John Jesse owner & Canyon Fence team did a fantastic job in stalling a sturdy chain link fence & gate & handrail on our steep embankment. Their attention to details, professionalism & arriving on time were appreciated. Also it was good to talk to a live person & NOT Ai robot. Our questions & concerns were always answered promptly. We would highly recommend Canyon Fence!!! Thank you, John Jesse & team. 5 Stars! read more

Part 2 wity Canyon Fence. In El Cajon, not Julian. This time, reolacing the back side of our fence. And again, John and Byron showed up in the AM, and started working. Again. Respectful, kind, friendly and kept everything clean. Fast, hard working men. Trustworthy. Doesn't overcharge. This company is amazing!! Thank you!!! read more

We just finished a very large backyard project with a vanishing-edge pool on the side of a hill. To complete the pool, we needed to install fencing around the perimeter of the property that would satisfy a very challenging county inspector. This was extremely difficult due to the topography having natural brushes, shrubs, boulders and changing elevation, all of which was mainly being installed on a slope. Keep in mind that there can be no gaps at the bottom of the fence. John @ Canyon Fence made a short order of this. His work is impeccable and his attention to detail was awesome. Many times, he would ask or provide options on how I would like to navigate some of the challenges. Not many installers would take the time to do this! If you need any fencing, I would 100% recommend John @ Canyon Fence. Great people, great attitude, and excellent quality of work! I am extremely happy with the job they did for me. Sam G. read more

We're building a pool and needed to have a fence installed prior to final inspection. Canyon Fence was recommended to us, so we called John to come out and give us an estimate. Not only was his estimate reasonable, but he helped us come up with creative fencing solutions (our yard has many boulders and trees around the pool area, which made it difficult to plan a fence that would pass inspection). John was great at communicating his availability (which was weeks sooner than other fencing companies) and installed the entire fence in just 2 days. It looks fantastic! He also recommended and installed two gates with magnetic latches which are an added level of safety and peace-of-mind for our pool area. All in all, we are very pleased with John's prompt, efficient work. We are happy to recommend him to others! read more

Family member had a fence and two gates installed. Gate not functioning correctly after a few months. Four calls into the business has led to nothing. Not sure what the issue is, but would appreciate repair to this pricey installation. Folks will only try so much before they advance up the line. Changing review to one star. Going to contact the BBB. This company has not answered any calls. I suspect they are defunct. Beware. read more

Canyon Fence Company is at the cutting edge of professional fence installation. After contacting several fence contractors for price estimates work scheduling, and selected materiel we had ample time to assess that Canyon Fence Company was the best choice for our project requirements. The removal of the old well weathered wooden fence and the installation of our new vinyl fence was carried out with precise attention to detail that resulted in a job well done. Several nearby neighbors were so impressed by the outstanding results that added to the value of our property that they actually approached Mr. John Jessee on site to hire him for their own fence projects. Our superbly installed new fence speaks highly of Canyon Fence Company and we so pleased that we highly recommend a call to 619-401-2263 for fence projects located in San Diego County CA. Part 1 of 2 It is my pleasure, as a home owner, to write a positive rating for Canyon Fence. Mr. Jessee has been very patient and understanding with us trying to coordinate multiple neighbors and general contractor schedules. The removal of the old fence, that was falling down, and installation of the new fence was quick. With pets on both side of us, they worked efficiently in getting the fences back up. Above all, the work was exceptional. Case in point, the old fence line barely had 3 or 4 inches of concrete. The new poles were dug down a full 2ft mostly by hand due to the rock. High strength concrete was use providing a quality footing. Each side was a straight line that any laser level would be proud of, even with uneven ground. Each metal pole was covered with a boxing section. Quality at an affordable price. Can't ask for much more. Once the house construction is completed, we will certainly have Canyon Fence back to complete Part 2 (The Gates) read more

Canyon Fence - Good Neighbor style - Fences & Gates Near Me

About 2 years ago I had Canyon Fence replace the fence on a side of my house. Unfortunately, one of the fence posts started leaning. I called John several times and someone came out to fix the fence. The repair lasted about 6 months and started leaning once again. After repeated calls, John came out himself and not only replaced one post, but replaced 3 to ensure the repair was very well. John and his wife are very good people. I really appriciate that John came personally and did a great job repairing the fence. read more

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. I used Canyon Fence 2 times previous, most recently was at least 10 years ago. I don't recall any problems. Fast forward to 2017. Using their on-line contact form I requested an appointment for an estimate. I was contacted the next day by Julia and an appointment was made for Friday, April 21, 2017 for 4:30pm. At 2:30pm I received a TEXT from Julia (lack of professionalism, in my opinion) saying that Mason, was running behind on bids, so could he come Sunday. I work nights, so late afternoons work best with my schedule. I was offered 2pm or 4pm. I chose 4pm, but never received a reply, Keeping in mind--all communication still being done via text. Sunday, 4pm came. Sunday, 4:20 came, so I texted Julia, asking if someone was still coming. It is now 7:30pm. I'm thinking no one is going to show up. No, I didn't wait around that long for anyone to bother to show up. Bottom line: DON'T BOTHER WITH CANYON FENCE. THEY CLEARLY DON'T NEED THE BUSINESS. CROSS POSTED ON FACEBOOK TO GET THE WORD OUT. read more

Called to set up a quote a week in advance. On the day of the appointment, no one ever showed up. I called after 30 mins had passed. Line went to a voicemail. I left a message asking if they were still coming and asked for someone to call me back with more information. NEVER received a call back. Very unprofessional! read more

Response time was impeccable. Fair prices. Great service. Fence looks perfect. Exactly what I wanted! Thanks John!

I apologize it took me forever to post a review, but I HAVE to express my sincerest thank you to this wonderful family owned company! They did a fabulous job with our new Cedar Fence. The owner of the company was contacted Monday and said he would send someone to fix the drip system. That was to occur Tuesday....it is now Friday at 5:30 p.m. and no one ever came. The follow-through with the company seems to be non-existent. read more

Needed to replace all three fences around our yard. Had two other estimates, then meet with John(the owner) and from that point on I knew this was the company I wanted to use. He emailed me an estimate within a day. Showed the estimates to my other neighbors. They all approved the estimate. Scheduled a date with John to start. His crew did a great job. Especially when the temperature was 98+ outside. The materials used were very good quality. Very pleased with the end result. The new fence has changed the whole look of our backyard. Very pleased. Thank you, John & Crew. read more

Had Canyon Fence come out to give a quote on a job. We spent a lot of time deciding on the design and gates we wanted. Really liked the guy. We never received a quote. My husband called and left a message that it would be great if we could receive a quote. I called and talked to his wife and she said that she would talk to him and give me a call back. Never received a call back. Don't waste your time with these people. Very unprofessional! read more

I Wish I could give a higher rating because the fence does look awesome but the customer service is horrible. When they installed the fence, they broke water lines in 5 different places. Two were repaired at the time but they never returned to repair the others. The lights on my previous fence were not reinstalled. I had to pay over $400 to have the water lines repaired and the lights reinstalled. I gave them every opportunity to come and do the work but never had any response. I would never recommend these people to my enemy. read more

Let me start with... the price was awesome! I mean, that's what we're all looking for right (good product at a great price)? I had a 1/4 acre property done by John at Canyon including custom welding for two gates. Johns a local guy running his own company, so yeah, you don't get a corporate type of professionalism, but you don't get a corporate price either. John gets the work done and it is done so well you'd wonder why you got it so cheap. It could look better if I would have hired one of the big guys... I have and will continue to recommend Canyon Fence to anyone who needs a fence. Thanks John! read more

I guess I should have read the reviews first. John, the owner of the company was a total no show at my appointment last Friday. No phone call, nothing. I took time off of work to meet him at the house and had made the appointment three days in advance. Left two VM's and never heard back. Horrible business practice. read more

Used Canyon 7 years ago to fence in the side of a house we had just moved into. We were happy with the work they did, so called them first for a quote when we wanted to put two large gates in the same fence to park an RV. Called on a Friday and made an appointment for Monday morning at 8:30. Monday rolled around. I had a tight schedule that morning, so I called at 8:35 when no one had arrived yet. The receptionist said she would call the person who was supposed to come out to find out what was going on. Never heard back, and no one ever showed up. read more

I called the company to get a quotation for a fence around my veg and fruit trees area. Spoke to his wife who set up the appointment but he didn't show up. I called to find out why, left a message but no one call to explain why. If a company is that unreliable in the beginning of the process, I wonder how he will be after we signed the contract? I do not recommend this company. Wasted my time waiting for him. read more

Part of our fence blew down with the high winds in February, as did many others in San Diego. Business was booming for the fence companies and it was difficult to get estimates. We decided it was time to replace the entire fence and one gate. I had five different companies come out to look at the fence, all highly rated by Yelp. After acting interested, three of the companies declined the job...too busy, too hard, bad knees etc., one just didn't get back to me. My project was not easy, there are some tricky elevations and many steps to go up to get to the backyard. John Jessee, owner of Canyon Fence, came out, gave me a fair bid and scheduled my job in a timely manner. He wasn't scared off by the details of the job and even worked with me to create a beautiful custom gate. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. John and his wife Julia were wonderful to work with. They were responsive to my calls and emails. Everyone showed up on time, worked a full day, cleaned up well and my fence was completed in 4 days and is beautiful. I would highly recommend this company. read more
