with half a dozen ($17). It was served with cocktail sauce and a lemon. The oysters were served cool and fresh and were a good size. I do prefer a brinier oyster, but that was the catch of the day. Each entree (excluding pasta) comes with your choice of potato (French fries, baked, or roasted) and a veggie (green beans or cole slaw). I ordered the scallops entree ($42). You can get it broiled or fried. I opted for the broiled scallops with French fries and green beans. These were local day boat scallops, which were fresh and a good size (not huge, but definitely not tiny bay scallops). I had over a dozen broiled scallops in a white wine and a lemon butter sauce. Flavor of the sauce could have been a little stronger, and one or two had some grit/sand to it. Admittedly, the food is a little pricey, but given it is a seafood restaurant featuring local catches, it's understandable. They do have sunset specials (early bird) which is a great deal. For the price, portion sizes weren't overly generous, but it was the perfect serving size to feel full and satiated (and still have room for dessert). Speaking of dessert, we ordered the Tuxedo Bomb ($10) to share. It was more ice cream than cake or mousse, but it was a nice frozen chocolatey treat to please any chocolate lover. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening, and service was excellent. I wouldn't necessarily rank it above any other seafood restaurant, but I would come again. Seriously, service is fantastic! There is a 3% surcharge if you pay with credit card. They offer a military discount.

Count on Yelp! To find you a great dining experience. We read all about surf and turf places around…read moreWildwood, we decided to go to the Boathouse. We are glad we did and we are glad we followed the advice we got from the reviews on Yelp! Just the two of us. But a wonderful experience. A coconut mojito for the wife and a lager for me. Just what we needed. For starters I ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon. Melt in your mouth goodness. Amazing. For dinner we got chicken Parmesan with pasta and 7oz sirloin steak with roasted potatoes and green beans. The house salad with house dressing a light Italian dressing and bread. Truly a great dinner. Super fresh, cooked to perfection. Our waiter was great. Personable and friendly. The view of the harbor during our stay was cool. Watching the boats come and go was fun. Watching the tiki party boats cruise by and the NJSP cruise on by as well. Perfect weather, no humid a slight breeze. It was a great time.

it was a great food and good prices. My whole family enjoyed. It would definitely recommend trying…read moreit if you have a chance.

When the chef at the Wagon Wheel arrived at work this afternoon, God averted his gaze. Being…read moreomniscient, he knew what was coming -- but even his omnipotence wasn't enough to prevent the culinary mortal sin that was inflicted upon our unsuspecting party of five this Tuesday afternoon. But wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. Eating at the Wagon Wheel is an experience, insofar as stubbing your toe is an experience, or contracting leprosy is an experience. Not all experiences are made equal, and some you actively hope to repress the memory of. Such was this. Let's start with the food. I ordered the steak and shrimp. I expected a juicy, tender piece of New York strip, cooked rare. Instead, I got an under-seasoned, over-cooked piece of desiccated shoe leather. As for the shrimp, if you bought a $5 slingshot from the boardwalk, you could easily repurpose them as a highly-effective crowd control weapon -- if not for those pesky Geneva Conventions, that is. Others in my party fared no better. My father-in-law received a pile of dry, chewy ribs that were so over-salted, they seemed almost designed to provoke renal failure. My wife got a hamburger that, she said, made her feel like she swallowed the contents of a cement mixer. In many respects, she wishes she did -- it certainly would be, gastronomically speaking, a step up from the Wagon Wheel. My brother-in-law and mother-in-law both ordered the steak -- although they had the presence of mind to avoid the shrimp, which, I add, were a sixteen-dollar surcharge. Sixteen fucking dollars, for four "jumbo" shrimp that were neither jumbo, nor edible. I'm still bitter about that. Oh yes, their steaks. The medium-rare one was overcooked, and the well done one was undercooked. Now, look: I appreciate the staff at the Wagon Wheel are used to only hearing the words "well done" with a sarcastic tone, like when a puppy shits outside of the house for the first time, but how do you screw up a well done steak? You just cook the fucker until it has the same consistency as the sliced up Doc Martens we were served. Everything came with a side of baked potatoes -- which, if they were originally baked this year, I would be stunned -- and a thimble of over-boiled broccoli that looked as lethargic and unhealthy as those in our party that finished their meals. Remember when I said that eating at the Wagon Wheel was an experience? It was one that our servers seemed determined to drag out, serving members of our party at random times, and with massive gaps between each person. The time between the arrival of the first plate and the last was, easily, about twenty minutes. Whoever said that "good things come to those who wait" was a liar. And this, I add, was at a time when the restaurant was as crowded as Jeffrey Epstein's funeral. In many respects, it almost felt like a piece of cruel performance art, with the restaurant serving over-salted food designed to sap the moisture out of you, but not actually coming round to take a drink order. I've rambled. I'm sorry. Let me wrap this up: The Wagon Wheel really is unmitigated bum.
