I just returned from Canyon Ranch after celebrating a big birthday with my daughters and sisters. I chose this spa based on one of my daughter's dietary needs. We were assured that her needs would not be an issue and that they had a lot of experience. We were looking for inclusiveness. Unfortunately, on our arrival nothing was in place for her needs. Each meal was a struggle and lots of false promises made. Management just gave us lip We made reservations and detailed her needs months in advance. I don't think our arrival should be the time they first start shopping for ingredients. This was an expensive trip and I guess our expectations reflected that. I will say that the spa was lovely and the workers all very proficient. However, if you are in need of any special requirements be aware that the promises are hollow. read more

Enjoyed a Day Pass here and was sure to arrive right at 8:00 a.m. and took the earliest class I could at 8:15 a.m. (Core & More.) After, I took their Desert Drumming (actually beokeoa sweat!) then their Stretch Yoga (great stretches were had!) and finally, their DJ Dance Party Workout (Wow! Fun & a great workout!) All of the staff I encountered were equal parts friendly, hospitable, & helpful! I enjoyed lunch at Vaquero and ordered their steak salad which was unfortunately, average. Wait for my salad was a bit too long, especially for a Thursday and it being their "off season." The hibiscus iced tea, coffee, and chocolate chip cookies were pretty great though! Wait staff was friendly. Vibe overall is chill and tranquil, which is what you're looking for when you come to a wellness spa, right?! To end things, I experienced a cold plunge in the lady's spa, followed by the hot spa. To end the day, I enjoyed an 80-min deep tissue massage and it was pretty amazing! Overall, the value of the day pass was good. All snacks, drinks, and lunch are included in the price and this is a NO GRATUITY property, so a bill is never exchanged during your experience here. The food, staff, activities, accommodations, and in-room amenities were all exceptional. If there are two (or more) amazing things to eat and you can't decide, they will bring you both. Classes are every hour and offer a really wide range of gentle to strenuous workouts. I loved the cardio classes and the split Tabada-like treadmill and weight circuit classes along with TRX workouts. There are multiple outdoor pools and lots of exceptional water workout classes, The indoor aquatic facility is perfect for swimming laps away from the midday sun. I am so looking forward to going back next year. My only negative was at checkout...... please be sure you retain a copy of all wellness and spa credits along with all gift certificate paperwork even if they assure you at check-in that they will be incorporated into your record. read more

I loved the bike ride in Saguaro National Park with cyclist guide Cindy. My astrology reading was an amazing experience (with Shivani). Yoga with sound healing was one of my favorites. If I could afford to stay longer, I would and I hope to go back. read more

So far it's a big fat ZERO stars. The check in process could have been handled better by high school freshmen. They royally messed up our reservation we've had for 5 months and handled it very poorly. Terrible customer service. I'll write more later but so far if say this place is disappointing. read more

Canyon Ranch is a perfect oasis for wellness and truly a 5-star resort. I can't rave enough about how magical and special this place is. I absolutely loved my trip there! To start, the location is exquisite and peaceful; Canyon Ranch has designed exceptionally beautiful grounds that showcase the stunning Catalina Mountains. Every space has been thoughtfully and immaculately curated. The service from start to finish was outstanding, and the staff is genuinely kind, caring, friendly, polite, and helpful. In particular, Laura (part of the management team) went out of her way to make sure every need was met. My hiking guides were extremely competent, friendly, fun, and professional. I had one of the best hikes in North America here! April is definitely a nice month to visit; warm, but not hot, and beautiful grounds with unusual flora and fauna blooming. My room was stunning, beautifully spacious and cozy at the same time, and I loved the bathtub. There are many classes and activities to choose from, and they were PHENOMENAL. I was blown away by how good the instructors were. The spa is very modern, immaculate, and abundantly stocked with every amenity you might need. I was amazed by the treatments. I've gone to a lot of resorts where the food and spa services don't live up to the hype. Canyon Ranch exceeded my expectations. If everyone spent just 3 days at Canyon Ranch, it would change our world for the better. We are meant to live joyfully all the time, not just in a few passing moments each year. The power to live this way lies within each of us. If you don't believe this, Canyon Ranch will prove it to you and give you the tools to get started living your life's purpose. I have travelled to many resorts and this is one of the best in the world in terms of a luxury wellness destination; from the location, high quality service, food, activities, spirituality, and spa experiences, and luxe accommodations.... kudos to the management and team at Canyon Ranch. Most of the reviews are pre Covid. This was quite recent and I only write this review because we need Canyon Ranch to be what it once was. The professional people are OUTSTANDING...the people who deal with the wellness part of the trip. The getting to them part was rocky at best....poor pre arrival management which meant much of what I wanted to partake of was booked. The website is not user friendly and the Canyon Ranch app is almost unusable so things that might have gotten done online had to wait for a phone conversation. The food was uneven. Some things were delicious others quite bland even for spa food. The wait staff was very helpful in navigating things. So Canyon Ranch because we need a place with access to your amazing pros we hope you will get your basics working a little better. We all sympathize with the post pandemic problems of hiring and supply chain issues which is why your digital assets need to be first rate. Please fix things!! read more

WOW WOW DID I SAY WOW.... This was one of the best things in my entire life with my wife. From the moment Jim Gibson took the time with my wife planning out our pathways... it was magical. That started the 4 day 3 night renew and recharge. I was going to a business to be honored as Insurance agent of the year so that was a great time to TREAT our selves to an over the top food, resort, classes and just the whole package. Jayson who was one of the trainers to the entire food housekeeping everyone was REALLY REALLY NICE WARM ETC... This resort includes BODY MIND SPIRT... This review does or cannot do justice with the opportunity to recharge your mind body and spirit. You have to come with some fund to cover this cost of the trip but if you can afford it and come with an open mind you will come away with a clear vision of your future you see yourself... I just had a massage with Margarite who has been a masseuse at this spa for 20 years! The massage (deep tissue) was the best massage I've ever had in my entire life and ive had hundreds! Canyon Ranch is more than a "spa", it is a rite of passage for life! There is truly no place/no "spa" experience like it. You can choose how to design your experience there and they also have specialty weeks. The food is incredible and it's healthy. Everything is all-inclusive too, so it's an even more seamless experience! I went by myself too and while I never felt bothered, I never felt alone (in a positive way). I made friends here. Feels like they are trying to rebrand. All the people who have worked here for many years are no longer here, so feels not welcoming. The one thing I always loved was seeing familiar faces and knowing what the customers prefer but now its just cold and out dated and filled with unfamiliar faces. This was my second trip to Canyon Ranch. My first trip was extraordinary. Each staff member was attentive and considerate. My mother had passed away and I needed time for reflection and stress reduction. Unfortunately, my second trip to the ranch was a negative experience. My 25-year-old daughter and I spent 4 nights 5 days at the ranch. The experience was equally rejuvenating however one event ruined our trip. On the second day, my daughter developed small flat red spots on both her lower legs. The spots looked identical to bed bug bites. I am a clinical psychologist and registered nurse. I took my daughter to the medical doctor at the ranch who treated the spots with the appropriate topical medications. The doctor was very understanding and she immediately notified the front office staff and supervisor. My daughter and I were very concerned and went to our room, packaged all of her clothing and stayed out of the room for the entire day. The management staff was extremely slow in responding to our situation. I explained the importance of our changing rooms and keeping all of our clothing bagged. The management hired an outside exterminator to check the room for bed bugs. However, the process was 8-9 hours during which we had no clothes and no room. I had to explain the importance of expediting the process because we could not use our clothes. The management seemed confused and repeatedly said, this does not happen here, it is unheard of to have bed bugs at our resort. I spoke with at least 4 staff and management people during the day in an attempt to help us solve the problem. I asked for compensation for our trip because the issue had definitely ruined our "serenity". The response from management was very unsatisfactory. They inadvertently gave me a response that I was lying and the bites were not a big deal. The exterminator company did not find evidence of bed bugs however we did not find out the information until the following day. The management could have easily reimbursed us for the stay due to the significant disruption of our stay at the ranch. I have many friends colleagues who love Canyon Ranch and they all agree that this was poor management and do not plan on staying at the ranch again. Thank you for reading this review. Wonderful experience and absolutely worth the price for a spa day. We received a massage and took advantage of all of the included classes, an lunch. There was an eclectic mix of experiential options like tai chi sword and West African drumming, a broad range of work out classes, to personal development (the options change daily). The environment was comfortable, relaxing, and rejuvenating. Most staff members were beyond kind, and inclusive food was amazing. What really sealed the deal to come back was that the service even extended beyond your day there. On our way out they gave us water bottles and a meal box 'so we wouldn't have to worry about making dinner that evening', and I forgot my certificate from one of the classes and they made the effort to email it to me after. I've been here 11 times in 16 years. There is no destination spa like it in the world. They have 50 different classes per day not including their half day hikes in the gorgeous mountains or bicycle trips. The food is to die for and so healthy. Their cooking classes are fabulous and all included . This is a place you can go alone and Never feel alone. It's the finest spa in the world. No alcohol served but if you need to you can bring your own and drink it in your luxury rooms or outside your rooms. They go out of your way to Make you feel like a celebrity and I've seen lots there but I will never tell. read more

I enjoyed coming to the ranch for the past 20 years and I will say that the I've been disappointed lately by a few things. As a frequent visitor to many high end Spa's it appears that the ranch which claims in its advertising to be "all inclusive yes, really" is really no longer. They are now starting to nickel and dime you for things that were free in the past year or two with poor excuses like well it's popular. Sure but there are only 8 spots and only offered once a week so that's their solution. They now charge for their craft classes which caused many to be canceled because instructors needed to find work elsewhere. These were things I enjoyed doing with my daughters and granddaughters but I can no longer. This combined with the fact that the spa itself has had no REAL renovation in the past 20 years in comparison to other counterparts makes me doubt if I'll be returning. Very disappointing. They are too focused on one population at the exclusion of other's interests and cheapening an experience they charge top dollar for. Better to spend your money elsewhere for more value. read more

My husband got me a spa weekend because my life is hectic, and I was excited to go. once I was there, I was greeted with a warm welcome. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the other spa'ers were fun and friendly. I was seated at dinner with an employee who was having a spa weekend herself. She was the most annoying pig I have ever met, and ruined my meal. She laughed at her own jokes, invited herself to other's conversations and was a pain in the butt. I think it is great employees get to mingle and have a nice weekend, but she was in 2 of my classes and was a clingy brat complaining how she had to change her eating and went on and on. I will not visit this place again. I went to relax and found myself extremely annoyed and bothered on what was supposed to be a very relaxing weekend. I was stressed out because this employee "pig" ruined it for me. Money wasted. read more
