Their egg platters are fantastic and come with toast that is just perfect. Oh, and they have amazing fresh squeezed orange juice. For lunch we love their Pan con Lechón which is tasty. The Cuban bread is fresh and perfectly toasted. The Pan con Bistec is yummy with all the trimmings. We especially love the potato sticks in it. You take a number and they quickly go through them. This is the old Vicky's Bakery which changed names but still the family of the original owners. They have their own parking space and always have room. I've come here many times. May not be the healthiest but really good. Walking in they always have music playing. Just be sure to grab your ticket! They push a lot of people through their doors. We have been passing by the CAO Bakery on 163rd Street for years and finally ordered from CAO over Uber Eats for dinner one night. We ordered around 8 pm and our food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes and was ready at the outdoor pickup window. We ordered two grilled chicken sandwiches for around $13 and fries for around $3 and a few croquettes as sides for a few bucks. We took our food and ate it on the patio with ample tables and seating. The food was all really good, very flavorful and food quality was great for the value. About 8:30 or so one of the employees came out to the table and let us know they were closing in 30 minutes and also gave us a free tray of pastries they were about to discard at the end of the night. Love this spot! They have restrooms towards the back. Spacious inside and some tables too. There's a plethora of different things you can get. But my eyes set in three things. Guava bread, cheese bread, and the ham or meat rolls. Reminiscent of the bakery down in LA Porto's, this was the very spot I got put in guava bread and was ecstatic when I found a similar version in LA. Now it needs a branch in San Francisco! The other day I ordered a pan con bistek and they overcooked the steak even after I told them medium. Also the steak had no flavor. The coffee was good and the service was fine. Clean, bright, lovely and well maintained Cuban bakery, many pastries everything look delicious. They have breads available as well as empanadas and sandwiches and a breakfast menu. I noticed they also cater for events and parties. The coffee was great and I enjoyed the flavor and the texture of the guava pastries. I like Cao and I usually ordered every weekend! Now, I'm just giving it 4 stars because I haven't actually eaten there, I have always ordered thru Uber eats. Luckily, my order had always gotten right. I usually ordered the tostada with cream cheese and Swiss cheese and it's so good and filling. The tostada is pretty big, two big pieces of bread with a lot of filling. Also, we get breakfast with scrambled eggs, ham, and French fries and it also comes with a tostada with butter and coffee. It's a great price for everything within that breakfast platter. The coffee here is really good and they have an almond milk option if you need a dairy-free option. However, a Yelp check-in gets you a free one! I've had a variety of their cakes as well; the flan cheesecake and dulce de leche flavors are so rich and creamy. My only negative experience was with their tiramisu -- it was drenched with an overly sweet coffee syrup that leaked through the box. The cake was extremely dry and barely had enough cream like a real tiramisu. When you walk in, make sure to grab a paper number ticket to be helped. I found that I had a taste for a Cuban sandwich. While staying a week in Miami, there's no way to get around the culture that the food brings. I went for lunch but was surprised to see they serve breakfast all day. Their breakfast was reasonably priced for a nice meal. I went with a chicken Cuban. I enjoyed the fact that the chicken was nicely marinated . I ordered a side of fries however, realise that there were already fries on the sandwich. My daughter order a chimichurri sandwich. I was surprised at the size of the sandwich and the amount of meat that they had. The sandwich was perfect and I was able to save half of it for later. They also made a variety of pastries cakes and cookies. The smell of fresh pastries is an intoxicating aroma. With over 15 locations in Dade and Broward serving locals over the last 45 years, this bakery is super popular and their freshly baked goods are worth your trip. This particular location is almost a year old and on a recent visit, I was surprised to see how full their showcases were stocked. It was around 3pm that I passed by and every single case was near capacity; there were some areas that were empty, but there were so many different things to choose from you'd find a dozen things to enjoy. I ordered the fruit tart and it was super fresh; the cream that resembled bravarian cream was so light and very fresh with nothing dry or old on top of it. The rice pudding was also excellent, as good as anywhere I've tasted and really fresh tasting. However, I bought a slice of their rum cake and sadly when I ate it at night, it was dry and most of the cake had no rum in it. Not sure why this was but will inquire about it next time. This was my favorite thing to eat at other places and I was really looking forward to it. I was so disappointed that the next day I went to Sweet Art by Lucila and had one of their slices of rum cake and that restored my confidence again in Rum Cakes. Thank you Lucila! Lastly, I don't normally take photos of the restrooms but in this case I needed to. When you open the door the lights are off, but as you walk in, motion sensors turn the lights on. The restrooms were very clean and orderly and were even cooled properly with A/C. A definate plus to a well run business from all aspects. Going into any Latin Bakery in Miami can be a little overwhelming if you do not speak Spanish very well or you do not understand the culture behind cafecito and pastelitos. CAO Bakery is a new rebranded bakery that was orginally Vicky's. They have made it very welcoming for those that don't speak the offical language of miami (spanish) by adding labels of everything that they offer in English. The staff as well is bilingual which has helped increase their business to tourist and others that enjoy their delicious pastries. Now we can argue for hours on which bakery is better but I won't be apart of that conversation. They have a wide range of latin pasteries which is great since everyone has their preferences mine is a cheese tequino, croqueta & cream cheese pastry with cafecito. Service is typical of any bakery take a number & wait to be served which was very fast on a thursday morning at 9 am (right in the middle of busy service). The pastelitos were very good. The tequino was cooked perfectly and wasnt doughy in the middle where it was wrapped around the cheese. The cafecito WOW, it was not bitter and smooth I could of ordered 2 or 3 easily. Overall, good cafecito and pastelitos, good job for being more inclusive to those who don't know the language. read more
