What a fun concept to have a place for singing, dancing, while painting! Canvas & Grapes got it right and our group had a wonderful time. We booked the Paint & Sing on a Saturday 1:30-5 pm slot for $55/prn. It included music entertainment, painting experience, and karaoke. It's BYOB and you are welcome to bring snacks as well. Door opens at exactly 1:30 pm (it's locked prior to that) and upon entering, there's a check-in counter where you get your apron for painting and coat rack to hang your coats. Then you are directed to your table which it's already set up with paint supplies and a blank canvas. Very lively and hip vibe. Our painting instructor was wonderful and we were entertained the entire time. There's no bad seat in the room as they had a stage with camera where the instructor showed step by step on painting. There were TVs all around the room for each table to follow without issues. We take breaks throughout the session to allow paint to dry and time for dancing and singing. The time flew and we were promptly done by 4:30. Extra time remained for pictures and clean up. I highly recommended it for a girls gathering, birthday celebration, or just a fun thing to do. I've been to Canvas and Grapes experience twice and had a great time both times. The first time I went was in 2019 and it was my favorite experience out of the two because some of the team members put on a performance for everyone. The second time I went there wasn't much of a performance from the team members. I guess it depends on which of the team members are working and which ones feel comfortable performing. Both times I did the LIVE KARAOKE PAINT N' SIP W/ DJ. Which gives you the opportunity to do some karaoke your own self if you are feeling enthusiastic. It is also a BYOB and you can bring small snacks. Overall it is a fun experience and definitely a go to paint and sip experience I would recommend trying. read more

I've been here 4 times already!!! Love this place, it's a vibe. Tucked away in Edison. Parking lot is small but accommodating. They do have a place to hang your coats. Not your average paint and sip! This place brings you a unique experience all around. Booking was a breeze. The birthday guest sent us the link and guided us on what to input in the notes section. I made a payment and an email was sent with further details to my arrival. The booking to our party was about a total of 20 people, 4 tables of 5. We took up the entire right section. The left section was open to the public. Regardless of where we sat we all had access to the instructor and the TVs projecting the art work that was being demonstrated. The instructor was informative, detailed and personably funny. All staff members were just as great and talented as they helped out when needed. There's a coat rack before entrance. So no worries on bringing your coat into the art room. Brining in a wine bottle? They got you with a cork opener. Let's not forget the DJ. He worked very well with the instructor and played just the right music for the crowd. The karaoke was on point! The scheduling of painting, dance breaks, karaoke and more painting is just right. I came here to celebrate a birthday. Let me start off by saying this is NOT your average sip and paint. The staff are so helpful and kind. While I was there one of the parties was being disruptive as the instructor was trying to demonstrate and the owner got on the mic and let them know that he will not tolerate their behavior and being rude to the instructor. I love that he stood up for his employees! This sip and paint is a BYOB (wine or hard seltzer) however I did see people with actual liquor. Their behavior throughout the night did sorta mess up my experience. They also do karaoke sign up and it's such a vibe! I think this is a perfect spot for a girls night out. The only suggestion I have is maybe enforcing a policy that large parties with 10 or more should have a private event. Outside if that I love what they stand for here, inclusivity and diversity. **Sidenote: they will only let you in 20 minute's prior to the class start time. Do you know how fun a place has to be to get me to let loose and go onstage to sing in front strangers??? Super Fun! The entire vibe was great, the energy was giving, and the drinks were flowing. We had a blast! Great music, cool introductions, and cool hosts. Everyone had a niche. The main hostess had great energy, and the helping hosts did too. It was karaoke night, and it was super fun. Everyone mostly participated from advanced to entry-level singers, so it was easy to feel confident. We painted flowers on a vine, and we tried our best. Overall, even if you found out you weren't the Picasso you'd hoped you were , it was worth every single cent. BYOB always makes it extra fun. Others bought charcuterie boards,chips, snacks, and loads of wine. For the first time in life, I felt under prepared with my one bottle of wine lol but now I know for next time. Nice idea. Cool scene. But the execution is just bad. First off- if you see there's 10 seats left DO NOT BUY! You've been warned. Cause you'll be seated by the door in the area I circled on the pic....And you won't be able to see the tv screens that show what the artist is painting cause there's only 2 in the room. Worse off if you're seated against the walls, the screen will have an insane glare making it almost impossible to follow along, you definitely won't see what the facilitator is doing on the stage, and some of the people that roam the room to guide you along will be more confused that you if you ask them for any instructions in case you missed a step because you're squinting so hard to see! Yes, this long run on sentence is meant to WARN YOU! To make matters worse, if you're on a table and put on an end seat, your back will be killing you cause you're sitting on a stool with no backrest for over 3 hours. And especially if you're on the seats near the door to exit to the parking lot, even though someone at your table makes room for you to sit where there's backrest, you'll be told that you 1- cannot sit at the table because of safety hazards, 2- they can't get you a chair with a backrest because of safety hazards and 3- someone will likely call the manager who will tell you verbatim after you've explained to them why you have back issues "I'm not required to give you a chair with back rest"! & "ask someone at your table to switch with you" Oh really?! So you're just going to disregard my health concern? So you're just gonna take my $52 dollars, promise me a fun experience and sit me on a hard bootleg stool in the back of the room, on the nosebleed seat?. So I must inconvenience my friends & ask one of them to sit on these back breaking seats? Do better! The owner needs to get a bigger spot OR ensure that everyone can be comfortably seated and provide more screens so folks in the back are not straining to see what the instructor is painting. All 5 people at my table gave up on trying to follow along. And just winged it. Pure disaster. If you buy your tickets among the first few, congrats you'll have the privilege of sitting in the VIP seats in the front or towards the middle. If you see there's only a few tickets left, best be sure you'll get the bootleg seats. Other than that, ample parking, lively music and cool vibe, the guy who hosted was energetic & fun. I winged my painting & left early cause my friend who switched her chair with me, her back started to hurt her too, sitting on the stool. After driving an hour back home in traffic, I got a text that the owner would give us a free entry back & sit us at the front. But I already had a poor experience so I'll pass. read more

If you want to get out of your comfort zone and have a blast please go to one of their paint and sips. I have been to a few different ones but nothing tops Grapes and Canvas. We went to a karaoke session on a Saturday and were greeted by one of the instructors and from that moment on I knew we were in for a great day. For the karaoke part they put a sheet of paper on your table and you write the top three songs you would like to perform. Then they call you up randomly. If the time allows it you can perform twice. And OMG I'm usually not a karaoke type of person but the energy and the room and the instructors made you come out of your comfort zone. The day starts with one of the instructors,which I think was the owner performing a song and getting you all hyped for the rest of the day . My friends and I perform c Cardi-b B "Money". They have a smoke machine that releases smoke as your performing and that gets you gassed up. The instructors were very attentive the entire day and walked around making sure that you were okay and helped you if your painting was not looking the way was supposed to. The place is owned by a young Ecuadorian guy and it looks like it's family or friend runned. I will definitely come out and support him and his business because he is definitely creating something new and bringing fun to the table. I will be back very soon! read more

So I usually like to do something extraordinary every year. A day that my ladies will never forget.. ME Miss Boujee This place is nice and cozy. The ambiance is awesome. Art work on the walls are beautiful and meaningful. The cast is Great and helpful. The owner is what the place represents. He loves art.. he plays with colors. He's very down to earth. He hosts his event and starts off on stage singing and dancing. He changes outfits depending on the music. He's staff performs too. It reminded me of a old movie called "FAME" I love to sing & dance. All I can say is Holy S... this place is amazing!!! My GF decided to organize a GNO and I'm so glad we came here. Now Christine and the staff rock this joint they really now how to throw down in this place. The Karaoke really makes this place unique and makes the event even better. Now it's not a super big place and most of the paint and sip places aren't but this place is one you definitely want to visit . Once you go Canvas & Grape, you'll never go to another Paint & Sip venue!!! I threw my husband a surprise birthday evening out here and invited our friends and family. I received so much grief for choosing this activity. His boys were literally like "You sure this is something he would want to do?! This is a woman thing, we don't sit around saying 'yeah let's go paint and do karaoke!' I'll go, but it's just to support my boy!!" They were basically saying my birthday surprise sucked, but they would come so he wouldn't be completely miserable. They were beyond negative about coming here!! By the time the night was over, I kid you not, the guys with the most mouth had the most fun (and participated in karaoke)!! In the pictures they were the ones with the biggest smiles! They even issued apologies and admitted it was a great evening!! So yes hubby was happy and I had to give myself a pat on the back for making a great choice!! But I had to get on here to thank the owners!! So where do I start?! The owner and his staff were so helpful! I wanted to ensure it was a surprise so I had to drop off items ahead of time and they were so kind and helpful during that process. We had my sister's bridal shower at Canvas & Grapes and it was the best night we've had in a long time. It was the perfect event for a group of diverse women who bring their own fun wherever they go. Our group could have fun sitting at a bus stop in the Sahara, we love life, and we wanted a place that embraced that same energy. Canvas & Grapes is exactly that. They call themselves an experience and I get it. From painting to impromptu sing-alongs ('cause I mean, when Michael Jackson and/or Whitney pops up on the play list the world stops and you are the next contestant on The Voice...obviously), to the occasional ribbing of those of us who simply couldn't let their guards down enough to just paint a damn leaf (dude it's a leaf LET IT GO!) we had such an incredible time. Admittedly, I've been wary about the whole paint and sip concept. I was hesitant to spend money on what I thought would be a glorified paint by numbers activity with sub par supplies. That was not, I repeat that was NOT what we got here. We got a full on painting lesson with reasonably quality supplies (I mean, we are paying $40 bucks and not exactly painting the Mona Lisa, let's keep expectations in check here), and a fantastically engaged and well paced instructor who kept the class moving and feeling supported. I'm not one who handles failure well. I wouldn't have had a good time if my tree had ended up a big old glob (although I would have tried to pass it off as my version of a Rothko as a back of plan). In the end, I did, in fact, manage to complete a pretty nice tree that I'm kind of proud of. It makes me smile and that's all that really matters when it comes to art right? As for the bride-to-be, she was thrilled. There was space to set out food, her guests felt welcomed and at ease, and the open space allowed other groups to enjoy themselves without feeling like we were intruding or vice versa. In the end it was one big happy Canvas & Grapes family party. We left feeling accomplished, a little tipsy (the two might not be mutually exclusive), and like we had bonded over a semi-challenging task. All in in all a great night was had and Canvas&Grapes made me think twice about my own artistic abilities. Well played C&G, well played. read more

Honestly, this place is SOOOO AMAZINGGGGG!! I came here for my 23rd birthday with some friends and we did the karaoke class and it was the most fun I've had for my birthday EVER!! It was the first time all of us did anything like this and we all DEFINITLEY want to come back soon! The staff is extremely professional yet fun and outgoing, the owner helped me book my party and he's super caring and great at communicating, he answered all of my annoying questions without a problem and everything went PERFECTLY. Oh my goodness !! Are you kidding me. I have always wanted to do a paint and sip and I honestly think nothing can top this! I drive all the way from Philadelphia and would do it all over again. My best friend had her birthday party there and it was way beyond expected. I knew it was karaoke but I thought maybe after the painting lol it was in between and actually started with staff strutting down the isles singing and dancing!
